What games are you playing right now?
I made a bit of research, turns out it's not halted per-say, but they're developing it with the next generation of consoles in mind. So it'll be awhile.
Right now I'm trudging through L.A. Noire. Am I in the minority here in thinking this game is unnecessarily long and tedious? I think this game would have been a lot better if they'd just focused on you being in homicide. Maybe add some more cases not related to the Black Dahlia stuff and keep all the street crimes in. That would have been fine. Instead I'm stuck doing more bullshit cases in Vice.
And the Condemned games did the whole crime scene investigation a whole lot better.

mmm.. condemned
good memories.
thanks to the amazing sales steam has been having all week, im now re-playing deus ex: game of the year edition.
for $2.50
Just beat L.A. Noire and I'm, like, seething. Seriously, fuck that game.

why?
Long, tedious, boring, padded, disjointed, anticlimactic, etc.

good memories.

Steam wants all my money this week. And if I owned a PC, I would give it all my money. So instead I just got the orange box, and left 4 dead, and left 4 dead 2, and torchlight, and I'll probably get counterstrike... and then something else I want will be on sale tomorrow too...
And still, I play team fortress 2 the most and it was free. Stupid loss-aversion psychology.
"...human speech is like a cracked tin kettle, on which we hammer out tunes to make bears dance when we long to move the stars."
I wonder if Counter-Strike 1.6 will work on my netbook...

I love that my Mac is powerful to run most of the Windows games I've bought from Steam via a virtual machine.
Screw dual boot. This is pimpin' comfortably.
I play Dragon Quest VI. Despite stupid plot and medicore characters it's pretty fun.

MAG.
Like the game but I'm like a bad luck charm. When I'm on defense we'll lose all out controls points in minutes. When I'm on offense we'll go 15-30 minutes without making any progress and lose the match.

Dear Bulletstorm,
I'm sorry I said all those mean things about you when you came out. You are an awesome, shamelessly fun game. Please forgive me.
Your friend,
Justin

I still think playing Bulletstorm is an equivalent of playing with a poo.

Some people like that.
This is why we can't have nice things.
i like you.
Although I'm not much of a gamer, Minecraft really got to me lately.
Bulletstorm was awesome. The most fun I've had with a game in quite awhile. This is coming from someone who hates the type of games it's trying to emulate (Serious Sam, Duke Nukem, etc). Great level design too, very colorful. Only problems real I had were: A) Cutscenes graphics were icky. They looked a lot worse then the rest of the game which is the polar opposite of most games.
Not enough skillshots. Ended up doing some maybe 100 times. This game had I think 137 skillshots, something like that. Next game should have 1370. C) Skillshots give you too many points. Towards the mid-point of the game I had so many points that I could pretty much fully upgrade every gun, fill them all with ammo, and still have a huge surplus a points left over. And D) No co-op for the single-player campaign.
Anyway, I'm in the process of selling a bunch of my old games. Singluarity is going bye-bye and so is Bad Company 2. Times is tough.

Old game, but I've started playing it again now that I have a steering wheel for my PC. It's pretty kick ass.

I couldn't stop playing Beyond Good and Evil. Then got stuck. Not major stuck but enough that I've gone back to FF8 until I finish it.
Sure you can't name the characters like you can in all other early Final Fantasy games, but that hasn't stopped me from doing it in my head. But you can name your summon monsters which is...weird. Hasn't stopped me from doing that either.
It might interest you guys to know: I named 7 different characters after Culties. Three playable characters and four of them summoned monsters.
Hey, gimme a break! Between the playable characters and the summoned Guardian Forces there are like 20-25 people/monsters to name.

catherine.
wonderful.
what exactly is catherine? ive seen it on gamefaqs but unfortunately i do not at this time have the means to rent/buy it or even play it.
Ive been playin plenty of PC games since its all i got over here, namely "Stalker: Call of the Prepyat" or somethin of that nature.
"Automatic"
If you can find a way to download the free demo of Catherine - even at a friend's place - I'd suggest you do. Gives a great idea what the game is like without spoiling anything.
I just finished a marathon play session. Loving it. It's a romance / horror story wrapped in absurdism and puzzle gameplay. Absolutely fucking loving it.
No one ever finishes an Atlus game. lol
false;
i've finished: bonk's adventure, tactics ogre, guilty gear, tactics ogre: kol, and a few other's im sure i've got in my stacks.
have yet to finish: catherine.
yet to start, but will finish: demon's souls, 3d dot heroes, trine 2, dark souls.
they could use some better naming conventions on some titles, though.
MW2. Feels good to be back.
And I'm giving Farcry 2 another chance.

A continuation from my last post about what I'm playing:
I just summoned Tuffy for the first time. I needed 6 of 3 specific items to do it. 666...Lots of demonic allusions in this game.
The summon is a demon train. So when naming it, my thoughts went... demon train...dump truck..Tuffy.

