I am at the final colossus. Beat 2 others today. Thought I could finish it tonight but the final battle takes too long.

Gotta hide. Gotta dodge his attacks. Gotta get close to him. Gotta climb. Gotta climb some more. Gotta stab his back. Gotta jump on his hand, stab it..etc...you get it. It never ends...until you get to his head..but it's difficult.

If I plan on getting any good sleep tonight, I'm not going to try to take this thing down.

Maybe next weekend.

Played a little over an hour of Ico last night.

There's something very special about this game. I think my rut is over.

Almost there Berto! I haven't played SotC this weekend yet but that last Colossus is going down.

MGS2. Trying to get used to the dated visuals and antiquated gameplay mechanics. I could just skip it and move on to Snake Eater but I want to play them all in order.

Syndicate is fun too but I haven't played much of it. It and the HD collection came right in the middle of a serious Skyrim kick so all I can think of is playing that.

I played the demo to American Nightmare and while I liked it I didn't like it enough to drop $15 on it right then and there. I think I'm just going to wait fr it to go on sale.

PS. If anybody here has a PS3 and has any interest in Killzone, the multiplayer for 3 is going free-to-play next week. Well actually,, it's more like a free trial. You download it and can play it as much as you want but after you hit a certain rank you can't level up anymore or collect trophies. If you like it enough to want to conti ue playing, you can pay $15 to unlock the full multiplayer experience. If you like shooters it's worth your time.

Ok. I have quite a story to tell.

I was playing SotC last night. Tedious and long the final fight was. Beat it. Watched the ending cinematic and before it completely ends, the power goes out and comes back on quickly at my house. Not enough to knock out the clocks, but enough so that my PS3 didn't recognize that I had beaten the game. So this morning, I beat him again.

Now onto ICO. Kind of quieter of a game than SotC... I hope I like it.

Also, I had some PSN cash I hadn't used in months so I bought Scott Pilgrim. Looking forward to playing it with friends. I just wish I had 4 controllers.

Just beat Syndicate.

Fun and challenging gameplay upset by a barely-there story.

In your opinion, which video game has the most compelling story? I honestly have yet to find one that really gripped me.

Story is a major factor for a good game for me nowadays.

MGS3 honestly does this for me. Also try the Uncharted series. It doesn't talk down to you, with an intelligent story. Sure the format is generic but it does everything, including story, very well.

Oh yeah, yesterday I found out Justin's avatar is an enemy on the movie set level of the Scott Pilgrim video game. I didn't know that before.

Just beat The Darkness II. Got it on a free rental this morning. It was short, but fun. I fell in love with the little Darkling sidekick you have throughout the game. He's just so adorably crass.

Going to go through the Vendettas real quick before I have to return it tomorrow.

I didn't know that either, cool! never played the game because I'm not really into beat-'em-ups but I liked the movie and have been interested in the comics for some time.

Anyway, I'm giving up on MGS2. The 30 minutes I played of Snake Eater was infinitely more fun then the 6 hours I wasted away on that game.

I play a ton of Black Ops, but I think my disc is wearing out or something. I bought Battlefield 3, thinking I would like that, but I really hated it, mostly because of the fact it doesn't have a free-for-all, which I was naively unaware of when I bought it. If my COD finally dies I might have to switch over. That, or wait for CS:GO, which I kind of miss from my younger fps days.

I don't want to play ME 3 until I play ME 2. I don't want to play ME 2 until they finally goddamn release ME 1 on the PS3. Does it make since to only have the sequel for a system?! No!

Dark Souls PA: Bought the Book of the Guilty and a couple of Indictments and plan to join the Darkwraith covenant as soon as I'm able to. Soon all these assholes who keep invading my game will feel my wrath!

James and I are playing a game of chess right now, since yesterday. Have it set up on the dresser, with a marker to move to the other side of the board to signal it is the other ones turn whenever you get around to making your move.

I haven't played in years so he will likely whoop me, but then again, there is no pressure to hurry up and move, neither my opponent staring me down, plus I like to make absurd moves that turn into perfect sense later once I figure out why I did that.

My grandpa taught me when I was in kindergarten. I think I used to be somewhat decent at it, but it has been years since I played. But yeah, I'd also like to get good, by adult standards.

My brother was really good. He won an all state championship for some club he was in when he was 12.

Last time I played, I remember now, was against Zachariah (my youngest son) when he was eight. I was trying to take it easy on him for the first half of the game but he was really thinking hard the whole time, by the time I realised he was a formidable opponent there was no hope for me.

haha nice.

I have absolutely no strategy. I don't even know how to strategize (is that even a word?). I just know how each piece is supposed to move. So I always lose.

I used to know some strategy but I forget it all now mostly.

I think this long game we are playing will be nice because it gives time to really think. One or two moves a day or so, definite time to try to think ahead for what you are doing.

I've always wanted to have a game by snail mail, I just think that would be quite a bit of fun, and a reason to keep writing your pen pal promptly.

Doing that would be cool. I've seen that in movies, but I never thought anybody ever did it. (Chess through mail that is.)

Hadn't played Battlefield 3 in over a month so I decided to take it off my shelf and play a few matches of Rush.

10 minutes later I'm ejecting the disc and putting the game back on my shelf, where it'll probably sit for another month untouched, neglected.

Can't belief I spent $50 on that unplayable headache of a game. Should have just bought Bad Company 2 again for $20.

Still playing Uncharted 3. Thinking about buying the Fortune Hunters Club pass for $25 before the last bit of DLC is released. $25 for a bunch of DLC that easily costs twice that? Sounds like a solid deal.

I bought a really cheap copy of Brink and tried to get back into it but playing by yourself with a bunch of brain-dead AI's is boring and every match is just a painful reminder of what the game could have been in the hands of a capable developer.

Speaking of that, I made a late New Years Resolution for myself: Don't sell any games for a year. I've probably bought, resold, rebought, and then resold just about every game I've ever owned. I just have a hard time keeping a bunch of games at once, especially games I don't play enough. But almost immediately after selling a game I regret it and a couple weeks later will want to play it again and will eventually buy another copy. Happens without fail. It's an annoying bad habit of mine that's cost me a lot of money but I'm trying to get over it

I really should just sign up for Gamefly.

The way you buy and sell games, you would save so much money Justin.

It's a loss for me since I buy a game every few month and rarely play. But you are the perfect candidate for it!

I was in a retro game shop the other day and came across lots of Gameboy games. It brought back all kinds of amazing waves of nostalgia.

I miss Super Mario Land 2 Sad
