What games are you playing right now?
Been playing COD MW a lot, getting ready for number 2. Can't wait.
There is no proper way to cope, no everlasting grace.
Just a flame on a river floating away.

“...There are so many ways of being despicable it quite makes one's head spin. But the way to be really despicable is to be contemptuous of other people's pain. You ought to have some apprehension that the man you see before you was once even younger than you are now and arrived at his present wretchedness by imperceptible degrees.”

I've noticed you mention Game of the Year editions a few times throughout the year. Maybe they were all in regards to fallout3, I dunno.
But what's so special about Game of the Year editions for games? Do they have extra content in them or something? Or is it just like the old PS2 Greatest Hits type thing, where they just slap a fancy banner across the top of the case and knock it down to 20 bucks?
"Game of the Year" edition kind of implies there's only one, whereas "Greatest Hits" would be plural for all the games they've knocked down in price. Just curious.

The GOTY edition will come with all of the DLC that's been released at $60.
To me, it's just a matter of being cheap and saving money. The original version new (even today) is $60. Each of the five DLC packs that have been released are $10 each. So if you really want everything, by the time you've downloaded Mothership Zeta (the last DLC), you will have spent over $110 on one game.
"It is true, that which I have revealed to you; there is no God, no universe, no human race, no earthly life, no heaven, no hell. It is all a dream - a grotesque and foolish dream. Nothing exists but you. And you are but a thought - a vagrant thought, a useless thought, a homeless thought, wandering forlorn among the empty eternities."
ahhhh ok. This whole DLC concept is still alien to me. It's weird to think the game is no longer solely on the disc you buy.
I'm with you on that Nate. I don't have a 360 or a PS3 or a Wii.
THEN YOU WILL DIE ALONE.

WE WILL DIE ALONE, TOGETHER.
yep.
and it's getting worst. Developers are releasing less content on games, and dividing things to charge you more in DLC.
Games are getting very expensive these days.
So...We are still going to die. Right?
That's going to end up biting them in the ass one of these days.
It'll bite us first before it bites them. 60 bucks is waaaaaaaay too much for a video game extra content or no. But we pay anyway...
yep.

I think Microsoft is really spear heading the "let's break one game into two (Halo 2 and 3) and withhold already developed content so we can sell it as DLC and way overcharge for it in a month" racket.
Just go look at the Xbox Originals marketplace. I bought Max Payne 1 and 2 for a total of three dollars and they're selling the games for $15 or $20 apiece. And Bioshock, which I saw going for $10 in the store back in January, is priced at $30 in the marketplace. Not to mention the $20 GTA IV add-ons.
Anyone who has bought anything from the LIVE Marketplace, especially DLC, is a rape victim. Myself included.
I'm lying.
Whatever. I'm still going to buy Banjo & Kazooei off XBLA when I can afford it.
$15 is a bargain compared to what some people are charging for a copy of it on Ebay.
Will probably get Trials HD too. That looks fun.
Shit, I have 107gb's of free space now, might as well start filling it up with a bunch of arcade games and useless stuff.

i played little big planet a little bit over the weekend. it was pretty funny, that's an interesting game. it reminds me of earthworm jim or worms even thought there aren't any worms in it. it was a trip playing it. also i played a demo of arkham asylum, which is fun and really cool but it's too easy. so many games these days don't require much skill, they're really just interactive movies.
When does God of War III come out?
March 2010!
So...We are still going to die. Right?
I just bought a real-life Mahjong set! Suck on that and spin! Comes with a bottle of whiskey and a gang of kickass Filipino friends!
and no, it's not that matching game
This matching game?

I'M NOT YELLIN'! THIS IS THE WAY I TALK!
Crash Course DLC came out for the 360 today. It's alright.

I am afraid to buy it. No one on my list plays L4D anymore.
So...We are still going to die. Right?
Started playing Fallout 3 again. Already cleared it, now I'm just doing the DLC stuff. Operation Anchorage was neat, if only for the prize at the end.
I've also got Magic the Gathering downloaded for the 360. Just messing with it for now though.
yep.

Actually it is worse than that. Some DLC is not downloading new content but actually a digital key to unlock things that were on the disk already. Pretty unethical.

i downloaded this game called gunZ last night and i ended up playing it for like 2 hours straight. it's stupid fun, all you do is shoot the shit out of people and run up walls and slice people with swords over and over again. i didn't try the quest mode but the deathmatch is manic fun.
I just found out there's a sequal to Okami coming out on the DS, it's actually making me want to buy one.
!
Fallout 3. Love this game despite all it's bugs and problems. Hate how the frame-rate drops when there's too much action going on. It was most apparent when I was following Liberty Prime to the Jefferson Memorial.
Just finished the main quest on Point Lookout. Will finish up Broken Steel next then maybe Mothership Zeta.

Borderlands. I cannot stop playing it. It's driving me insane, in fact, because even when I'm not playing it, I'm still thinking about it while doing other stuff.
Somebody help me.

