This is me too. Play together? (Probably would be the most boring game ever).

At least we'd both feel like we have a chance!

I want to buy a new game. Nothing that's like a new release because I won't spend more than $30 on a game.

My favorite games are Hitman and Rainbow Six Las Vegas 1 & 2. I also think the Assassin's Creeds are pretty good. But I don't feel like getting that involved in a game right now.

Somebody recommend me something! Smile

Going off the examples you gave me it sounds like you enjoy games where you can either sneak around picking off baddies one-by-one OR go through guns blazin' if you're in the mood. Some suggestions:

Splinter Cell: Conviction - Fun stealth shooter. Lots of shooting dudes while hanging from pipes, stuff like that. Game can really make you feel like a badass. Campaign is short, but sweet, and there's an addition co-op mode that you don't necessarily need another player to get through. $20 most places, cheaper if you look online.

Batman: Arkham Asylum - Haven't played it but I do have Arkham City and from what I hear they play assentialy the same except Asylum is in, well, a creepy insane asylum, and Cuty is set in, well, a dilapidated city-prison. Lots of sneaking around and brawling with a bunch of baddies. If you like the Assassins Creed games you should love this. Again, Asylum is $20 most places, cheaper online.

Crysis 2 - Scifi shooter where you fight PMC's and aliens in NYC. The gimmick of the game is that your suit has a stealth mode that turns you invisible so you can get all tactical and sneak past dudes. Or sneak up behind them and slit their throats, your call. Or just turn on the armor mode and blast your way through the levels. Has a pretty sizable campaign, one of the best I've ever played through, and an online mode which is basically CoD with invisibility and super-jumping. As usual, $30-20 most places, cheaper online.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Action cyberpunk RPG. Lots of ways you can approach situations too depending on what upgrades you choose like either sneaking past a room full of dudes or hacking a sentry and having it kill everybody. And save for boss fights you can pretty much go through the entire game without killing anyone if you want to. Or you can impale every person you see with the metal spikes that come out of your arms. Your choice. Either way, it's a fun game. $30-20 most place, cheaper online.

I really like Splinter Cell Conviction! Good rec. Also Arkham Asylum was pretty good too.

I've been thinking about Deus Ex. I've wondered if it was any good.

Also Crysis 2. I've heard of it, but didn't know anything about it.

I'll have to check those two out. Thanks Justin.

Glad I could help.

You may also want to check out the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, I Am Alive (It's on XBLA), and the last two Fallout games. All involve sneaking around to varying degrees. I only played the demo to I Am Alive and wasn't crazy about it but it has a lot of climbing and requires you to be resourceful and avoid conflict so I thought it might be up your alley.

Anyway, I just bought Saints Row: The Third. Used some Amazon credit I had so it only cost me $5 out of my pocket.

I need to take a very long vacation from this game. My knuckles are bruised from punching the wall. Seriously, no other game does this to me.

Not when I get quick-scoped in CoD.
Not when I get team-killed outside the safe-room in L4D.
And not when I get killed Dark Souls and I lose a thousands of souls.

But there's something about this fucking game that makes me want to find the game designer and reenact the elevator scene from Drive on his fat, stupid head. I guess we all have that one game that just drives us crazy, and the Uncharted 3 multiplayer is mine.

So I need to take a break from it. A long one.

Or just, you know, play co-op instead and avoid competitive matches.

Trying Bioshock again. This time with a guide. Finding it more fun this way. Being killed over and over isn't fun but when I know where these weirdos appear, it actually makes the game fun..

The Splicers? You know after you've cleared an area the game just starts randomly spawning them and they'll just wander around the level until they find you.

Anyway, Bioshock, good game. Bioshock 2 is great too. A bit more linear and the story isn't as great but the gameplay is better. Multiplayer isn't too shabby either for something that was tacked-on. Can't wait for Bioshock: Infinite, which I think comes with a free copy of the first Bioshock on the PS3.

Been playing Uncharted 3 co-op and it's so much more, well, relaxing isn't the right word, but I haven't raged once like I do when playing the competitive multiplayer.

