Ailment Thread
My right index finger has been twitching randomly all week.
You need to stop that!!!!
I know
I just really hate that I can't do stuff. There's a million things I'd love to do around the house, and sometimes I can't help but do some of them.
My knee gave this almighty "CRACK" last night when I was trying to remove my sock.
*sigh*
I'm just so over it.
This is the most serious injury/illness I've ever had, never had to go to the hospital before, or had an xray, or been off work this long... Even though I know things could be much worse (like you and your ikky intestine), I'm feeling really useless.
Bloke's been so great though. And people are being so good at visiting. I'd go mad without company.
Also, I've found it's a real bonus being so short, I can pick things up off the ground reasonalby easily (I've always been able to touch the ground with out bending my knees). So things could be worse.
Gotta stay positive and stay off my leg!
Plus I have a hernia and I just helped my roommate move in. I'm a smrat person I am.
D'ya think going to Africa is really such a good idea? I don't.
I actually did end up doing this. I bought the cheapest one they had. But I couldn't get it to work. Also couldn't get myself to bleed with the little lancets that came with it.

I bought new shoes and wore them to that party the other night and now I have these blisters all over the back of my heels. darn my lowered pain receptors when I'm inebriated.
“if you want to be a bird,” you said once, “with colorful plumage and buoyant trills, you must also be ready for hollow bones."

Do you know anyone with diabetes? maybe you can use their blood sugar thingee?
Ha I've done this many times.
My knees been killing me all day.
I'm studying for finals and I can't stop sneezing. why do I have to be sick during finals :c

I'm reviving this thread.
My collar bone hurts in a weird place and yesterday I had a headache all day.
This signature does not quote anything. Evar.
Hope you feel better.
The other night I wanted to dance at the Portuguese hall but the humidity killed my knee. I found it strange and rather untimely but it made sense when it rained the next morning why my knee was hurting soo bad. I have old lady knees
Boo for bung knees.
I've gotta bit of a sniffle.
I have a weak stomach and intestinal tract therefore, I'm unable digest food without the help of 3 daily little orange pills.
Look up into the stars and you're gone.
my throat is dry, so are my lips. This humidity is sucking the moisture out of me!
I'M SIICCCKKK!That sore throat and congestion wasn't just allergies
I'm not feeling too well myself. Started feeling awful sitting the the sun at the river yesterday but I thought it was just sun sickness or something (I don't know if that is a real thing) then last night I was up at three or four or something not feeling well at all. Threw up some this morning. Headache. I think I have a fever but I don't have a thermometer.
I stayed in bed until about an hour ago, took some Ibuprofen and a shower and I think I might be functional enough to go buy groceries now. Either way I have too, wether I feel like it or not.

Sounds like heat stroke. Drink some agua.

QFT! Rest well Pepper.
Apparently camomile tea is good for poorly throats, Jaz.

I'm visiting my grandma today so I'm hoping she takes care of me for a bit. I did drink a pot of green or jasmine tea yesterday. I took too many drugs yesterday though. I was a bit doped up.
I caught the Captain Trips.
Great. Now we are all gonna die.
My knee is achy.
poor rosies knee.
Woke up this morning with a big painful lump in my armpit. The Dr says it's a MRSA infected gland and I have to take these super strong antibiotics that are making me throw up. I do not feel well and I want to cry.
Boohoo.
Mom's gonna fix it all soon.
My knee is doing much much better.
But I'm so tired at the moment. I think I have winter blues. Bring on summer.
Boohoo.
Ahhh Those are awful! My grandma, uncle, and aunt got those and they were all in serious pain.
I hope you feel better soon.

I had something similar once. A staph infection like thing under my arm. At least I think that's what it was... happened sometime near the end of a lamentable experiment that was me becoming a cheerleader for a year in middle school. I remember that because I couldn't get out of practice despite not being able to move my left arm. That coach was intense and also probably thought I was making the entire thing up since I had no doctor's note and too much pride/stupidity to show her.
My mom was out of the town or country so it was just me and my dad. I think I had a fever but he didn't want to take me to the doctor... I think he just ended up squeezing it really hard. Or rather, popping it. Like a giant pimple. Sick, sick stuff.
It helped though. Sounds like I should've been taken out of his custody but I guess he kind of knew what he was doing. I'm still probably lucky to have kept this arm though.
Anyway, I hope you feel better Freemena!

Oh my goodness! Staph infections are serious and i'm surprised it didn't spread since he popped it! So gruesome and hardcore.
Well shit, I don't know if that's what it was. It looked like one though. If I'd WebMD'd it at the time, that's probably the conclusion I would've come to. But we'll never know now!
Boohoo.

