Exercise
What do fellow cultists do to keep from looking like dead guy #1(gluttony) in Se7en?
I myself weight lift all year and from the start of summer to about November prepare and then play football. I also do bike riding all season but only when the weather is nice enough. Occasionally I chase and wrestle my dog or beat on my punching bag. I also but rarely run. Im only starting it now to loose an signs of a gut.
If anyone's obese here Im not trying to be "mean" but how does it happen(without influence of disease)? I do not understand.
Ran track and cross-country in high school, and have more-or-less stuck with distance running. My friends all think I'm nuts for going on 5-mile runs (8 km or so?) for fun or stress relief.
I'm still really proud of my 4:42 mile time back on the track team, even though it wasn't quite fast enough to be competitive.
Also just took a 2-month judo class. It was good times. It's easier to throw people than I though.

And just to brag, I once ran a 5k bare-ass naked!

Karate, lifting.
A lot of people knock karate, but zen master probably knows that the shit can get grueling.
Lacrosse, Track, and I lift during those seasons, though I'm going to start lifting all year long now.
Lifters: What kind of lifts do you do? Are they freeweight/ machine/ or both?
At my school I lift mon, wed, fri. Mondays is Box Squat and Towel Bench, Wednesday is Power Clean and Deadlife, an Fridays is Bench and Parallel Squat. Every day we also have some polymetrics and auxillarys mized in.
I'm lucky if I can get in one day a week - bench, curls, squats.
I need to get in more...
the ~3 ines - caffeine, nicotine and amphetamine
life's pretty straight without vidalia :You_Rock_
SKIING!!!
I also enjoy pick-up b-ball games and I try to run or hit the gym when I can find some time.

For the most part, it's this little thing I like to call metabolism. Thank you Mom and Dad. However, I do also like to hike and go backpacking. This past weekend, actually, I went to the Olympic Rainforest and did a few hikes in the area, a few on the trail, a few off. It was great.

If yer good, you don't even have to really look at the ball, you just stare at the whole board, and it becomes a natural reflex.
It's hard to explain.
Walking around the mall a lot keeps me in shape.

i think i forgot to mention masturbation. i really like to get into it when i pleasure my alter ego
Um, and in my virginity thread you mentioned that you fuck your dog? So, my friend, was Choke just totally written for YOU, or what?
I run (am training for my first marathon) and bike. I broke my legs three different times when I was a kid, so I'm all into as much movement as I can get. And it beats the shit out of editing crappy copy when I'm working (or supposed to be).
DNT, Have you ever tried NOT masturbating? I finished rereading Lullaby today, and I thought I'd try it, just to see what kind of effect it would have on me. I've read in other books (self-helpish shit) that abstaining from orgasm can ramp up your performance in accomplishing what your goals are by, like, 100 fold.
But I dunno. We'll see.
A marathon?! Sheesh. No offense, but I think marathoners are nuts (that would make marathoners from California uber-nuts
). Back when I was in good shape I almost ran a half-marathon, but ended up wussing out and not registering for it. I think my knee caps would have fallen off after 13 miles.
Best of luck with your training, Will Tupper! When/where is the race? If I can find race photos for it online I'll look for the guy wearing all green (for NyQuil!)

like i wouldn't anyway!
2-3 hours a day of weights and playing basketball. When I was playing football I was 305 pounds. In the last few months I have lost about 60 pounds and am actually getting ripped. Damm I really am a jock. cool

Metabolism here, too, mostly.
I've started doing push-ups & sit ups on a regular basis, too, though. Not trying to get 'ripped' or anything, it's just nice to get in a little exercise. My friends and I also box occasionally.
in the winter, i do some kind of aerobic/cardio class on mon wed fri. usually it's some kind of gay step class, i hate it, but whatever. on tues and thurs i do a spinning class and free weights.
as soon as there's no more snow on the ground, i bike every where (to/from work, to the store, any where i would normally drive) and mountain bike after work and weekends. i skip the cardio classes, but try to keep up the weight training.
i admire distance runners, hell, runners in general. i find it to be such an awkward activity, personally.
someone asked how obesity happens...well, there was a study released the other day that says too much fast food and TV watching makes one prone to obesity. which makes me think, duh, did they really need to "study" these patterns?
Right now, nothing. I need to start walking though, I love walking. I haven't been able to do much since my foot's been healing, and I'm afraid to start. The last time I tried to walk when I thought it was pretty much healed, about a mile from my apt it felt like someone jabbed a spike into it, and I had to sit there for like five minutes before limping my way back home.
Ick, I can't stand running though, never have ever since my gym teacher made me run the mile AGAIN after getting shin splint-type pain from the first time around in 6th grade.
I really need to get a bike, but then I have no idea where I can ride it. This isn't a very "bike-friendly" city. They do have a trail thingy, but it's a bit too scary for me, one of my biggest fears is being kidnapped/raped/killed.
jack shit! and it shows haha
nah i do these leg excersizes i learnt so i can wear skirts without poeple shouting tree trunks. ass clenches so my expanding butt doesn't get JLo size (haha dont i sound kool), and an hour of hockey/netball a week in PE in GAY school with my GAY 80 yr old teacher.
and in the summer i walk eveywhere wooooooooooo. summer walking kicks ass
