do you know what i realized about terrorists
what i realized about terrorists is that when they sad that after 9/11 everybody will live in fear
but everybody said that it didnt make them live in fear
but saying and doing are 2 different things
so the terrosrists acctually did what they set out to do
but dont get me wrong i hate those fucking bastards
this coul also be a good post for a religion argument
how many of you hate jerry falwell
many people use religion to there advatage
they say you cant say that about my reliogion its offensive while they mock you "religion" although i hate any sort of religion
jesus christ i must have add i go from terrorists to religon whats next coffee?
holy shit starbucks sucks goddamn corporations
hey a shiny ball!
My problem with religion is that the answer to every question is "God", and in a country, and a time, where God really doesn't seem to exist...
Jerry Falwell, and every single other "Christian" person that you will see on TV are as representative of christianity as Osama Bin Laden is of Islam. And sadly, not many people realize the true (lack of) extent of the latter.
Technically, we're asking for it. We do horrible things to them, but go insane with rage when they fight back. That doesn't make it (WTC) right, but just the same, it doesn't excuse our having destroyed their well being in the first place. We move third world (or near third world) countries around like pawns on a chessboard, and those who realize it, strive to stop it. And that's that.
And terrorists causing terror? Well sure they can. The first strike always hits the hardest. If I wanted to I could cause terror to anyone, anywhere. That's not the challenge.
Terror is to Destruction as Thunder is to Lightning.

You ever notice that a tape of Osama bin Laden appears at such a convenient time? Isn't it odd how the media distorts exactly what he is saying? http://www.alternet.org/story.html?StoryID=15176
Ever read 1984?
Big Brother = Total Information Awareness + more to come!
Perpetual War
Two Minute Hate = Osama
many more parallels....
That book, I swear it makes it into the top 3 books ever created. It's completely, and wholly timeless... it was made quite a bit ago, but it was written in such a prose, and used such an allegory, that it can apply, to an extent, to any time, atleast as a threat of things to come.
I would agree with you on the parallels, but I think the point of the book is that it will always match up with life, as long as you live in this type of society. It can be a vague threat, a looming view of things to come, and etcetera, because it's built on human nature, and ideas of utopia. No crime, no war, no reason to live.
Or atleast that's what I got out of it.
I say the world has only a few hundred more years and it's completely toast. America and Russia only have enough atomic weapons to blow up the world like 340 times over or something. Somebodys' gonna fuck something up and it's just gonna grow from there. It almost happened in Cuba. Who cares though.
One time at school we were supposed to create all these machines or whatever in order to save the world. Like recycling and shit I guess. I created a time machine and went back in time and blew away all these fucking apes so that man would not survive. It was sweet, I saved an entire planet and I got to fly around Africa shooting apes.
If the world was blown up 340 times over. Atleast it would be a nice start over for the earth. Over millions of years the atomic mutant animals that survived would start dying off. Natural selection or whatever would weed out the weak. It would give the earth a chance to survive.
On another note. I think other countries are getting quite fucking fed up with America. I don't mean you guys specifically. I'm talking about the crack smokers running the show. They push everybody around. Someone on this site described America as the Worlds Baby Sitter. I say you're the drunk bully who steals our lunch money and locks us in garbage cans. I'm scared of what Korea is going to do. Or China. I don't think anyone knows whats going on over there.
At this point with America, and the world, I'm reminded of the stage in alot of Turn Based Strategy games (coughWarcraft IIIcough) where you're defending an objective, and the enemies keep advancing, and you're holding them off. You only have to keep it up for 5 more minutes, and if you do that, then you're home free, and it gets eons better. But you just have to rough out that 5 minutes.
I don't know. Maybe we'll lose this game. I say that as if it were a remote chance. But as it is, public awareness is making goddamn revolutionary advances. 6 years ago, Americans weren't hating the game and hating the players. Only because of 9/11 are the majority of us truly realizing how horrible we are treating the world for our own profit. We're seeing how corrupt our political system is, in it's many facets. We're seeing alot more about equality of various societies. People say a step by step example is a tool of education for nothing but the naive and the foolish... but it sure does get the job done quick.
If we can survive 75 years, as a modern society, I see no reason why we won't become peaceful. It's an obvious decision to make, pacifism, and at that point, the sacrifice will have been eased into enough to make the step a small one. But.
We just have to make it that long.

I know what you mean. It's like arrogance or something. Cable news is a good example. It's like our country is the only one that matters. Especially the thing on Fox...Around the world in 80 seconds. Wow, a whole 80 seconds for all the other countries of the world.

