Mine: City of Heroes/Villains
Age of Conan
Champions Online
Guild Wars

Right now, in particular, I'm enjoying the hell out of Champions Online, because it's the fastest-paced and most entertaining of all MMO games I've ever played. You can fly, you can wear a cape, and you can fight evil with magnificent superpowers!

I'm still trying to create my zombie mmorpg. I'm thinking about calling it Dead World.

my computer can't handle champions online, i checked. i think i need a new video card but they're like $200. there's a free game called mabinogi that's kind of fun but not really face paced at all. anyone know any good free ones? my computer can't really handle newer PC games just yet but the free ones it can handle. well, it handles WoW most of the time. it only lags a little bit when there's like 20 people on screen but that rarely happens.

All I play now is EVE Online. I don't play a lot but I go through spurts where it is all I want to do. It's a hardcore game for hardcore players and that is what I like about it. There is no fast-travel. If you need to travel somewhere that is 40 systems away, you put your ship on autopilot and come back 20 hours later.

I'm also old-school and don't like how easy an accessible they are making MMOs to appeal to more casual gamers.

WoW is easy and accessible when you first start playing. but when you get into higher levels, it gets a lot trickier to spec your character just right. the quests get much harder and it takes a lot longer to level your character. add to that any extra abilities you're learning such as enchanting or engineering that you have to level up and it turns into a pretty complex game. there are certain things you can't do without a lot of gold and the best way to make gold are the secondary abilities. i don't know, it's tricky.

City of Heroes is the only MMO I have on my MacBook, and I'm enjoying the hell out of it. It's about five years old now, but it's aged well. Takes a while to level up and everything, but the missions are fun.

wow is the only MMO I've ever played and its super easy. I have more gold than I know what to do with, several top level characters, and one of the best rogues on my server. Or at least I did until I stopped playing. I should go splurge on crap with the 70k sitting in my bags...

Yeah, it could use an upgrade now, I'm sure. But at the time it was mostly BiS or close to it. Then they made everything way too easy for anyone to get. And they made all that work we put into Ulduar hardmodes pointless. I'm guessing that's when our progression dropped, a lot of us stopped raiding or stopped playing all together. We were a really great non-hardcore raiding guild, but thats a hard thing to keep going when people aren't enjoying the way the game is going Sad

I actually just downloaded the ony patch, i haven't been on in probably a month.

Because now they're 23rd on your server, which means they're dropped 21 spots in progression since late August. I hate seeing quality players not in the top 3, because I'm a wow snob, and most of your gear could use an upgrade. I'm just saying, if you do start playing again.

We're 7th Alliance on the server, 14th overall. But then two of the guilds ahead of us don't exist anymore. The rankings aren't really accurate, but as far as new content progression goes we're pretty much tied for second or third.

edit: I was looking at the wrong site. We're ranked 3rd on Alliance 6th overall. And all of the top guilds are at the same place progress wise atm.

I admit, it is only for hardcore players, but if you are a hardcore player, there is nothing like EVE. When you play EVE, you quickly realize how low-level games like WoW are. To be fair, my example is kind of poor, because most players wouldn't make that large of a journey, you'll stick to your area of space. But if you want to travel to the other side, it's your choice.

This video show off the universe map in EVE. Everyone of those little points of light is a unique system you can travel to. Last I checked, I think there are over 5,000 systems.

One of the big differences between it and every other MMO is that all the player reside in the same space. So all 400,000 people occupy the same universe and server set. Unlike WoW where there are all sorts of different servers.

It is also the game that the players most directly influence. Everything in the universe is built by players, from ammunition to space stations and titan ships. There are also player-run banks and investment firms. Corporate espionage is not uncommon.

The largest ships you can build, Titans, take literally months to build. First your corporation has to control a large enough part of space, then you have to gather all the materials, then it has to build. Then you can take it into battle. And corporation vs corporation battles can be intense, hundreds of spacecraft fighting each other.

Around 2:30 in, they show a Titan, those little specs around it are normal sized fighters. Think Imperial Star Destroyer.

On top of all of this, CCP is doing something unprecedented with the EVE universe. They are making an MMO FPS for consoles called "Dust 514". Where it gets cool is, the event sin dust will directly effect the event of EVE and vice-versa. So if your corporation is fighting for control of a portion of space, you can actually fight it out on the planets that are involved.

I play The CULT online.

Its this MMORPG set in a realm of escapists avoiding outdoors and staying inside. The more you interact with the game the higher prestige you develop. You can on the side of the SPAMHAMMERS the evil mothership of the game or be a good shoes goody good and earn the adoration of your fellow gamers by talking about stuff and taking pictures of yourself and things from your life. I've yet to reach the high level content in the game yet but apparently it is endless due to the contest updates of mission topics you have to pour over on a daily basis.

I go by Litos Lopidus on the chuck palahniuk server. There is no lvl ratio involved so new players are little more welcomed as to previous versions of the game.

I'm not sure of my level, but I think I manage to maneuver about the map pretty well.