I'm glad you are alright too!
The medication is already having an effect on it, which is nice, but the side affects from the meds are awful! I kind of wish I could just be put under for ten days or so until this stuff is out of my system. It feels like poison.
Mom's gonna fix it all soon.
In a way antibiotics sort of are poison, at least in the sense that they are going to wipe all of your good bacteria out as well as the bad. Try taking some acidophilus if you can, to help replenish the good, it might help your stomach too. I'd at least take some for a few days after you are finished with the antibiotics if you can't manage to keep any down now.
So I might have an ulcer
Not really sure yet but my tummy has been hurting all week so I'm on a pepto treatment for now. I can't eat spicy or acidic foods which is gonna kill me because those are my favorite
If it's not better in a couple weeks my mom said she'll get me some antibiotics. I really hope it doesn't get to that point though.
This became some a nightmare. It's why I haven't been here much. It turns out I was mildly allergic to the pain meds they gave me - that's why the meds felt like poison. Then, I got the flu. I was fine for a day and then I got ANOTHER virus (or maybe the flu was an early precursor?) that gave me a fever of 102 while taking ibuprofen (I was afraid to find out what it would be w/o taking it). THEN, I had a severe allergic reaction to the main medication I was taking for the Staph infection and swelled up like a balloon, developed a bright red rash over every inch of my body, had trouble breathing and all that fun stuff. It was the first time I ever thought I might actually die from being sick.
A friend came over to check on me and I had to convince her that I didn't need to go to the emergency room (I had just come from the Drs office). It wasn't easy to do because it sure felt like I was dying. I kind of looked like a red version of Violet Beauregarde. Not as much swelling, but bright red and very puffy all over. She ended up giving me a sponge bath in Aloe and Benadryl gel, like a person would do with a young child that has a horrible sunburn. It made me feel better, but I never ever ever want to be that helpless again.
Mom's gonna fix it all soon.
Aww I'm glad you got through it mena that sounds awful. I'm suprised they didn't admit you to the er. I'm glad you had a friend kind enough to check up on you and take care of you.
That sounds really scary! Did you have to wait till the effects wore off?
I was surprised, too. I thought for sure when they saw me they would do... well... something! Instead, they made sure I didn't have scarlet fever (then I'd be a public health hazard and they would have to do something) and sent me home. They didn't even give me a benadryl or tell me to take one (my friend did that, and that's what sort of pulled me out of the stupor I was in). I thought there was a good chance I was going to die the way my mother did (she was discharged -and reprimanded for wasting their time - from the ER 12 hours before she died).
Yes. I stopped taking the Sepra as soon as I got the rash, but it took days to get out of my system.

Damn, Mena....glad you're okay!
Is that a sulfa based drug? Some people are extremely allergic to them. I am, and so are both my boys (whatever it is that makes a person intolerant is genetic). You might want to make sure it's on your chart and in the records at your pharmacy too. And maybe mention it to your pediatrician, because sulfa antibiotics are commonly the first choice in treating kid crud (like ear infections and bad sinus infections). I don't want to freak you out, but I wanted to mention it.
Yes, it was a Sulfa drug. My mother was allergic to all antibiotics and penicillin, so I know she was allergic to it too. Thank you so much for reminding me about the pediatrician! I didn't even think of that!

In what can only be described as a very, very painful lesson in empathy, I seem to have contracted my partner's yeast infection.
Now I'm eating a shitload of yogurt and I'm on my way to score some acidophilus. The available info for "men with yeast infections" is pretty slim compared to the amount available for the ladies, but this seems to be the most consistent advice I've found.
This shit is no joke... Painful and gross.

Oh no! I am so very very sorry! That sucks bullets! I have seen it, though never been unfortunate enough to pass one on. And of course, my kids had them. The regular creams should work for you. They even reduce the pain and swelling. *cringe*
Mom's gonna fix it all soon.
Ouch!
I feel better about my ulcer now. Thanks Chris, hope you feel better.
Mena that sounds bloody awful! I'm so sorry you felt so ill!
Chris, that sucks dude.
I'm constantly nauseous at the moment. Ginger or lemonade drinks and sucking on mints help a little.
try saltines Sarah
Crackers?
Yes crackers. They're supposed to help with nausea.
Don't know if it's an ailment but a lot of people tell me I'm passive aggressive.
I don't know what the fuck they're talking about.
"Once there was a redheaded man without eyes and without ears. He had no hair either, so that he was a redhead was just something they said."

Turns it out it wasn't a yeast infection, but a urinary tract infection. The difference became clear when I began to pee blood. (No pun intended.) Docs telling me to drink water with baking soda (gag), or cranberry juice, but NO ALCOHOL. Since the big labor day party is tonight, we're gonna have to compromise. Cranberry juice and Jack Daniels, I'm thinking... Anyway, pissin' fire really sucks. Hope y'all are feelin' better.

Fuck Chris either way (tract/yeast infection) sounds fucking awful.
Yeah I'm going to be really hungover in the morning so i'll feel pretty bad
Hospitals treat MRSA patients like lepers, seems to spread like wildfire in that environment so they try to keep them out of there. Or that's what I gather from nurses I've talked to, but then again they might just be insensitive pricks.
I've been drinking constantly all weekend for some stupid reason. My throat feels like an abortion. I take a huge handful of vitamins and pills for the manic depression, and shoveling all that in with whiskey chasers is rough. Otherwise, feel better than usual.
A Good Man is Hard to Slime

I have chronic liver disease. It sucks because I feel like I have either a cold or the flu all the time depending on the day. Plus it's pretty advanced yet the stupid doctors are waiting for insurance approval and a three month appointment to start it for me. All this after telling me that if I don't get it soon then bad things will happen in a few short years.
Plus I have a hernia and I just helped my roommate move in. I'm a smrat person I am.
