What games are you playing right now?
i played 1, 3, 7, 8, and 10. 10-2 kinda put me off, and from what i've seen, i don't think i'd really like the combat dynamic of 13.
wait, you game? *boggles*
It's not nearly as bad as it looks. I'm playing XIII and I'm loving it. It's fast-paced and the story is very touching. Vanille is annoying. For that matter, so is Fang. I'm at a point in the game where the action has slowed quite a bit, but it's not ruining the game for me. I understand some of the critiques about it's being fairly linear, because so far there is no where NEAR the amount of free exploration as in the other ones, but I may not have reached that point yet. That said, FFIX was open map very early, even if there was a lot of places you couldn't go, but there was plenty of options. This sort of chooses for you for the most part. I still really love it. Fang and Vanille ruin the characters for me, but Sahz and Snow are my favorites. Sahz is this hilarious guy who lost his son, and Snow is a headstrong, self-proclaimed 'hero' who is doing what he can to save his fiancé. As I said, very touching.
yeah, the characters seemed kinda meh too, at least to my flavor. im glad you're enjoying it though!
After the nice break from constant FPSing with Heavy Rain and God of War I, I tried playing some online Bad Company 2 last night and just couldn't get into it. Need something story driven, but not an RPG right now - I always have to 100% them, and have to steal and resell anything that isn't nailed down. It's a compulsion. I'd go back and play the Fallout 3 episodes they released with GOY edition, but even that's too FPSy right now.
Maybe I'll finish Shadow Complex, then run through God of War II. I miss old timey Lucasarts style adventure games - Day of the Tentacle, Sam & Max, Full Throttle.
REALLY excited for Alan Wake come May. That will be BRILLIANT.

X-2 was shit. What an awful, half-assed, gimmick of a game. XII was okay, but nothing special. I've heard some pretty great things about XIII. A friend was talking about square enix taking things in a new direction again and working on revolutionizing the console rpg like they did with VII. I don't know if any of this has manifested in XIII or if its talk for the future, but he was talking about combining the things the Japanese have done for gaming with the things Americans have done in recent years; instead of totally ignoring American contributions to the world of gaming.
And yeah. I'm a geek.
edit: its a shame you missed IX. It was a good one! I don't know if it would still be enjoyable to play it for the first time now... but I'm sure its really cheap! Actually, I have it somewhere.... hmmmm, i wonder where....

IX is my favorite following X. That was an all around great game. There was plenty of side questing too, especially considering it was on the PSX. Of course, it was four discs, but so worth it. You can probably buy it on the PSN like you can with the other games. I want to buy FFVII and replay it. It's only 9.99 on PSN
That's my one gripe with the ps3 really, the lack of backwards compatibility. FF7 was great, and I could play my original discs, but I can't replay X. Meanwhile I'm having a blast with the original Xbox's 'Indigo Prophecy' on my Xbox 360.
I'm relatively new to the PS3 though, I forget the PSN store is even there.. wonder if they have Final Fantasy Tactics...
they do. same price as 7. It's actually one of the top downloads which surprised me.
oOoOoOo... the FPS break continues!
I lovvve FFs
Of the NES ones 2 is my favorite!
Of SNES 4 is my fav!
Haven't played all PSX ones yet, getting there.
PS2: FFX.
PSP: Dissidia!
FF7 consumed months of my life. Months. Those were the days. I'd still play it if i had it.
I'm currently playing Final Fantasy XIII. I think it's very good so far. The soundtrack is disappointing though.
Final Fantasy X still has the best soundtrack.
What I have shown you is reality. What you remember... that is the illusion.
just played Final Fantasy 13 and Heavy Rain.
Final Fantasy X still has the best soundtrack.
Absofuckinglutely. That was an amazing soundtrack.
Maybe of the 3D ones...
I adored Heavy Rain! Can't wait to see what Quantic Dream puts out next.
Finished God of War 1 & 2 last night, now waiting for Splinter Cell: Conviction and especially Alan Wake. I think I'm going to actually order the collector's edition guys - this game is gonna be GREAT.
pacman.
xbox- bioshock, dead space and COD 4 nazi zombies
ps3- grand theft auto

just finished god of war 3. kind of surprised at how short it was - i finished it on hard difficulty in under two days, without really altering my schedule much. still, great fun. i figured it would be all button mashing when i started the trilogy, but the combos, upgrades, variation and storyline kept me engrossed.
now beginning splinter cell conviction, and, tmorrow pre-ordering alan wake.
oh yeah, i score a free two month trial of gamefly, it's like netflix only for videogames. anyone have any 360/ps3 recommendations? i want to make the most of my time. just list any games you loved, if i haven't played them i'll give them a go.

Half life 2!!! finally got the orange box lol. best deal evar. also, left 4 dead 2. good ol' Valve
Call of Duty. My husband's addiction to it wore off and I started now. Something about shooting at online strangers makes a days worth of stress just melt away.
360: Modern Warfare II, PC: Civilization IV (BTS), PC Browser: Lord Of Ultima - all at the the same time.
Mom's gonna fix it all soon.
Rise of Nations. Hell yes my Rome will destroy your Aztec hillbilly whacked ass empire!

Ign just put up a first look preview for the new fallout. I'm so excited!

Vegas looks sweet.
I played the crap outta some Heavy Rain and now I'm waiting to see if Alan Wake is better or worse.
I'm enjoying blasting zombies with my shotgun in Left 4 Dead. I'm not much of a gamer, but I could play that game all day!