Just preordered Borderlands 2 and Dragons Dogma. Dragons Dogma looks pretty great. Weird how Japanese developers are starting to do medieval fantasy better than western studios.

I'm a slow, shitty writer and I can't just force myself to sit down and write like most people, I have to be in the mood for it, which is not often. I wish I could do that because I'd probably have a couple of projects done by now but I just can't. Working on it though. The review I mean. And my problem with writing.

Awesome, Hattie. If I had the yearning to play video games I would get that, just for old time's sake. Currently I am playing MLB 2K 12. It's the only game I play. I created a player (me) that has to get to the big leagues. I am a pitcher currently in the farm system (AAA). It sounds about as boring as it seems, unless you really, really like baseball.

I sold my 360 and used the money I got for it to buy a sleek and expensive PC case.

Now if I only had enough money left over to actually buy the stuff to put inside it to make it playable...

Ah now I'm remembering the first 3D Spider Man game for Dremcast. I beat that game so many times. The final boss was Doc Ock with Carnage's symbiote. Freaking scary.

That's good. When I said, "We used to be obsessed with it" ... what I meant was... "We found it this weekend and holy shit although we got to the end, we still have like 40 skyscraper tokens left to find and this will not stand."

My sister and I used to be obsessed with it.

So we were playing it yesterday and we noticed this weird marker on the map. For some reason, I'd always thought it was a bank. Why a video game character would need a bank, I don't know but lines and ATMs are boring compared to fighting crime soooo neither of us had ever checked it out.

It turned out to be Mary Jane's apartment. She left Peter a recorded message... something like...

Hey Peter, I've been waiting for a while... I guess you're running late... umm... sigh... I'll just meet you at the restaurant... hopefully you're there already...

Cue timed race to the second location. Then my sister and I have this conversation.

Me: When did we stop playing this game?
Sister: Ummm... we only played it for a couple of months... so like... four or five years ago...
Me: We're the worst boyfriend ever.
Sister: What really worries me is this girl's self esteem.
Me: She didn't even get mad when we got there!
Sister: Pretty pathetic. We must be incredible in bed.
Me: Now it's weird. You've made it weird.

So we've put the Playstation 2 up for another half decade or so.

Dragons Dogma

Things I like:

-the general feel of the game.
-awesome character creation.
-how big the world feels.
-combat/magic system.
-how the game turns into survival horror when the sun goes down.
-the Dark Souls level of difficulty.
-micromanaging, something I actually like.

Things I don't like:

-graphics are a bit iffy.
-lowish frame rate (looks like its stuck in the mid to lower 20s on PS3)
-BAD pop-in. Some characters will pop-in three feet in front of you. it's crazy bad.
-pawns never shut up. Fine with just my one but when I have a group it can get sort of annoying.
-how rigid the classes are. Even the mixed classes are pretty strict in what you can and cannot do. I started out as a Mage and was going to become a magic archer but that class doesn't seem to enable support spells and neither does the other mixed magic class. And you can't set your knives or staff as a secondary so you have to pause and switch back and forth in the middle of battle. I may just stick with Mage for now.
-having to press a button to continue conversations.
-how the difficulty sometimes forces you to have a full party.
-that awful main title screen song. Who thought that was a good idea?

Things I'm undecided about:
-no fast travel. Annoying but reminds me of Morrowind in that it forces you to explore.
-my pawns Mohawk.

And I used the credit I got for preordering to buy FEAR 3 (Again) and the 2008 Prince of Persia game.

Well it was more like her apartment had a message for me. I mean, that doesn't happen in real life. It's annoying because the rest of the game so was so true to reality.

Playing Rondo of Blood. Possibly the best pre Metroidvania Castlevania game ever.*

Some count it down a few points for being too hard. I actually like it because it feels really rewarding to beat certain parts.

*Metroidvania is the style of Castlevania game that, instead going from level to level beating the boss at the end of each, you explore an entire Castle (or planet in Metroid) becoming more powerful and earning abilities that let you explore more places and eventually make it to the final boss.
