What games are you playing right now?

I'm spending too much money.

Games on my iPad.

Jetpack Joyride is the best iPad game I ever played. And if you want it for free, "like" the app store on facebook from your iPad and it will give you a code for it.

But, more to the point that I've spent too much money, Target is having a sale this week. Buy any 2 games, get one free. I got the ICO/Shadow of Colossus Collection, The first Batman game (I've yet to play it), and because I need more multiplayer games, Portal 2.

DC Universe is F2P now on PS3. It's a 25GB download though. Took me 14 hours to download that fucker.

MW3 and Skyrim. That's why I haven't been around here in awhile.

MW3 is great. Campaign was fun and the multiplayer is rock solid. Only thing that's really disappointed me so far is that there aren't as many lens reticule options as Black Ops had, like the option to have a pink heart or yellow skull. And speaking of Black Ops, I've been thinking about getting it again because I really have been wanting to play Zombie Mode. I never really gave it a chance first time around because it had the Left 4 Dead problem of nobody using their mics which was really annoying.

Skyrim is pretty sweet too, but it's not without it's problems I'm not digging the dragon fights as much as others because they have a tendency to show up at really inopportune times and I'm a magic dude and all my spells right now are getting pretty weak so every battle is a 10-15 minute ordeal. And I'm not sure the decision to have all the conversations take place in real time was a good one because more then once I've been in a situation where I'm talking to someone and another NPC wonders by and says something or starts a conversation with another NPC and it will completely drown out whatever the original NPC I was saying to me. Also at one point I was fighting some vampires and this guard dude showed up out of nowhere to talk about some random event that had just happened and he just stood there calmly talking to me while vampires hacked him to pieces. There are some other, minor problems (a lot of the same problems Oblivion had) but so far the game is amazing and I couldn't really ask for more.

But so far I'm ust got married to that Orc smith in Markarth and he's moved in with me. Now I'm thinking about getting rid of Lydia because I never liked her hanging around my house and now that I'm married I see her as a threat.

I don't get into video games like I used to, but Skyrim has intrigued me. Rather than spending $60 on a game I might not like I picked up Oblivion for $20 to get a feel for what it might be like.

I hate it. It moves slow, its first person, and for the most part I have no idea what is going on. I'm only on what I think is the second quest and I just keep dying. Boo.

Is Skyrim a lot like Oblivion?

Oblivion/Skyrim can be played in third-person. Most just choose to play in 1st because the character animations are less-then stellar and it'[s easier to aim spells and bows but I don't know, that may not matter much to you.

And yeah, Skyrim is a bit like Oblivion, but it's a lot more streamlined and user-friendly and the story is a lot better. Oblivion's story sucked. It took a long time to get going and when it did it became apparent that you weren't really the star of the story, this other completely forgettable guy and you're only part in the story was basically to run errands for this dude while he worked on saving the world.

Skyrim story is basically "Dragons are fucking shit up and you're the only one who can stop them because you got dragon powers. Go fuck shit up." It's simpler and automatically superior to Oblivion's because it's more involving and you pretty much get all that information within the first few quests. The rest is just figuring out the who, why, and how's and slaying dragons to eat their souls and get more cool dragon powers.

you may have just sold me on it, but I'm still afraid I won't get into it. I've bought five games for my ps3. Katamari, Little big planet, dragon age (the first one), final fantasy whichever it was, and oblivion. The only one to hold my interest was katamari...

I'm starting to think video games just don't do it for me anymore.

Try watching some playthroughs on youtube. That's what I do when I'm on the fence about getting a game. If 20+ minutes of gameplay doesn't make me want to play the game, I probably won't get it.

Try reading a bunch of reviews too.

Do a lot of those games have a 3rd person option? I refuse to even look at a bunch of FPS because I can't stand 1st person, feels like I'm wearing horse blinders while playing. Does Dead Island have a 3rd person option?