Hours of Lego Indiana Jones today.
This is why we can't have nice things.
After beating FF13 I had the desire to go old school. So currently I'm playing FF6 and I must say that Kefka is one of the greatest villains ever.
Hi, How Are You?
We can be friends now. Kefka rules. He's not the sum of all evil or a far away alien. He's just a man. A really really sick and evil man.

I've conquered the world many a time on Rise of Nations. I like how you can conquer a bunch of empires and the rest of them are allies and then there's nothing left to do so you have to turn your back on your allies and destroy them.
N+ on my DS. I think I might have just beaten it, but it's hard to tell.

I've been hooked on Left 4 Dead 2: I unfortunately cannot stand the myriad of imbeciles and morons who chose to either speed through the levels at an alarming pace, or decide to fuck around and molotov enemies that needn't any molotoving, resulting directly in myself getting caught in the cross fire. I need some good team mates, any fellow cultists out there massacring zombies that can help me out, please drop a message.

I downloaded Portal for free off of Steam (it's free until May 24th) but I don't have the graphics chip for it. (If only I could do this on my parents' new Windows 7 computer instead of my crappy handmedown Windows XP computer but I could never get away with that as my dad is paranoid of viruses)
Any tips?
im playing the alan wake waiting game! my art book arrived in the mail today, but the game wont be here until the 18th.
i think imma marathon through it
also, lost ends that weekend.
it will be a very trippy time for berto, indeed.
I'm playing through Borderlands right now with my younger brother. Also title-hopping through my collection trying to decide on a current single-player endeavor. I think Red Faction: Guerrilla is in my 360 right now. I've given it an hour and enjoyed myself, but I'm thinking that hitting things with a hammer will only hold my attention for so long... Worst case scenario, I decide the real thing would be a lot more enjoyable. I think something old school might suit me right now though.

3D Dot Game Heroes on the PS3 is getting most of my free time right now.
Although I'm still trudging through Just Cause 2 on the PC.
Anyone heard of an indie title called Sleep Is Death??
Loud-Mouthed-Pop-Culture-Junkie
Yep. Not sure what it is as they don't really tell you until you buy it.
I'm still enjoying FF13. Not very far into it yet, though.
thanks for sharing.blackhawk tactical pants.

look into the future about 24 hours and you'll see me in a room with blackout curtains, playing alan wake marathoner style.
must remember to load up on sedatives tonight, get more than four hours sleep to prepare.
Man, Ulduar is fun. Do you get to ride the motorcycle through the whole instance or just for the weekly? I was like "YEAH chopper! Shoot waves at the Flame Leviathan! Spray oil!" It was fun.
must remember to load up on sedatives tonight, get more than four hours sleep to prepare.
And we haven't seen him since...
I want to buy Alan Wake. It will be the next game I buy when I'm in the mood to buy a game.
I've been playing off and on - the extra stuff in Splinter Cell: Conviction.
it was fucking brilliant.
a return to games that tell a compelling story! plus, it's been ages since a game has put knots in my stomach. so well done.
check your PMs, sir.

That prequel video was awesome. And then that got me watching some of the gameplay videos. I'm convinced that I NEED this game now.
Thanks Berto
I'm playing World of Warcraft and Half-Life 2..Working on the Portal achievements I need sometimes too..
I'm waiting for my husband's MW2 addiction to wear off so that I can prestige at least once before Black Ops comes out! >.< Sansa, I'm major jealous that yours shook his addiction! Between that and the World Cup I can only manage to squeeze in the odd game of Guitar Hero 4..Hard times.
Well I ain't sure but I've been told,
He's baking cakes inside our souls.
just finished uncharted: drake's fortune a day ago. great game, though i really felt let down by the gameplay of the last chapter. one of your sidekicks, elena fisher, i couldn't help but calling her alison in my mind throughout, she really reminded me of alison haislip, both physically and with her kick-ass, adventurous personality.
yeah, okay, so i crushed on a game girl for a minute.
just started uncharted 2, good times so far. really breathtaking camera work and perspective shifts in the first level, and the stealth elements introduced to the series in the second level have me excited to finish this one.
im playing RED DEAD REDEMPTION, one of the few games ever that i think looks better in 1080i than 720p. yeah yeah, i got a bargain basement brand TV, being clearance-ed, apparently from a time when things under forty inches didnt get full HD power.

Well ever since Steam was available to the Macs I have been hooked ever since. I barely play my 360, Red Dead Occasionally, and intermittently putting games just to remind myself how they played.
But honestly as I keep getting glued to Steam Games. Team Fortress 2 is way different on a computer and I can play against people on the PC so there's always someone.
The one game I am really loving right now is Killing Floor. It was cheap too ($10) and I think they even put it at a lower price now.
TF2, Killing Floor and Civ IV are pretty much all I play now. Both the PS3 and the 360 are gathering dust in between.
and now that they keep charging $10 for almost every freaking DLC, I rather just buy cheap games like Killing Floor on Steam. I recently got Counter Strike for $6.80.
So...We are still going to die. Right?
The Summer Sale that is currently running on Steam is full of ridiculous deals. Some of the daily sales are insane.
I am still on my quest to beat the numbered Final Fantasys. I've beaten 1-7 and 10.
I am now playing 9 on PSP thanks to the PSN.

i am!!! I also just got NBA 09 for psp....does anyone else? If so, hit me up for a game.