You're also in here Justin. You're the Tonberry summon. A little green guy with a knife. Fits your avatar.

Good god this forum has been DEAD.
Anyway, I bought Episodes from Liberty City but got bored with it so it's going in the yard sale pile. The game is also ugly as fuck. Hasn't aged well at all.
Guess it's back to splitting time between MW2, Bulletstorm, Demon's Souls, and Farcry 2 until my copy of Enslaved arrives. Liking Farcry 2 a lot better this time around.

Well, what do you expect? It's PSP game converted to the PS2.
I never finished Enslaved. I should go back to it. There's nothing wrong with it. It's just a little too... linear. Get through obstacles, upgrade your abilities. It has a nice story though. Despite it though, I got bored easy.
I beat FF8 a week or so ago.
All of the PSX FFs and on (FF7-FF10) have gotten me emotional (FF6 too if you count Celes' attempted suicide if you choose for her grandfather to die), but not FF8.
Sure the gameplay was fun but the characters weren't as likeable and at times used rock stupid logic (you look all over a school for a principal but forget to check his fucking office??).
I'm not going to spoil anything but the emotional part of FF9 (my favorite) was pretty similar to 8's, but 9's was done so much better. I actually believed these characters would love each other. But not in 8.
In case you can't tell, story is very important to me in a game. Especially an RPG. Afterall, I am PLAYING A ROLE!
Well, what do you expect? It's PSP game converted to the PS2.

Sorry. Mixed it up with Liberty City Stories. Don't have to be a douche about it. Besides why would you buy a disc of nothing but DLC?
I already beat the main game years ago, never got around to the expansions.
I mostly played Ballad of Gay Tony. It was pretty good. Good writing and voice-acting all around. Liked that Gay Tony wasn't a complete stereotype. But I still had the same problem I've had with every GTA game thus far: after a few missions, I just get bored with everything. I have that problem with a lot of Rockstar's games. I think I only played through GTAIV and L.A. Noire because I'd paid full price for those games and wanted my money's worth. I only paid like $12 for this used so I don't see it as that big of a loss. I'll probably sell it for more then I paid for it anyway.
Only played the first mission of Lost & Damned. There's something about biker gangs that gets on my nerves. Don't know what it is exactly.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
Got it for $40 on release
Nostaligic flashbacks to the original Deus Ex, kinda.
It scares the shit out of me that some people are capable of this.

I never got any satisfaction out of arcade games that you can play for free. Unlimited continues destroys any semblance of challenge.
I play a lot "Last Chaos" a free MMORPG and some car games like "Need 4 Speed"
Play best

InFamous.
It sucks.

Now I know we have nothing in common videogamewise. Infamous was pure fun. The definition of a sandbox game.
I just can't get into the combat. All I end up doing is blasting guys with electric bolts between hiding behind bins because all it takes is a few gunshots to kill you. I'm not a superhero, I'm just a cunt with a fucking taser!
Everything else about the game is alright but I can't play it more than 5 minutes without getting frustrated. And this is coming from somebody who can play Demon's Souls hours on end for the fun of it.
Thankfully, I got the game for free. If I had paid for this I'd be royally pissed.

im in a gaming rut. i've got a good healthy 'to play' pile sitting here, mocking me, but nothing looks enticing right now.
im geeked for crysis to be ported to the ps3 next month, and some great games are coming out. i'm just sad that nothing in my collection is appealing, and can't figure out why
Demon's Souls.
Just beat two more bosses and am searching for shardstones to upgrade some of my weapons. Got to put those demon souls to use!
Wish I was getting that nifty collectors edition of Dark Souls. My only chance is if the $50 Amazon gift card comes through in the next few days and I can quickly preorder it before the end of the month.

and then straight to the trade-in pile? that game was little more than alpha protocol, if it were made by asian writers.

The main character of that game looks like he belongs on the cover of one of those cheap scifi shovelware games you see all the time in Walmart and discount stores.

This just happened

Sega Genesis Collection and Resident evil 5. both for ps3! I need more recommendations for ps3 games though!

How is it? It looks amazing. That's another one I was really looking forward to and won't buy until the price drops. lol
I bought 50 dollars worth of PSN bucks. Got "Limbo". Freaking awesome. Eerie as hell..errr..I mean limbo. Giant spiders will haunt your dreams.
As for PS3 recommendations:
Uncharted series
God of War series
Batman Arkham series
Bioshock series
I asked for the ICO + Shadow of the Colossus collection for my birthday.

Yeah, I gave up on it.
I did get Manhunt to run on it. Works pretty well.
Also have Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge and will probably reinstall Deus Ex sometime in the future (I installed it once and it ran well but made my computer run hot and since then I've gotten a cooling pad thing which helps a lot).
Been playing Lost Planet 2 and L.A. Noire which I've been trying to do without looking up any of the answers and it is NOT going well because I honestly can't tell if there's a difference between somebody who's lying and somebody I should doubt. You practically need to be a body language expert to get through the interviews.
