What games are you playing right now?
Yeah, Uncharted 2 was definitely fun, too. But nothing even went near Red Dead for me. That was just so fun.
Thanks guys!
Assassins Creed: Brotherhood is like $30 off at Best Buy this week. Is that worth getting?
I got the PS3 Sonic The Hedgehog and dude it's fucking hard, and it seems like you can't even save very often. Maybe I'm just retarded.
If you like horror games you can probably find the second Condemned game pretty cheap these days.

It is without question worth getting. Though I would highly suggest you at least play AC2 first.
And I would also read up on the events of AC1. It isn't nearly as good as Botherhood or AC2, but the events are kind of important to understand what is going on in that series.
I've been trying not to game much since I wanna do the whole 'write whenever you have time' thing. But I recently finished Bioshock 2, which was great but pretty much a clone of the first game, minus a little bit of the charm (I really loved the character-storylines in the first game).
I have a game of Saints Row 2 started but that game is waay too addicting and huge for me to continue playing right now. It's really awesome though, I ignored the game for a really long time because of how badly the first one sucked, but really it's a whole other beast.
I also have a playthrough started of Red Dead Redemption, but I haven't enjoyed it nearly as much as everyone else I know. I'm not sure why, it just doesn't draw me in the way a lot of games do. I've never been a fan of the cowboy theme though. I won't deny it's certainly a very well done game though, and the multiplayer is pretty fun.
Oh and I almost forgot: I play XBLA game Magic: the Gathering almost every day. Most enjoyable competitive co-op game I've played.
I'm two hours into FFXIII and I'm bored.

^ Final Fantasy in a nutshell.
Should have gotten Demon's Soul.

I don't understand the game. There is no XP, no lvls. So far I can only control one character at a time and auto-battle takes the fun out of it. I'm not sure what the point of any of it is.

Goth Arkham Asylum to day. Kinda fun so far. Batman beats up guys.
Force unleashed, today too. It doesn't play as well, but I'm liking it a bit more for what ever reason.
This is why we can't have nice things.
I saw and wondered about that Arkham game last week, I might check it out.
Here's another question - where do you guys buy your games? Where is the best/cheapest place to get them... and do you usually buy new or pre-owned?
I usually buy used discs unless I know i want them. And I don't buy recent games. Reach is probably the first game I ever boutght "new". Usually I wait until theyve been out at least six months. A lot of games I buy are a couple years old. Hey, theyre new to me.
It occurs to me that I dont know how long Arkham has been out. I bought it blind as an Xbox download because it said "Batman" on it and I was bored.

I usually use Half.com. You can get new games for the price of used.

I think its 2009. Not too bad.
@ScribblingDes: FFXIII is a crap, and an insult to JRPG fans. Resonace of Fate is far better, but not for everyone (too weird and hard).

I buy most of my games through sellers on amazon. I, for the most part, only buy brand new games because I don't want to get screwed by a game that we start skipping toward the ending. I usually only pay $15-30 for games that are usually 50-60.
I'm downloading this game right now

well I got Unchartered 2 today, and a day off work tomorrow... wheeee!
bulletstorm. pretty to look at, but not very fun

Didn't work.
You'd think a netbook made only a few years ago would have no problem playing a game from 1996.
There was a way to fix it but I'd have to download a bunch of other crap and sounded convoluted and beyond my abilites.

Final Fantasy died after Hironobu Sakaguchi and MR. Uematsu leave the franchise.
I am playing Bayonetta and I think that it is the best experience my PS3 has offered me so far. Great music, Good story, amazing artwork. And a combo system that its 10 times better than most of the "big action games" out there (I'm looking at you god of war III, you epic but really easy and dumb down game!!!!).
Agreed. Sakaguchi created the damn series. It's his baby and not the same without him.
He wanted to leave after 9 because he realized he couldn't top it as it's his favorite. (not to sound like a hipster but it's my favorite too, the only one which the ending made me tear up, though Aerith's death did the same despite my prior knowledge of the event, and that's impressive)
I think 10 was his last one though. And 11 was Uematsu's last if I'm not mistaken. (He may have done one music piece for 12, I don't remember)
Played a lot of Demon's Souls yesterday. Got past World 1-1 pretty easily this time because I knew all the tricks and where to go. Went through it before but restarted and changed my character to a female (Called her Elisa Day; 10 points if you know where I got that from) so I could wear that executioner chick's armor. Unfortunately because I don't have high enough stats in armor-wearing or whatever, I can't wear the entire outfit.
Also just bought a used copy of Far Cry 2 off Ebay ($10). Put in the winning bid during the last 12 seconds. Probably ruined someones day

Nick Cave... What can I do with my 10 points?

