Really looking forward to my first smoke. It's been close to 24 hours without one.
NOOOO! Don't do it dude... wait until you're healed. Dry socket is a fucking bastard of an ailment.
Really. Don't smoke.
Dry socket is fucking horrible. I ended up with two months of excruciating pain because I thought one or two little cigarettes somked very gently would be ok to have.
I sat outside for 8 hours Friday and Saturday in 24-42 degree weather. By closing yesterday I was running a fever. I was zapped and had to have my mom drive me home. I've been running a low fever off and on today, but I think I'll be okay.

My sinuses are all blocked up and I've got itchy watery eyes.
Also, funny tummy pains and grumpiness. Grrrr.

Ewww I hate sinus congestion and when my eyes are all itchy
Hope you feel better.
So it turns out that thing on the crack of my ass is a cyst that got ruptured or something. It's going to have to be surgically removed. Right now I'm being tested for staff. Really hoping that comes back negative. Until then I'm just going to assume I have it and only have so many months to live.

Regular staph is extremely common and you will be fine even if you do have it. The scary kind of Staph is MRSA, and unless you have been spending lots of time rubbing your back on hospital floors you shouldn't have it. I found out I had regular Staph on my skin when I went into labor with my first child and it freaked me out. But they just gave me some antibiotics and I and the baby were fine, as you will be.
Sorry, you don't get out of your problems that easy. I am sorry to hear about the cyst. Those suck.
Mom's gonna fix it all soon.
The only David Sedaris book I have ever read has a chapter about a big ass cyst he had on the crack of his ass, it goes into detail about his partner lancing it for him.... bleh
I am sypathetic about your tummy pain (in fact I wat to make you cookies and tea) and your sprained elbow deal from a while back, but this situation just makes me think comedy, and now I feel like a horrible human being.
(seriously though, hope everything turns out well)
My boyfriend had MRSA on his ass. He had to see an infectious disease doctor to have it cultured to figure out the best cocktail to try to kill it. They had to "core it out" which means, like it sounds, they scraped a big chunk of flesh out his ass cheek. Then he had to sit in Hibiclens baths twice a day for like 6 months until the man made hole in his assed healed completely.
I hope you don't have that.

So, I am mostly recovered from a mild concussion I gave myself friday night.
Talk abouut freak accidents. I was cleaning up the kitchen after dinner, had just finished washing the last dish and turned around quickly to wipe off the table when I slipped on a green bean on the floor, cartoon clown on a banana peel style, my one foot slipped completely out from under me and I did the spread eagle splits all the way to the floor. I tried to catch myself on the edge of the table on the way down and the force of my weight going down caused the table to flip and the opposite side to whack me in the forehead.
I broke the table in half with my head James came running at the sound of the crash, freaking out asking me what happened, as I am sitting there on my butt with my legs spread from one side of the kitchen to the other and my face covered with my hands. It took me several minutes to be able to verbalize anything besides repeting "I'm ok. I'm ok". Once I could see straight again, I saw the top of the table upside down on the floor in front of me and the center leg piece upright on the other side of the kitchen with a circle of screws around it.
The rest of the night I had extream difficulty verbalizing, and kept forgetting what James was saying to me a few minutes after he said it. On the bright side, I slept better than I have in weeks, nine hours straight. All day yesterday my depth perception was messed up and my equalibrium all screwy, very dizzy, headachey, and I couldn't remember how to say most of the things I was thinking, just couldn't come up with the words though I could think fine. It took me all day to figure out how to say "I'm having trouble articulating my thoughts" most of the day the best I could come up with to express that was "I can't think of some words." It didn't help that I had to take my daughter to a birthday party at the roller rink either, other parents kept trying to engage me in conversation and I swear they must have thought I was either stupid or on drugs.
I had planned on taking myself to the hospital this morning if I was still having so many problems, but I feel vastly improved now. Though the welt on my head still hurts.
I've basically haven't been able to stop laughing at the entire scenerio.