I feel good about the Prince of Persia movie. I played the game through twice.
It's made by Disney so it can't be any worse than the Pirates of the Caribbean sequels.
been sawing at the steering wheel with FM3 the last 48 hours... very nice

Been playing my copy of Tiger Woods '07 that I forgot I purchased way back when I first got an 360.
I kinda suck. Though I'm starting to make more and more birdies and eagles.

Modern Warfare 2, of course.
I rented Dragon Age: Origins for the PS3. It was O-K, not worth investing 100 hours for me though.
Liked: some of the play mechanics while fighting in a group were well done, for instance while casting a fireball it let's you line up the shot so as not to hit any paryt members. As a whole it looks like they put a lot of work into the game.
Didn't like: despite being made by Bioware the art looks heavily ripped off from Morrowind and Oblivion by Bethesda. The characters are all done by the character editor and look like shit. People wear armor while just walking around and swords just stick to their backs as if they were magnetic.
The story is not terrible but isn't interesting either, pretty derivative and made me not give two shits about the back story. Characters so far have been pretty wooden, annoying, whiny and stupid.
There are a lot of dialogue options but usually only one "right" one. So you have the option of saying "I'm honored to meet you" to King or pretty much telling him to "Fuck Off".

I recently downloaded Sims3 and I'm loving it so far. I was also a fan of the previous games, but it got old 'cause I'd done and seen everything. Now with this new game there's tons of new options, new things and yeah, I'm not even close to being done with exploring it all. [And finally my Sim can have freckles! =P]
I love The Sims 3!
On 360 I'm playing Arkham Asylum.
What I have shown you is reality. What you remember... that is the illusion.
Just started playing Fable 2. It's the first RPG I've played since the dire Final Fantasy 9. It's really good.
Don't rub my rhubarb.
I'm getting myself a PS3 for Christmas and I saw MGS4 is only 30 bucks, so I'm getting that. Also I'm getting Arkham Asylum for my nephew so I'll be borrowing that from him to at some point.
Arkham Asylum is great. They just announced a sequel, which looks like it will expand into greater-Gotham.
I'm playing Assassin's Creed 2 a lot right now. Fantastic game, so far my favorite of the year.
still playing a lot of modern warfare two, only a few pieces of intel left in the single player campaign. been focusing mostly on multiplayer, which feels like a new ballgame from the multiplayer i was used to in the first game. so many changed dynamics. great time, though.
i just bought arkham asylum for my little sister's boyfriend for christmas. hope it's as good as the reviews say, he's a huge batman guy.
I started playing Arkham Asylum last night at my friends house, I thought it was awesome. I particularly liked the bits when he's been drugged by the scarecrow.
I am playing:
Final Fantasy 7 on PSN (PSP)
Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks (DS)
LittleBIG Planet (PSP)
I was playing Fallout 3, but ran into a crazy glitch that Megaton all wanted to kill me, no matter what save I returned to. It was sick, I still only had a police baton.

i played through the scarecrow drugging and beyond last night, i thought that bit was brilliant. playing a drugged and fucked batman was a blast. the game is so cleverly presented, and deep with all the bios and characters it contains. i wish they hadn't drawn harley like a whore though.
i've taken a break from modern warfare 2. too many boosters / glitchers. shame infinity ward is so slow to fix things, letting a great game be dragged through the mud.
oh well, there's the joker to be nabbed!
I've pretty much been stuck on Modern Warfare 2 since it came out. Played multiplayer for the longest and was actually getting pretty good then took a break and now I'm total shit.
I've also been playing Trials, that motorcycle game. Other than that, I don't have time to play anything else.
Currently playing Avatar on 360.
What I have shown you is reality. What you remember... that is the illusion.
On 360: Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection; Sonic 1, 2 & 3... and a little Altered Beast in the mix for good measure.
Street Fighter will be next weekend.
And usually Poker Stars once or twice a week lately.

just finished out arkham asylum on the 360, it was brilliantly constructed. the scarecrow nightmare hallucinations were amazing, i was never a superfan of batman, though i dug him; this changed that. i now have a pair of graphic novels to get through. also, first time i've ever wished for a ps3, if only for the exclusive joker bit, though i know there's not much and i can just play it at a friend's place.
started mass effect for the second time yesterday, i think it might stick this time. i could not stay with it the first time through, mostly because it was competing with fallout, my franchise of choice.
my inner game nerd, his heart is pumping again.
never thought i'd see the day, but i'm considering saving for a ps3 to go along with my 360. it started with the niggling grating at not being able to play the ps3 exclusive joker bit in arkham asylum, which wasn't really a big deal but it was a rub.
this game, heavy rain, to be released shortly, has me seriously debating making the purchase. it's slated to be a noirish, mature game like no others i've seen before, wickedly emotionally charged and with an unprecedented control scheme. the dark, brooding serial killer story is really calling out to me.
heavy rain preview with video @ gamespot
anyone have any thoughts on this title? there are a couple of other ps3 exclusives i'd like to play eventually, but this one definitely has me thinking about buying very soon.
Don't go to the dark side!

Yeah, I played it for a few hours. I was disappointed, but I haven't played enough to form a proper opinion. I do plan on finishing it if I can.