Here's a joke I heard today. Yes, I'm probably miles behind, but humour me.
Osama bin Laden's talking to George Bush about Star Trek. He says he's watched every episode, and in all that time he's seen black people, white people, Asians and all kinds of aliens, but never any Muslims. Why, he wonders?
"Because," says Bush, "it's set in the future."
Joke ends. Well, I thought it was funny. In a "Ho ho, those crazy homicidal maniacs" kind of way.
Bah.
In Connecticut, some guy wrapped his whole house in plastic and duct tape. He said that he'd rather be safe then sorry.

In the Silicon Valley, where I live, we're being told to be cautious and to buy gas masks, stock up on food and water, and be ready for anything.
I saw a report last night that New Yorkers we're buying anti-biological weapons gear by the droves. People were walking around with radiation pills in their wallets, just in case.
Isn't it odd that a government that's suppossed to be protecting us is putting us in so much danger? Bet that the asshats who run this place will all be in bunkers, drinking champagne and eating well while we suffer the consequences and are forced to breath through masks and burry our dead, and while our fathers/mothers/brothers/sisters/uncles/aunts/neigbors die in vain in some foreign country for reasons that they'll never know or never truly understand.
Suck me beautiful...
Interesting point, Fucko. Have you ever seen Stanley Kubrick's: Dr Strangelove Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb. That movie is very relevant to the idea you just brought up.
No can't say I have, but now I definately need to go check those out. Thanks for the recommendations.
Suck me beautiful...
could we please, please, please, please, FOR ONCE have a decent discussion without flaming? shit almighty, people.
i do think that the osama tape appeared at an incredibly convenient time. however. what he actually said on the tape was along the lines of, "I don't like Saddam Hussein, but I think that Iraq should fight against America when/if they attack. They may be powerful, but I escaped from them in Tora Bora." It was at once an "advice column" and a nose-thumbing at the US.
What truly infuriates me about the US government's reaction to the tape is the fact that Colin Powell said the day the tape was played on al-Jazeera that this was "conclusive proof that Saddam Hussein is collaborating with al-Qaeda." PLEASE. Just because OBL mentioned Saddam's name, that means they're collaborating? That's like saying that President Bush is collaborating with Sen. Tom Daschle because Daschle mentioned Bush's name at a recent press conference. What utter bullshit. The worst thing is they obviously think that we're all just total retards, if they think we're going to swallow this crap.
While I feel the war is wrong, however, I'm not too cool with all the anti-Americanism in Europe. Opposing Bush is one thing, but I think that they lump us all together with him, which is pretty insulting to a lot of Americans.

Wow. This little thread got CRAZY. People telling me to abuse my girlfriend, people showing an alarming lack of respect for women as a whole, people questioning my masculinity in some kind of bizarre machoistic pissing-contest. Hell, I even got called stuffy.
It's not so much directed against the American people, but institutions, companies and so on (in my experience), though admittedly it has become a fairly popular bandwagon for xenophobes, hippies and other assorted unsavoury types who don't think twice about propagating their own stereotypes. That said, the likes of Fox News and the kind of tourist we get here do not project a good image of the American people.
Bah.
see, that's what i'm talking about. when we judge other cultures by their TV/movies/tourists/exported products/whatever, we're racist and ignorant. when europeans do it, they're just plain right. it's not fair. sure tourists can be annoying. but having visited europe myself many times, i know simply hearing my american accent or realizing i was american has made people treat me with an attitude they wouldn't have otherwise. so one wonders where this vicious cycle begins. and p.s., most people outside of nebraska dislike FOX news too. for the love of god, don't judge us by FOX news.

Nah, I ain't judging nobody. Double negatives notwithstanding, that last bit about tourists and Fox was a joke. I can't even begin to imagine what kind of nation could possibly be represented by such a horrendously irritating channel
Bah.

Oh god. I'm so sorry.
It's kinda fun to watch now though, because the news anchor people's voices are so dramatic and serious about ANYTHING. Especially the woman that was pregnant a while back. Anyway
This is what I love about cable news channels. The other day Tom Ridge (i think) was talking about new security stuff. And this isn't just FOX idiots, EVERY news channel cut to a different story. A dog being rescued off a piece of ice in a lake. Breaking news that affects every single american....will the dog make it....???
Oh yeah, it's all fun and games until the patriotic music kicks in. Hngh. Though I'm led to believe that the American version has ads (or 'commercials', if you will) instead of that.
Bah.
commercials instead of breaking stories? not really.

God no. The worst music is on the global temperature weather deely thing wotsit. Which someone told me isn't shown in the US. Given how suddenly it cuts off, it seemed plausible at the time.
Bah.
yeah we don't get global temperature. we get local temperatures. oh well.
