Formal Appology
Dear Everyone,
I just wanted to post this to say that I'm really sorry for killing a bunch of threads that everyone was (apparently) very, very attached to. It was incredibly insensitive of me, as I was acting out of my own interests and curiosities (i.e. "What would happen if...") rather than thinking of the good of the group.
I don't have much of an explanation that would satisfy anyone either, I'm afraid. It was just "one of those days" for me. And I felt like I had to do something new (daring, risque, whatever), or else just be bored with the same-old, same-old. Not to say that life is crummy or anything (life f*ckin rules!), but have you ever just had one of those days? Yeah. Today was one of those days for me.
It was a really shitty thing for me to do, and I'm very sorry. I won't be starting any new threads (save this one) for a while, and I'll TRY not to post so much, either. Kind of like jane now (whom I'm especially sorry to), I want to go and do some other things for a bit. This probably won't last long, but again like her, I'm going to try.
I'd love to see the erasure of my mostly moronic posts (i.e. nipples vs. ninjas on steroids vs. cat people, or whatever) raise the bar on the general level of discussion here (a'la - gasp - Brock Landers), but I know everyone uses the forums as an outlet for their various neurosies (Lord, how do you spell that word). Me for my tourettes (ha), Brock for his brains, etc. etc.
And that's the way it should be. But again, I didn't mean to make anyone mad or upset anyone or hurt anyones feelings or disappoint them. It was kind of an experiment, to see just how connected I was to something so ephemeral as internet posts. I'm kind of sad they're gone now, too. But this gives me the opportunity to try and build something better.
And if this isn't the most sanctimonious shit I've ever written, goddamn - I don't know what is. I'm sorry for that, too. :confused: I just hope anyone isn't too upset by what I've done.
Again, I'm really sorry. I hope you understand.

I'm glad you took the time to apologize, Will. It really wasn't that big of a deal when you deleted the ninja vs. nipples thread or whatever. I was a little miffed when you deleted the countdown, but I could've lived with it. The one I'm actually still a little pissed over is the haiku thread. I dunno. Maybe it's just that some of those were actually poetry, not just us shitting on the web. As long as you understand this, we're all cool.

I'm more like the geek in the corner the three other nerds with pocket protectors all hang around. And (despite what you may think), you are all CLEARLY so much cooler than that. And I just think it would be kind of neat if someone else took the helm a little bit, you know?
I am really sorry though. It was dumb and insensitive of me and I wasn't thinking really clearly when I did it. And there was no great epiphany that came from it or anything. It was just something I did, and now I wish I hadn't. Because I sure didn't want to make anyone mad. I just wanted to see what would happen (and I didn't think it would be making people mad. I might hang out with the geeks, but it doesn't mean I'm the brightest bulb in the box either).
I hope we can still be friends after this. And if not, well, I understand.

I did not mean to imply i thought you were the life of the party. By the time I hit the boards you had already pretty much become a caricature of yourself. You did however start a lot of threads and when you deleted them, you deleted [i]other[/i] people's posts and that is just plain wrong.
I'm just clarifying why I've been so wrathful. I never considered you at the "helm" and I'm sorry you thought you were and that it was such a burden to you.

If you still want to be friends, sure, why not. You can be a helluva a guy. I still remember your original *aviator* joke and it still cracks me up. You sharing your father's death with InVIsible was pure kindness and deeply moving. I hope those are still there for someone to stumble across.