IX is my second favorite, but held the top spot for a long time. Was the first FF game I ever played, and it's an amazing story and I love it love it love it. End was good, but didn't make me tear.
End of X killed me. The whole thing was just... UGH! And then I played X-2, like 5 times, because I am in love with that story. Not the greatest game, but definitely worth getting.
Greatest thing about X was the ending, but the second greatest thing was, by far, Blitzball. I fucking loved that shit.
We're off topic now, but I had to share my thoughts on the subject. I really disliked XII, and as much as I try to make excuses for XIII, it's left me quite disappointed.
I loved 10 as well. The ending was perfect, which is why I will never play 10-2. 10's ending MEANT something. For God's sake, the guy not only killed himself to save everyone, he blipped out of freaking existence for them! For them to make a sequel where Yuna can get him back, just boggles my mind how they could destroy a gesture so beautiful. (Plus they turned a Holy Summoner into a...popstar wtf?)
12 and 13 don't interest me. I heard the gameplay reeks in both, and as for 12: I'm playing FF Tactics right now (which also takes place in Ivalice) and the Shakespearean political intrigue doesn't... intrigue me. (Don't get me wrong, Tactics gameplay is actally pretty fun)
The only FF I haven't played that I want to is FF8. I skipped it in favor of 9 because the fans on the FF boards are so split on it.
I didn't like 8 that much. The thing I've always loved about Final Fantasy is the somewhat cartoony/unreal feel to it, but 8 tries really hard to be realistic.
MGS4 (not best MGS but still great game)
Wipoute HD
Little Big Planet 1&2
Yakuza 3
Valkyria Chronicles
Folklore
Demon's Souls (fun but only on first run, yet worth playing)
Ninja Gaiden Sigma (but avoid Sigma 2 like a plague it's a crap)
Resident Evil 5
BlazBlue: Continuum Shift
there are more but that's what came to my mind now.
no god of war? for shame
i'll add GoW 1 to 3 to that list and batman arkham asylum.
i'm currently playing and getting my ass beat at marvel vs capcom 3.
I loved X as well, but I sucked at blitzball. IX and XII were also great. I couldn't stand to play X-2. XII was a little boring, but over all it felt like a final fantasy game. So far the only thing in XIII that makes it recognizable is the chocobo chick in the dude's hair.

Hmm.. Sounds like Tactics, great gameplay but a story that's not for everyone. I might try 12 one of these days then. 8 first though.
Got this in the mail today and have been playing it for the better part of an hour. Not sure if I like it just yet.
just tried the map editor and it's a pain in the ass to use.

UPDATE: Just listed the game on ebay. Interesting concept but the delivery blows.
Also just bought Just Cause 2 from my work. Actually played the demo to that and it was a hell of a lot better then Far Cry 2.

And no I'm getting pissed off at Just Cause 2...
The game map is just too damn big and getting around is frustrating. Just took me almost 10 minutes to get to my next mission location in a fucking helicopter. Game is in desperate need of a fast-travel system.

Dude it's a SANDBOX GAME. Enjoy it.
I'm trying but I just can't.
Feels more like a chore then anything else.

I tried to play Uncharted 2, but it downloaded a bunch of updates and now i just get a loading screen with a spinning dagger on it. THANKS
I hate sandboxes, they seem so pointless to me.

Returned it, got Red Dead Redemption instead. Wild West here I come!
I got Deadly Premonition in the mail today. Not the best graphics, but I've read really good things about the story/game play. It's only like $20, so you can't expect much in the graphics department. It's been compared to Alan Wake and games like that. I'm actually excited to start it tonight.
So the story on this game sounded so good.
And it has a real Twin Peaks vibe to it.
The writing is terrible though. And to shoot your gun you have to: Hold right trigger, aim with left joystick, and then hit the green button. All that for one bullet... So you can't move around while you're shooting. This fact alone might make me never finish this game...
I'm disappoint.
I don't play many shooters but isn't that how CoD is played?
No - Call of Duty, you can either pull right trigger and it will shoot from the hip or pull left trigger to aim and right trigger to shoot. And you can move when you're shooting.
This game it's way to complicate and unnatural. I get an anxiety attack every time I see a monster (or whatever they're supposed to be) creeping toward me. lol
I've been trying to get a bunch of torrents and emulators to work for the past week to no avail.
I now when I've been defeated so I hooked my PS2 back up.
Damn you PS3? Why can't you be cool and backwards compatible like the 360?
Anyways, I bought the GOTY edition of Borderlands. Love the game but I'm forcing myself to play through the game once so I can start a New Game+ before getting into any of the DLC.

just finished Force uleashed 2 for the second time and am looking forward to the new castlevania: LOS DLC. i'm still playing super street fighter 4 and tekken 6. i also see dissidia 2 in my near future.
haute cature and getting hauter
Lol your name is a Scott Pilgrim reference.
I LOVED THIS GAME. Seriously. It was great. I never finished it though, now I'm going to have to go dig it out and play.
Have you seen if the game is compatible with ScummVM subby? That's a super easy emulator if the game is compatible. And DosBOX isn't half as hard as it looks.
Also, I am a huuuge adventure game nerd.
I must hang my head in shame and admit I've been playing a ton of The Sims 3 lately. I've been using my 42" LCD as my monitor and just lying down in bed with a mouse and mousepad and it's freaking awesome. I will probably start playing more PC games now.
Also, been playing some Reach. I have no idea why, because I can't stannnnd that game, but I have all the same. I'm going to start playing Amnesia soon. Heard too many good things to resist it for any longer.
I'm playing Radiant Historia now, and game is really great. I didn't expect it will be so good. The story, art-design, music and battle system are all top notch. I highly recommend that for anyone who loves JRPGs.

I have got the platinum trophy on bayonetta so I am giving it a break. ANd started Darksiders... and bored me, so I started red dead redemption, wich bored me too. So I thought that I gonna give Just cause 2 a chance but to my surprise it bore me too..
So finally I got my hands on Bioshock and so far im enjoying it.
The thing is that I have a post Bayonetta trauma. Its the game I have enjoyed the most in a long time and every other game seems dull now.
Just bought Perfect Dark and Limbo off XBLA.
Been trying to play L4D2 but nobody uses their mics so it's extremely frustrating.

Portal 2 on Steam and it is incredible. Played a few of the co-op chambers with Polumna the other night too and that is also amazing.
I love that co-op isn't just the single-player mode with 2 people. They really did a great job designing chambers that require teamwork.

I'm holding off on buying games until I get myself a "real" job (that I can see myself moving out and sustaining myself with) BUT
When I do, the first thing I'm buying is Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds.