Egad! That sounds exactly like a concussion. You shouldn't have gone to sleep! I once gave myself a pretty nasty concussion from a super slight bump on the head.
I was walking up the back stairs at work to the delivery entrance and just kind of bumped my head on a low hanging pipe. My co-worker and I were laughing about it and she was making fun of me for being tall. I got to the top, lit my cigarette, took a drag and fainted like a southern belle. After I came 'round I couldn't form complete sentences, couldn't stop laughing and couldn't walk straight from being so dizzy...
It felt a lot like being the really, really drunk guy at a kid's birthday party where no one else was drinking.
Boss called the workman's comp insurance place, they sent me immediately to the emergency room. Was no good, but pretty dam funny.
You know in all the years I've been here I've never been sigged?
I checked the internet on why this happened--the majority of sites told me that I need to get in shape (I normally run three miles every morning and do a second work-out on week nights). No help. Instead, I've been taking four-year-old Vicodin so I can sleep at nights. This sucks.
I'm pretty sure the liver-killing qualities of acetaminophen worsen as it degrades so you might want to take it easy on the expired vics.
This is why the Egyptians said I don't know what it is, but I just think we should really build a big simple building. I don't know why, but, I'm gonna enslave fifty thousand people and do it. And don't ask me why.

Exactly, especially because I really went to a kids birthday party while I was out of it, completely sober yet I felt like I must have seemed wasted.
Man, I'm sorry you've delt with this sort of thing too, but I'm also sort of relieved to hear my symptoms were typical and normal for what happened. Sounds like you hit your head in the same exact place I did too.
Really looking forward to my first smoke. It's been close to 24 hours without one.

Dry socket is fucking horrible. I ended up with two months of excruciating pain because I thought one or two little cigarettes somked very gently would be ok to have.
Completely healed up now. Only took about five out of the fifteen Vicodin I was given.
Anytime I smoked, I'd take a piece of gauze and lodge it over the crater in my mouth, and then I'd salt-water rinse every time. No problems.
Oh I'm glad. Getting a tooth pulled is bad enough without having to deal with problems healing.
holy shit, pepper! I'm glad you're ok now.
however, you should definitely use this as an excuse to get out of the washing up in future.
heehee. I like the way you think.
"but cleaning up is a hazard to my health honey!"
"but cleaning up is a hazard to my health honey!"
i'm gonna have to try to use this excuse one of these days. haha
I am also glad to hear you are doing better. I'm not gonna lie I laughed as I read that first paragraph picturing the spill but immediately felt worried. Glad you are okay.
If I wasn't laughing myself I would have just posted that I fell and hit my head on the table.
Yay for full recoveries.

In the middle of a panic attack and unable to leave the place that's causing it. Life fail.
I'm going to quit my job right this minute. I have two months money for bills, I can starve for a while.
I'm done.
fuck.
You know in all the years I've been here I've never been sigged?
Good luck, dude.

Oh man.
I'm going to quit my job right this minute. I have two months money for bills, I can starve for a while.
I'm done.
fuck.
I hate getting to that point. Good luck. It should work out alright, especially if you get into a better head space when you are gone.
Mom's gonna fix it all soon.
For the last couple of weeks I have been getting these massive sinus headaches, nurofen and panadol did NOTHING. I went to the doctor and got some nasal spray and some better codine based pain killers, and some eye drops for when my eyes get itchy. I've got one of the headaches right now and it's not nice. Time for more pills in about an hour.
I feel like Eyeore right now. Moan moan moan.

