"Avoid the Void", the world's least amusing experimental comic strip EVER!
Everyone is an atheist.
Assuming you are talking about atheists of the Christian god, atheists aren't nihilists.
Just because Dawkins says so doesn't make it true.

the last set of comic strips are the ones that really "avoid the void" because there´s no all white squares, they`re all filled with things and that really avoid... the...void...by letting no room fo void on it. Or something like that.
(i know..you all wish that there was a void in here instead of these stupid nonsense of rant formed by this words... but I was trying to avoid the void too)
More please xec
Im sure atheists would like it.
they sure do love their godless voids.
As an atheist, I have got to say that it sucks.
This is a really good idea.

You're obviously not an athiest then, you fuckin' poseur!

I'll bet you don't even own the Official Atheist Secret Decoder Ring!
XANOR SAMSA GNOTH HRGRTH YAM REDBULL!
Gregor Samsa! Redbull!
thats all I can make out.

"The vending machine by the stairs sells Redbull as well as soda, but its dollar bill reader is fussy and might turn you into a giant cockroach if you're not careful."
thats not what it says!

There's a SECRET MASONIC BUILDING DOWNTOWN. They have a 10 foot high gold Masonic emblem on the outside of the building. The first floor is retail, so there's the SECRET MASONIC ART HOUSE THEATER and the SECRET MASONIC WEDDING CHAPEL and the SECRET MASONIC SHOE STORE and the SECRET MASONIC JEWELRY STORE and the SECRET MASONIC STARBUCKS.
Upstairs, I think there's SECRET MASONIC OFFICE SPACE or possibly a DARK AN ANCIENT MASONIC TEMPLE and also some office space.
I'd go to their Starbucks, but all the oath-swearing and hazing you have to go through for a coffee seems a bit much.
blank.

I have to be up in 4 hours. It's a good thing I'm awake now!

Me too! I just had to pick the earliest class possible, full well knowing that I am not a morning person. Just a masochist without the pleasure part.

whats today? tuesday?

Its 3:06 Tuesday morning where I am. Pacific time zone.

I gotta take out the trash.
hopefully the raccoons havent gotten into it.

God is an empty trashcan.
This is a really good idea.

Let's please not turn this into a lame atheists vs. X-ians bunch of stuff. :firedevil That's what MySpace is for... Here, we simply revel in the majesty of Xec8's creations. Gotta say, I also preferred the void when it was still a void. Although, I like the random pictures that pop in when needed. Now, with that said, the panel of the little guy checkin' out the porn is solid gold, all by itself.
Get on over to my website, young'un! www.subvertfromwithinrecords.blogspot.com
I've been considering opening up a void by avoiding Avoid the Void in an effort to rebel against the recent lack of void in the comic.
In response to a post I can't be arsed to quote...hey, I'm pretty much an athiest, and I DO love my godless void. So there.
Dammit, stop trying to "disprove" Christianity. It is both a losing battle and totally absurd. If this religion makes people feel their life is validated, then it serves the same purpose as the literature everyone here loves. The fact is, religion serves a purpose and incites many people to actions that damn near everyone would agree are admirable. And I say this as a nonbeliever.
Also...I too liked Avoid the Void more when there was more void in it. It struck me as...ironic. Or something.

Uh, no it doesn't. Christianity is just another retarded belief system based on fairy tales that hires on a bunch of work-hating pedophiles. The basis premise of the New Testament is that God sacrificed himself to himself to save us from himself. I figured out there was no God when I was 12. I'm of at least average intelligence. What's everyone else's problem?
If you honestly, sincerely believe there's some kind of afterlife that's better than this life, the smart bet would be to just kill yourself right now, and that way we wouldn't have to hear your bullshit. But then again your convoluted belief system has some cop-out where you'll be eternally punished by outer space monsters for doing so.
Okay, my point is, people feel validated by Christianity. I don't believe in God, I never really have, and I feel that the overall, net effect of religion of people is one of general brainwashing. However. Trying to talk people out of their religion is a fucking waste of time. Believe me, I live in a town that is totally dominated by radical, proto-Fascist Baptists. The best we can hope for is that the sects of Christianity that emphasize good things, like charity, forgiveness, and hospitality, override those that empasize bullshit, like...well, I think you know.
The thing is, I have met religious people whom I genuinely admire and respect, in spite of their fairy-tale beliefs. These are what I would consider truly spiritual people, and just because I don't agree that there is something after death, I can certainly respect the kinds of lives that moderate, progressive Christianity has enduced them to lead. On the whole, I would hope that they outnumber the reactionary, born-again fuckers I am most familiar with, though I'm not confident this is the case.
Either way, what Dawkins and his followers do is pointless. They're out to sell books, pure and simple. Dawkins doesn't really think he's changing anyone's opinions, and after the first couple of books, he played out damn near all of his original ideas. So what is he doing now? Preaching to a choir of angry athiests that is every bit as blind of followers as the bastards that swallow the Falwell/Robertson brand of bullshit. So how is this any better?
In the end, what matters isn't your beliefs, it's how they affect what you do. I don't want to sit here talking to fundamentalist Christians, but neither do I want to talk to athiests whose only issue is proving to EVERYONE that God doesn't exist. There are ways to discuss the meaning of existence, and any other intellectual issue, for that matter, without reducing it to whether or not we rot when we die. I would ask that athiests stop trying to "convert" all Christians, and to start hoping that the rational brand of Christian will overpower the fanatics.

This is NOT about the afterlife. This is about progress, prosperity, and happiness. I don't care about the fairy tale beliefs. I care about science, women's rights, gay rights, human rights, stem cells research, abortion rights, EDUCATION....religion impedes all of the above.
Yes, the civil rights movement used religion as a backing to do good things, but so did the slavery and segregation proponents to do not so good things.
People should provide charity, forgiveness, and hospitality, JUST because it is good for everyone, including themselves. People should not do it just because they will go to hell if they don't, and it's SAD if that's the reason people do it.
"The phone-in characters were pretty much as you might expect. One said that if he didn’t believe in God he would have no reason not to rape and kill. Alan Colmes bullied him into admitting that he actually WOULD go and kill his neighbour if he was persuaded that God didn’t exist. Not a good advertisement for religion. If Alan Colmes had let me, I would have made an attempt to explain patiently to the man that morals don’t have to come from religion, but I didn’t get the chance. Colmes was probably right: patient explanation would have been wasted on him. I wonder whether his neighbour was listening." - Richard Dawkins blog
You may be right, it may be a waste of time but we need to change some peoples minds.
I don't care if a god exist, but I think there are plenty of valid reasons to prove that God doesn't exist, to prove that the bible, koran, etc.... should be regarded strictly as literature and NOT as fact. No more suicide bombers looking for their 72 virgins (also degrading to women, or do they get gangbanged when they martyr themselves). No more gay people killing themselves because they think they've sinned and can't live with themselves anymore. Etc.etc.etc
Think for yourself. Question Authority.
