Since you've eaten there, you are now a Gaysubject. I hope that steak was worth it.

'Twas. Especially since I spent most of the time flirting with another Gaysubject. We defied our lord and title, and it was... not very eventful. It's damn near impossible on these family vacations.

bk: Can't afford to quit my job. So, I keep Issy in sight constantly.

I made an assertive announcement at work, that kids will be learning to pick up toys to learn responsibility and discipline. Additionally, no bullying at all.(< that morsel is a tiny hooray) Parents will not complain about this, because that's how they should expect their children to be consistently.
If her kid touches mine again, I'm going to pack my stuff and leave. My boss is mostly okay and reasonable, but she has a blind spot when it comes to her kid's bullying.
Because sometimes you have to demand respect. It's not handed out evenly, as one would hope.
And, I'm soliciting advice for starting a coffee shop business from her.

A sexy Grey Goose Vodka commercial came on.
I want to go to a swank Christmas party. Preferably wearing cashmere and laughing hollowly at the peasants, like folks in the commercial. Maybe that's why they drink so much. Vapid conversations with like soulless yuppies, will drive one to drink an excessive amount from Pier 1 tumblers spilling cosmos, stella artois' and mimosas on the one of a kind 18th century Persian rug.
I still wanna go. I would take a bubble bath in their Venetian marble tub and languidly sip a frosty Greyhound, while they are downstairs entangled in their gossip girl drama.

Do you guys have staff meetings? Where you talk about the children and their interests and any possible behaviour issues?

That would be the place to bring up her child. You could talk about how her daughter is very rough, and hopefully have the back up of your colleagues. But you could also discuss as a team how to help her little girl follow her interests, and talk about what she is good at and how to develop that.
Her daughter's bahaviour sounds terrible, but it sounds like a bored child who obviously has no boundaries at home, but is also getting mixed messages at Day Care, as mummy lets her get away with shit, while the other teachers might not?

Just some thoughts.

I havn't seen Coronation Street in 3 weeks! I'm missing it. Our freeview box is still bung and I can't be arsed trying to watch it on the interweb.

Also, my right rib area hurts. I'm really tired. This was my second week down a staff member, and we have 5 non-walking babies. That means a lot of lifting and carrying and I'm just not fit to be doing that all the time at the moment.

Okay. I'm drunk. Skip if you don't care for these stories.

I go out with a friend and all her girlfriends. At one bar, we run into some acquaintances of mine, from Australia. I say, "Hey, you might really like these girls I'm with. Who knows? They might wanna take you home, blah blah blah." I go to the bathroom. Everyone's gone. I find another friend of mine. We chill. I try to call everyone else up to see what's going on. No answer. I drive home. I get a text and a call from them saying they got their wallets stolen, and they blame that on my Australian buddies. I say nah, it can't be them. I try to call the Aussies. No answer. Could be the wrong Daniel. I got a new phone since I met them, so I might not even have their numbers. Everyone gets home, and the two girls who got their wallets stolen blame me, threaten to hit me if I talk, IN MY OWN PLACE. Ugh. Shit sucks. I can't wait until everything's over and done with in this city. People my age are stupid here.

Listening to some Silversun Pickups to cheer me up for tomorrow and my last final. Take a listen. Maybe it'll help you with whatever, you buncha wonderful buzzkills.

Hmm. My boyfriend's friend started going out with this woman who is friends with a woman in my classes at uni that I do not like. She thinks she's a great writer and really isn't, total rubbish, no soul, no prospect of ever being a writer and she thinks she is so awesome. She's one of these people who goes traveling and thinks she's so fucking cultured because of it but again she is not. Getting drunk in Thailand and South America doesn't make you cultured.

I'm pissed off she's popping up in my life now outside of uni. She is obviously quite bitchy and unpleasant. Gutted. Hope that relationship doesn't last, to be honest.

Tuffy should not be taken right before or after heart bypass surgery. Also, Tuffy may infrequently cause serious (rarely fatal) bleeding from the stomach or intestines. This effect can occur without warning symptoms at any time while taking Tuffy. Older adults may be at higher risk for this effect. (See also Precautions and Drug Interactions sections.) Stop taking Tuffy and get medical help right away if you notice any of the following rare but serious side effects: bloody or black/tarry stools, persistent stomach/abdominal pain, vomit that looks like coffee grounds, chest/jaw/left arm pain, shortness of breath, unusual sweating, weakness on one side of the body, sudden vision changes, slurred speech. Amy:
This is from the CIA website
Here’s a list of five particularly timeless tips from the Simple Sabotage Field Manual:

Managers and Supervisors: To lower morale and production, be pleasant to inefficient workers; give them undeserved promotions. Discriminate against efficient workers; complain unjustly about their work.
Employees: Work slowly. Think of ways to increase the number of movements needed to do your job: use a light hammer instead of a heavy one; try to make a small wrench do instead of a big one.
Organizations and Conferences: When possible, refer all matters to committees, for "further study and consideration." Attempt to make the committees as large and bureaucratic as possible. Hold conferences when there is more critical work to be done.
Telephone: At office, hotel and local telephone switchboards, delay putting calls through, give out wrong numbers, cut people off “accidentally,” or forget to disconnect them so that the line cannot be used again.
Transportation: Make train travel as inconvenient as possible for enemy personnel. Issue two tickets for the same seat on a train in order to set up an “interesting” argument

I laid here and cried for a while.

Our country needs to get its priorities straight. Everyone is talking about gun control, I don't even know what to think of that... I think a deeper issue is a lack of help and intervention for the mentally ill before something like this happens.