Most of the games I've seen that have that 3rd person option are RPGs, like Fallout and Skyrim, etc. But I don't know about Dead Island. Zombie games seem to be 1st person as a standard, but I could be wrong.

I just saw a commercial for some new Zelda game. The one where all the swords are falling from the sky and they crash through the roofs into some kid's table and he pulls it out like he's going to play the game and I thought "That's a pretty great idea. Making one of their Wii controllers designed as a sword. All those Zelda nerds will be creaming their pants to own on!" But then they cut to a shot of the kid actually playing the game and it was just the regular controller.
Do they have sword controllers? How the heck do you miss getting in on that cash cow?

I think they do. What I love are the Robin Williams Zelda commercials. He actually named his daughter after Princess Zelda!

Taking a break from Skyrim. Going to play more Crysis 2, Bioshock 2, Lost Planet 2 (Lots of 2's in my library), and all my other neglected games.

Recently bought Dead Space 2, Vanquish, and Shadows of the Damned. Going to try and get another copy of Black Ops for cheap and then after that I probably won't be getting any more games for awhile.

I've been playing Skyward Sword for a few days. I'm only working on the third dungeon and I already want to say that it's better than Ocarina of Time. The motion controls are unbelievable. It's finally 1-to-1 so wherever you move the Wiimote, Link's sword moves too. And there are a few RPG elements and a few platformer elements that work really well.

AAAAAAAHHHH!! I CAN'T WAIT TO PLAY IT!! Seriously, I'm way too excited about it. I never, ever play video games. But there's just something about Zelda games...

Careful guys. There's a game breaking glitch in the new Zelda.

I KNOW! I read about that. I'm scared of it. I wrote a post-it note to myself about it because I don't really understand the instructions yet. Something about the Song of The Hero quest. I'm being vigilant.

You don't pick a class in Skyrim, you just level up the skills you want and play to your own style. And instead of picking a birth sign they have these things called Standing Stones scattered around Skyrim you can visit.

I've been playing Crysis 2. I still have my problems with the game i.e. I still think it's an ugly, buggy mess of a game, but the campaign (Which I still haven't finished) is solid and I like the look and feel of the game. I just wish Crytek would have worked more on making the game stable then just using all their resources to make it look pretty.

Waiting for my copies of Shadows of the Damned and Black Ops to get here. I'm actually excited to play Black Ops again. Been itching to play play Zombie Mode.

Playing Zombie Mode in Black Ops and having a blast. Anybody still play this? I need people to kill zombies with.

currently playing infamous. i'm almost a two-thirds done and i've concluded that cole is everybody's bitch.

I really tried to like that game, I did, but the combat was just horrible.

i think it's alright. it gets repetitive and right now, im maxing out good karma.

it just takes a ton of effort to be bad, randomly killing people. i got infamous 2 and i heard it carries over the karma from 1. we'll see.

Yeah, a lot of the quests repeat. I just remember having a lot of fun with the game.

Dark Souls/Demon's Souls until my copy of Killzone 3 gets here. They patched Dark Souls so that the first merchant dude you run into now sells the Bottomless Box, which makes inventory management a hell of a lot easier.

And I'm thinking about getting AC: Brotherhood because I found it online for cheap. I've never played an AC game but I've heard mostly good things. Just afraid that that I may not like it and that the multiplayer, the part that intrigues me the most, will be a ghost town now that Revelations is out.

PS. While I was writing this some dude invaded my world in Dark Souls and killed me. What a cunt.

Anyway, got the Uncharted doublepack for Xmas, and Bioshock 1. I spent most of Christmas beating Batman Arkham Asylum so I could start another game. Otherwise I'd never beat anything. Overall Batman was fun but could have been a stronger game which I suspect Arkham City is. More villains too.

From what I played of my new games, Uncharted is fun and movie-like. Bioshock is going to take some "getting into" because I don't much care for 1st person shooters, but I really dig its atmosphere. Hope the story is good too.
