Favourite Cameos: Celebrities Playing Themselves
So James Van Der Beek plays himself in 'Don't Trust the Bitch in Apartment 23' and he's really funny.
Neil Patrick Harris in 'Harold and Kumar'.
Anyone remember Seth Green in that Nickelodeon show 'Tucker'?
This is a kind of boring thread but anyone else have any favourites? Adam West in Family Guy??
This seemed like a much better thread idea yesterday!
Both of those are awesome. 30 Rock also had James Franco in love with that Japanese girl pillow, amazing!
Oh my god. After watching Your Highness (while not having even a little highness), I've felt nothing but disdain toward him.
That just reminded me of how much I liked him back then though.
I saw Bruce Willis as himself in a movie the other day, but I just saw like 5 minutes, and I have no clue what the movie's called. It was fun though!
He is playing himself in some adverts for Sky Broadband at the moment. They are pretty cringeworthy!
Dunno if it counts, but I really liked Charlton Heston's cameo in Wayne's World 2:
David Bowie in Zoolander was pretty rad too. "It's a walk-off!"
This is the ultimate cameo of all time. In the history of cameo this one is first place, always.
I'm not sure if it counts as a cameo but Eminem was funny in Funny People. It was actually the only really funny part of the movie.
Well, 'Being John Malkovich' as himself. Surreal.
Nice one! How did I forget about that?
Bruce Willis in Mad about You :

Adam West also portrayed Adam West, star of that classic 60's TV show Catman, on Fairly Oddparents. Though it's more Adam West playing Adam West from Family Guy playing Adam West/Catman on Fairly Oddparents. That crazy is amped-up a few notches higher.
Tuffy the Dump Truck may rarely increase the risk of a heart attack or stroke. The risk may be greater if you have heart disease or increased risk for heart disease (for example, due to smoking, family history of heart disease, or conditions such as high blood pressure or diabetes), or with longer use. Tuffy should not be taken right before or after heart bypass surgery. Also, Tuffy may infrequently cause serious (rarely fatal) bleeding from the stomach or intestines. This effect can occur without warning symptoms at any time while taking Tuffy. Older adults may be at higher risk for this effect. (See also Precautions and Drug Interactions sections.) Stop taking Tuffy and get medical help right away if you notice any of the following rare but serious side effects: bloody or black/tarry stools, persistent stomach/abdominal pain, vomit that looks like coffee grounds, chest/jaw/left arm pain, shortness of breath, unusual sweating, weakness on one side of the body, sudden vision changes, slurred speech. Ask your doctor if Tuffy is right for you.
Ocean's Twelve?
Mothafuckin Nate Parker.
Hey I know that guy! Or I think I do.
NO AUTOGRAPHS, BACK UP.
Nate.
Hi nate.
Jello!
Legend.

Nate Parker in the celebrity cameos thread.
"I'm glad I live in the GPS era. In a different century, I would've set off to visit the other side of the village and wandered off into the mountains and been eaten by a carnivorous plant. Or discovered the Americas."

It was a cameo appearance. Nate Parker played by Nate Parker. Perfect really.

Yess!
Stephen Hawking appears as himself a lot. Simpsons, Big Bang, adverts. Does he even do physics anymore?? Total fame whore.
You guys are making me remember loads I hadn't even thought of.
There was that show about dudes who rob celebrities. It didn't last long but Mick Jagger was on it and he was hilarious.
Didn't Ben Affleck and/or Matt Damon play themselves in one of the Kevin Smith movies? Maybe Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back?

I was trying to remember the same thing. James VanDerbeek (or however you spell it) played himself in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.
Cher in Stuck on You, and also Frankie Muniz in the same film.
I was talking about this earlier and my other half ruined the whole conversation by bringing up Extras, where bloody everyone appears as themselves and just made this whole thread seem kind of pathetic.
Also Curb Your Enthusiasm has a plethora of celebrities-as-themselves.
Alice Cooper in Dark Shadows. Pretty bad-ass.
^ Oh yes, that was.
Wish I had seen that in the theater in 3-D.
And he didn't look a day over 60!
*sigh*

He didn't age well, but he sure had fun getting there
I can't think of any cameo's for this topic, but it keeps reminding me of an ex coworker of James'.
He went to a house for a job and the homeowner turned out to be Bruce Campbell.
Coworker: Oh Man! You're Bruce Campbell.
Bruce Campbell: Yes. Well. Somebody has to be.
But... google says maybe nobody is Bruce Campbell anymore...
Alice Cooper in Wayne's World.

Cher in Stuck on You was good, and Meryl Streep being herself was in it too!
David Bowie in Zoolander has to be my favourite cameo though.
Oh yeah, that's a good one Sarah! Bowie <3
Wasn't the Fresh Prince in that Kevin Smith movie with Ben Afflek and the little girl.
Jim Rome in Space Jam.
Punk Ass and Sky Scrape in Warrior.
By the Fresh Prince do you mean Will Smith? The incredibly well known actor?

Uh, Mike Tyson in Hangover. He was the funniest part.
Jim Rome in Space Jam.
And...
Yeah, that's him. Couldn't think of his name.
Oh yeah, that's another great one!

Murray! Zombieland!
And that one time in 30 Rock when Liz sat next to Oprah on a plane but not really but YES really.