Aww hope you feel better Sarah. At least you got some codeine! haha
Last night my head was hurting real bad like someone was trying to crush my skull. I slept miserably but I feel better today.
Does a hangover count as an ailment? If so, moan, moan, ugh. Why can't it be a dark, stormy day today? It's too bright and my head is going to explode.
Mom's gonna fix it all soon.
Last night my head was hurting real bad like someone was trying to crush my skull. I slept miserably but I feel better today.
Thanks Jazz. Glad you are feeling better.
Mena, I'm sure self inflicted ailment counts.
Do you think it could be allergies Sarah? I'm not sure when allergy season is in NZ... Sinus headache combind with watery eyes sounds like it could be.
You pretty much can complain about any ailment self inflicted or not in this thread.
Hi Pepper! Yep I'm sure it's allergies, but I don't know exactly what to. It's summer, I do get hayfever (but not usually with headaches) and I'm on hayfever pills too. The doc said to up my dose of those. It's not quite a sinus infection so no antibiotics for me at this point.
Perhaps you could look into homeopathic remedies as a pssible alleviation?
I tend to rely on things like that for the everyday and minnor annoyances, like allergies and sore throat or low fever or congestion, and then rely on the modern medicine for more serious health matters.
I find natural/traditional medicine helps greatly for run of the mill problems, better really than over the counter allopathic medicine. Things like homeopathic, and then on top of that taking garlic, whether it be pill or fresh, regular acidophilus, echinacea, omega 3's, and amino acids, Vitamin C and Magneseum and Calcium, elderberry and dandelion and milk thistle ect... bsically utilizing sciences knowledge to better the over all health for preventative messures.
*definitely advocate for homeopathic.
Your local health store should have all kinds of things that will be helpful for you immune system, thus helping your body to have a lesser problem to the things that irritate it, plus the staff should be knowledgeble to what sorts of things will help you.
Even if it is just getting things to a managable level, that is better than being in constant pain over it all.
Thanks Pepper, I'll check out the local health shop.
have you been properly allergy tested? could be some kind of pollen on the wind or even dustmites. if you know the cause it will be easier to treat.
Pretty much every day when I walk home my right ankle starts hurting. Right before I get home I have to take a break, because it hurts too much. Ugh.
just woke up from a 3 hour nap that means I was feeling kinda sick because I rarely take naps in middle of the day. I sweat out a little fever and I just hope whatever this is doesn't get any worse.
My back finally healed and I immediately sprained my wrist. With all the shovelling, and chasing around a twenty month old, this will not heal. Very depressing.
I feel queasy this morning.
“if you want to be a bird,” you said once, “with colorful plumage and buoyant trills, you must also be ready for hollow bones."
fuck. I woke up feeling like complete crap. I have a dry cough that hurts like hell, achy and dizzy dull trobbing head. My temp is at 99, wich is barely two degrees up from my normal temperature (I usually run at about 97.3 when I am not sick) but I can't seem to get warm. I guess the wet hair from showering isn't helping.
I was planning on going to this meeting thing to learn about the house education bills that are being pushed and give my opinion or something but I don't feel up to it at all.
Plus I am just pissed off at the whole world and I want to scream at it of curl up and cry and I don't know why, I've been feeling like that since yesterday. Probably pms.
Fuck the world.
Been fighting off either a cold or allergies the last few days. Throat killing me on Wed., fine Thursday, snuffly Friday, crappy and snuffly and a bit coughy today. We'll see about tomorrow.
Also, I work with a guy who didn't know the word ailment until I asked him what his was a couple of months ago. *facepalm* Guy's practically a hypochondriac and he doesn't know the word ailment.
Then again, he didn't know what 'migrant' meant either, until today. These things also make me sick.
Fuck the world.
Feel better soon!
Then again, he didn't know what 'migrant' meant either, until today. These things also make me sick.
hahaha
I've been feeling better using all those old school remedies like rest and lots of water. Also Vics
i have a chipped tooth and it's been driving me nuts the past couple weeks

That sucks. Can you get it fixed?
That sucks. Can you get it fixed?
I've been bugging my mom to bring these little file/polishing strips from her work but she keeps forgetting. It's not a noticeable hillbilly/hockey player type chip but none the less it's bugging me that i can feel that it's chipped.
congested, sneezing,my throat hurts and my ears are plugged from the congestion.
I'm gonna have a hell of a week at school this week.
Sorry to hear that, Jaz.
Mom's gonna fix it all soon.
I'm having this weird feeling in my hands. It's like a dull numb, tingling, throbbing thing, and there's pain in my wrist area. I still have full feeling in both hands though. It's probably some kind of RSI from using the computer too much and not using one of those mouse pads that have the little cushion on it (I had one but threw it out because it was getting torn apart and gross). Even right now as I'm typing it's making my hands tingle more.
But I keep thinking it's diabetes or something like that and I keep thinking I'm going to lose my hands and/or die. I'm actually about to go to Walgreens to buy a blood sugar test to test myself for diabetes I'm so freaked out about it.
This is what life with hypochondria is like.
I think. Still not 100% sure I'm really a hypochondriac. I probably am. Or not.

My allergies are gonna be the death of me this week
My knee is really hurting today. I think I walked/stood on it too much yesterday.
You need to stop that!!!!

Yeah, it sounds like a slow moving clog usually cause by a large amount of cheese or other dense, fatty substance. Could be IBS, but this would be your first major attack, and I don't think that would be too likely. Drink lots of water and maybe a couple cups of coffee, or other natural diuretics.
