What games are you playing right now?
Fair enough. Let me know when you're sure of what you think.
But I also bought the cult classic PS2 game Psychonauts on the PSN store. Everyone goes on about how great that game is and how much Tim Schaffer is a genius. I'll admit his characters are clever and well written, but for right now, the game is slow moving. But it's been a while since I enjoyed a good 3D platformer so I'll stick with it.
...And I'm officially into it. It is so good. It's up there with Banjo Kazooie and Donkey Kong 64 as one of the best 3D platformers out there.
Sure the tutorial like beginning makes you start kind of slow learning the basics and abilities, but once you get into it, the game's charm takes over.
The characters are really interesting, and you would think this aspect only affected the story, but no. Instead of jumping into paintings (Mario 64) you jump into people's brains. Your coach's brain is a war zone. Your groovy teacher has a dance party in her head.. Etc... I'm surprised this idea was never made into a show on Cartoon Network.
You get a bunch of psychic powers like telekinesis, pyrokinesis, psy waves, invisibility, etc...
And the main character is voiced by the guy who played Zim in Invader Zim. Every line of dialogue in the game is spoken. There's not a single line of dialogue just read. No. You hear everything.

Now I am playing Lineage2 godness of destruction. I think it is one of the best online game.
*heh*
That's quality spamfail.
This is why we can't have nice things.
Just got NHL 13. I've never really owned a sports game before, and so far I've been loving it.

Mostly Black Ops II. Bought and played through Spec Ops: The Line the other day. Good but extremely short. Going to try and resell it for more than what I paid for it.
Also bought Skyrim for the PS3. Heard a lot of stuff about how ass the PS3 version is but I've also heard it's gotten a lot better. Guess I'll find out for myself soon enough.

I just beat Psychonauts. It is a gem of a game. If you're interested, pick it up cheap.
Though I remember hearing everyone's least favorite level is the Meat Circus level. They are right in their opinion. It doesn't help that it is the last level of the game. You and the main villain's brains get mixed up and since his dad was a butcher and you come from circus folk, everything in the level is circus themed, though everything is made of meat and bones.
It is an exercise in frustration. First you have to protect the child version of the main villain by climbing higher and higher using trapezes and tightropes. (I hate those flipping tightropes). Also, during the four staged final boss, the second stage has you climbing again with water rising beneath you.
Anyway, other than that, it is fun as heck. Check my previous posts as to why.

I just bought Retro City Rampage for the PSN (also available on XBLA and PC) The guys who made it had worked on it for years and is a real labor of love. It is kind of like Grand Theft Auto if it were on the NES and filled with tons and tons of references from games and tv shows of the late 80s and early 90s (the game even starts with a Dark Knight reference and I just highjacked Bill and Ted's time machine phone booth). There are even segments when you do things from the games they reference themselves.
I really want this but it hasn't come out in the UK, despite being 2 years old, grr.
Currently obsessed with Boggle for iPhone.
What's wrong with me? I have a bunch of games I haven't beaten, but I decided to start Final Fantasy 7 again (this time on my PS3 because last time I only had a PSP). I'm naming the characters (I LOVE doing that) after more relevant friends in my life (last time the characters were mainly friends I had in college).
Oh, I also beat and got all the power ups of the SNES game Mega Man X in what would have been one sitting. I know all the secrets of that game by heart. Sigma never stands a chance. One of these days I should do a naked run where I'm not allowed to use any power ups (except the dash. They kind of force that power up on you). THAT'D be a challenge.
I have several tabs open and I skimmed your post while thinking this was the Health/Fitness thread. The main thing I understood was that you want to run naked, because you can't carry power ups in your pockets.
I'd like a few power ups. I don't think it'd be cheating.