I don't want to believe any sane person would ever do something like this.

No sane person would. People talk about gun control because it makes more sense. But that isn't even the issue. Pot is illegal and people find that. The real issue is, like you said, mental illness. We need to find ways of predicting this kind of behavior. Or at least spotting the signs of an individual that might need some help.

I know not all mentally ill people do these sorts of things, god knows I have enough of them in my life, but it is like you said, there needs to be safeguards and support networks *over abundantly funded ones* for helping and spotting things before they get anywhere close to this.

When people talk about someone just *snapping* it is like there is this taboo against admitting or talking about illness as an ongoing situation, as though it is contagious or something.

Yes, sometimes a psychotic episode can come on out of nowhere and have dire results, but that isn't the norm and there are warning signs and many things and behaviors leading up to a break. Keeping a taboo on even discussing the subject of illness does nothing to help create a healthy community or nation where adequate support and awareness and prevention of tragedy is available.

Jane once said that her professor said this on writing: You can't make a character so evil that they're unbelievable. It's true of characters because it's true of human beings; or as Brock Landers would say, "In the time it took you to type that, forty seven Russian child sex slaves just sucked forty eight Russian mancocks." Pepper is right: gun control doesn't control insanity. My mom's crying about this as well, I imagine most mothers are either crying or trying to ignore that seething, impotent rage, and all the while a few dozen, hundred, maybe thousand people are sitting in their rooms with an arsenal of weapons, newsclippings all around about massacres. They'll want to top this, they'll live and die to top it, some no doubt reasoning about it quite like Harland Williams explains: These people want to be famous and remembered for all time, but they don't want to work for it. They don't want to go to college and get a degree, they don't want to study, they don't want to devote themselves to any labor.

This is why I believe privacy should be illegal. If I were one of those massacre people, if I wanted a bang, I would be quite Batman about it and the idea frightens me. I think I could do hundreds without even a gun, and I know there are insane people as intelligent as I am; the reality of that is frightening. This will continue to happen more and more. It'll come to a point where mothers stop crying about it. Preschoolers of today will grow up even more desensitized than my generation. There is no total defense for it other than an abolition of privacy and the destruction of freedom; the only defense we have is the social workers who might scrutinize their cases with a keener eye; the cops who will question the weird looking guy; the parents that decide to homeschool; the teachers who secretly pack pistols and dream of glory; the nosy grandmothers who will report their antisocial neighbors.

I knew this massacre was coming when the Batman massacre happened. It got too much attention. The media gave him the fame he wanted and the people ate it up. You think of things universally, as a writer. When you see somebody tow a car with a chain, instead of wondering if the chain could snap, you just suddenly know that it has snapped, somewhere else; it's gone through the windshield and severed a head, it's smashed countless headlights. When they put that guy's face all over the news this shooting became inevitable. As I was thinking: What if this happened in an elementary school? ten thousand psychopaths were thinking: I could top this if I did it at an elementary school. The same thought in reverse. If I had kids I might refuse to let them take part in any assembly; that's where it'll happen next by necessity of the fact that that's where it'll be worse.

I agree about the media giving too much attention, people wanting to top things. I've had a cry about this, it's just so horrible. It's really gotten to me.
They're saying on the news he was a son of one of the teachers they think. It's awful.

wtf.
Its a public loss. There are things that happen to children everyday. Just ask any social worker.
I love children. They are innocent. I want to protect them and give them a chance.

Don't care for old people and their little "I'm just an innocent senior" bit.
They are the least innocent people on the face of the earth. ALL OF THEM - Seen it all, done it all, and quit it all, before we were even born. Act like they are more innocent than babies. They will waste your time like water.
Take your time or stop them from getting what they want for a second, or they will raise hell. Act like some demigod put on this earth to grace me with insults. Not all, but most are jerks.
Suffice to say, I hope we will on the lower spectrum of jerks (on a scale of 1 to 10) when we are old culties.

I know gun control isn't the solution, but wouldn't it help for the insane not to have such easy access to guns, until other solutions have been put in place?

Yes. And, No.

Knowing this country and it's politics, that would be the bandage put on to get us safely to the hospital without bleeding out, but the ambulance would be sidetracked by other emergencies and never make it and the wound would go unattended and begin to fester and infect and even become gangrenous and everyone would get angry that the bandage wasn't doing it's job and ignore the basic fact that an intense operation was needed and blame everything and everyone but the fact that the ambulance never made it to the hospital and that the root of the issue was never tended to and it will just recycle and repeat and fester and likely never be taken care of.

I think better firearms regulations is a good start, but I am afraid people will think that is all that needs to be done and I am afraid that people will get too passionate about their own personal feelings over the firearm control issue to remember it is something much deeper that needs to be dealt with that stricter regulation alone will not suffice for the job.

want to hear a real buzzkill about helpers ?

when my father was killed in a car accident last year someone stole his wallet. i have no idea if it was someone who showed up at the accident first, someone from the paramedics, the fire brigade or even the police. my dad was a firm believer in cash and he was always carrying about big sums. so someone helped themselves by helping my father quite a bit.

still makes me angry.

That is really horrible Barbara. I'm sorry someone disrespected your father in the moments of his death and disrespected you and your family in such a way. Being stolen from is such a violation, no matter how small the thing that is taken, to have that happen ontop of the grief that the perpetrator must have understood they were stealing from is just unthinkable. Some people are just messed up.

Some people maybe just need that guilt of what they did in order to not do something worse down the line?

That's disgusting, Barbara. Hopefully karma will get them.

Very sorry that you lost your Dad.
