General Nonsense

I just finished Diary, I thought it was an amazing book, a little different, but nonetheless good.
Is it true that you always just see yourself? You never really see someone else, you just see parts of yourself in them or parts you lack. If that's the case, then why am I a stranger?
If everything's a self-portrait then what does this say about me?

In the solipsistic sense of the phrase, yes, sure. If you believe that all reality is based upon perception and that perception can only come from you, then yes only your thoughts/meanings/interpretations exist. I like WickerKat's sub-line, 'Perception is 9/10ths of reality"

Those were the lines I liked best in Diary. And I totally agree. I choose my friends by the qualities I lack, and the faults I have and I don't wanna find in them. I also took up painting after 8 years after I read the book.