Oh Jess. You're thinking about me being naked again. You flatter me.
I was the only one? What is everyone else thinking about?
I was thinking about how I can't get into Dishonored at all.
This is why we can't have nice things.
You weren't the only one. You're just the only one enough guts to admit it.
Also, I really like Arkham City...
This is why we can't have nice things.
That's some good shit.
Pål Martin really liked that game.
I haven't really turned on my xbox in months. And then my brother got me Dead Island for Christmas - I asked for it. Anyway, why was the trailer for this game so amazing? It's basically just a constant scavenger hunt while zombies are in your way. I'm not going to lie, I'm really fucking disappointed - especially since it's the first game I've sat down to play in a really long time.
That sucks. I wanted to play that game. Thanks for the heads up.
I used the code that came with God of War Sagas to get a month of free PlayStation Plus. I downloaded all the free games for it that appeal to me.
Super Street Fighter 4:..........I suck at fighting games....
Darksiders: So generic it almost hurts.
NBA Jam On Fire Edition: Fun diversion but I don't see myself paying for it to keep it once I lose it when the subscription ends.
Mega Man 9: Great! 2D NES style Mega Man!
Mega Man 10: This is the game I have focused on to beat before the subscription ends. It's pretty difficult. I'm at the Wily Stages.
I've been playing Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch on PS3 and it is BEAUTIFUL. Great story, amazing soundtrack, brilliant gameplay. It's, so far, my favourite game (that isn't Animal Crossing) I've ever played.
Dang. That looks good Amy! I just watched a video review of it.
Okay... okay... I FINALLY started playing Skyward Sword last week. I'm up to the water dragon part. My thoughts so far...
Way... too... easy. Haven't died once. Haven't been stumped about what to do next. Aside from a few cool exceptions, the "puzzles" are no longer puzzles. They're just brief annoyances that make it look like you're doing something, when really you're just moving some boxes or going where the tip of your sword tells you to go (like towards Zelda, teehee!), or fighting the same annoying little monster that has no business taking anything off your health, but it does because the game constantly respawns it, making it fucking annoying to be patient about attacking it at the right time, so you'd rather just swing away with frustration, cuz you just want to advance from the banality of this step towards the main boss, and it costs you a heart at a time. The game is padded with endless jabber from idiot characters that say entirely too much, making the whole thing way too simple, and not too mention two or three characters repeating the same information so much that you just become more frustrated with having to hold A and keep pressing it so they can shut the hell up. The controls? Yeah, they're immersive, for the first hour. But then it gets boring, and you just start making tiny swings with your wrist, hoping it swings at the right angle, which it rarely does. The art style causes some colors to clash that shouldn't, and makes it so everything looks the same, and you lose your sense of direction pretty often.
Aside from all of that, I'm hooked because of the main story. I hear the ending is incredible, and the levels are actually starting to get better. The Silent Realm trial was intense and done very well (Artistically speaking. The moment it goes into fucking-hell-they're-coming-for-me mode, you freak the fuck out, and the adrenaline starts pumping. It's scary. The moment you grab another gem, and it becomes super tranquil again, the feeling of relief is so fucking satisfying.)
But overall, this game is not living up to the hype at all (TP was better). Not yet. We'll see. These puzzles better start getting challenging. How about just good puzzles and a bunch of mini bosses, with the occasional room full of tiny monsters that, together, do make for a fun challenge? Why not? That would make a good Zelda game. Who knows. Maybe that's coming up.
EDIT: Okay, it came up. Ancient Cistern dungeon was great. Beautiful to look at, love the whip, no annoying monsters, decent puzzle (though only good if you don't read the clues), and a pretty badass boss fight. Let's hope this keeps up.
Si vis pacem, para bellum
Before that game, Zelda had no timeline. But fans just whined and whined for continuity so they released "Hyrule Historia". A big book that connects all the games. I never needed continuity.
It makes me drool! Truly exceptional.
Amy, woah. I so want to play that game now....
Went to GameStop to buy Hitman: Absolution. Ended up buying the HD Hitman Trilogy and Hitman: Absolution. I'm gonna be busy for a while!
I've been playing Hitman 2: Silent Assassin. It's not as good as Blood Money. But it's not all that bad. I'm probably (hopefully) 3/4 through it. I really just want to play 2 and Contracts to say I've played them. I've already beat Blood Money - it's one of my all time favorite games. I can't wait to get to Absolution.
I just beat Skyward Sword. Now it asks me if I want to play the whole thing again Hero Mode? What!? Fuck that! ... Maybe in a few weeks.
Si vis pacem, para bellum
I beat Mega Man 10 last week. Pretty good. Though they really screwed up in the character development part. (But who plays Mega Man for the story?..... I do...) At the end of 7, MM is so angry, he wants to kill Dr Wily. He's about to, but Bass teleports in and saves Wily and says, "He who hesitates is lost." At the end of 10, MM takes Wily to a hospital... Whatisthisidonteven?
Now I'm back to screwing around with Scott Pilgrim. Beat the game as Kim. Now I'll play as Ramona.
Sheeeeit.
I'm just love to play RPG Game like a "Battle For Wesnoth"

Sheeeeit.
Groan. This is honestly the first generation where I can't see a difference between it and what I have now.
The difference is around the upper center of the button box. Get it together Mike. Even I knew that.
Now I'm back to screwing around with Scott Pilgrim. Beat the game as Kim. Now I'll play as Ramona.
Now that I think more on it. I guess MM, even the one in 7 can never kill Wily. MM no matter how hard he may try can never break the three laws of robotics. In other words, he can never kill humans.
Which is I guess the difference between Mega Man and Mega Man X.
At the end of Dr Light's life he puts X (what happened to MM?) into a time capsule and X awakens in the future. There, it is Dr Light's hope that X can choose a life of his own.
I am playing FallDown on BB device.

I still feel like I'm getting a feel for it, and can't really give a verdict. I don't hate it though. At least there's that.
This is why we can't have nice things.
