Tell us about this trivia team you have, I'm curious.
As for music to listen to, your new avatar reminds me of Oasis' "Fuckin' In The Bushes," the only Oasis song I can get into anytime. Great riff, why didn't they do more electronic/loop-inspired stuff like that?
ive borrowed a b-sides collection off a mate, by Oasis, that has a live cover of 'I Am The Walrus' -- so good.
i dont own the team, though i occassionally act as captain
if there ever was one. usual team-mates are the one-and-only Kit!,
and some mates: Pinga, Cy, Shirbs, occasionally Tristan, and Miranda.
we are The Owls.
we occasionally merge teams with Phone A Friend, who is:
Per, Erik, Nat and Jess.

getting wasted when i really shouldn't have? all the times i've ever been wasted i shouldnt have been wasted because im not of drinking age... but other than that... i've been on an almost constant buzz from alcohol the past couple of days. i've gotten into bringing a "flask" to school with me, drinking there so i can just go through everything in a daze.

Cool shit, man. I didn't mean if you owned the team, though, I meant what's this trivia team you participate in. Are all those people besides Kit! on this thing?
As for times I shouldn't have gotten drunk, I guess it was last year when I drank a bottle of Penfolds shiraz in an hour while watching Boondock Saints on a school night. Wow was I drunk.

Portuguese chicken wrap? Damn, I've had this urge to visit Australia and Europe the past couple years, and talking to you guys just keeps sparking the interest. Your country sounds kick-ass.
this past friday a bunch of fellow co workers and i decided to have a little friendly game of poker with a twenty $ buy in
well, that quickly became unlimited buy ins which quickly jacked up our pot to around 500 bucks
which lead to all of us staying up the whole night playing, with all of us having to go into work saturday still
15 hours of poker and then going straight into work after being up all night
i was the only one that made it into work
hells yeah !

This is random, but any time I see the phrase "melting pot" I always think of a person who talked about melting pots being an assimilation of cultures but loses the identity of those original beings, while mosaics have that whole image from afar but up close, they are still individuals. I like that analogy. Not trashing your use of "melting pot," don't get me wrong, I was just reminded of that little bit. Just thought I'd share.

This is actually kind of back on the subject of a school night, but I made the horrible mistake of drinking last night. Did I mention I had 2 finals today?
It will be fun to reflect upon as I hold back tears swiping slushies at the local AM PM. Dear god, I hope they're hiring...

aren't you like thirty?
more on topic: our cross country team was supposed to be doing drills up and down a golf course while the principal/coach was away for business. they ended up jogging to the golf course and going into the clubhouse and grabbed a few pitchers of beer and drank them outside in the shade of some trees. the oldest kid here was probably 17 at the time, but they had family worked at the clubhouse. Anyways, the principal's son happened to be playing golf that day (small town) and had a videocamera with him. The next day the cross country team was called into the office for a meeting, just like every week, but instead of chatting it up and talking business, the principal/coach showed the tape.
I took an Intro to Improvisation class my last semester of college. The teacher was a graduate student, so needless to say we goofed around a lot, but learned a lot as well. One day the teacher says, "You know, I don't feel like lecturing today, you guys just want to go out and grab lunch?"
So we go to some barbeque place and we're all drinking. We didn't get trashed, but we definitely weren't sober by the end of it. I had another class shortly after, so I got a ride from one of my classmates back to the main drag of campus, walked into class, sat my semi-drunk ass down and was thinking, "All right! Time to take some NOTES!" Most unfocused note-taking experience yet.
(Oh, Wes - I meant no disrespect to your melting pot comment. I merely had a moment of random word association and memories, 'tis all.)
its a melting pot. you can get any food here.
It's entirely peopled with criminals. Everyone has to fight for water while they dodge lethally poisonous snakes and spiders.

big happenings lately in the Ghettto
my brother's partner got nicked last week, his courtcase was today
but the Great Party Spirit was Shining on him today, and judge let him off with community service
this weekend?
or dinner monday night?
I've noticed you two talking about the ghetto in Sydney. Since I haven't been to Australia, does Sydney have its share of really bad/seedy parts of town?
(Should I be making my efforts towards Kit!'s "Australia 101" thread instead?)
i live in the outer suburbs, teh dregs if you will
there is a garage in my block of units, a regular druqk den
a few couches, a fridge, a very big stereo and a sony widescreen to play games on, plus a semi-permanent cloud near the roof
oh, and theres a pure-bred american mastiff-dog thing, but we got his papers to say cross-bred so he doesn't have to be muzzled
once he ran away and came back with blood on him
and a scorpion too, we were given him to settle a druqk debt
but anyway, this garage, i affectionately refer to as, the Ghettto
um, beth orton right?
(btw)

Shit, sorry about the delay. That's actually a PJ Harvey lyric, from "Down By The Water" from her To Bring You My Love album. Dark and moody, just how I like it.

I dont think very many people in the ghetto stay up late playing trivia, maybe its just me.
