Top five games ever!!!
Superbug, I kept falling off when I was climbing Babel Tower.
Sorry, my computer's deranged and I can't seem to quote people properly.
"Now, that is a big trunk. It holds a tuba, a suitcase, a dead dog, and a garment bag almost perfectly."
I have a theory people who play Madden don't play Final Fantasy. I hate FF. It sucks, I hate the genre it sucks, I love sports games. And people who play FF don't play Madden. They suck.
Well, I know three people off the top of my head that don't fall into your theory--me, my brother, and my best friend. Perhaps because the town we lived in was so small that we had find different ways to entertain ourselves, so we played any sort of sports game (i usually suck at them) and any sort of fantasy game (i was decent) that struck our fansy.
there were some complete coppies in europe or something like that. I DL'd an .ISO of thrill kill a while back and played it with a ps emulator, it was alright. It would have kicked ass if it had came out.
WHY WAS I NOT INFORMED????
so boring, if you ask me, like hitting one button for 89 hours. like the stories, htough. what's up with final fantasy X-2? by the way? spend 67 hours being a j-pop star? sheesh!
i know you weren't talking to me, but i'm going to give my 2 cents. look at my number 1 pick. Tennis 2k2
I love my glorified pong. so simple, but so addictive. no fancy tricks. just great fun.
WHY WAS I NOT INFORMED????
informed of what?
informed of what?
That there were copies of the games available.
It was a joke, gone horribly, horribly wrong.
lets see:
Super Mario ( SNES)
Donkey Kong ( SNES )
Max Payne ( PS2 )
Dynasty Warriors 3 ( PS2 )
Halo ( XBOX )
yes!
My brother says:
Final Fantasy VII
Dragon Warrior IV
Super Mario Bros.
Duck Hunt (1st ever 1st-person shooter)
Tekken
Top five games:
5. GTA: Vice City
4. Halo (or Halo 2, possibly)
3. Ratchet and Clank, original
2. Super Mario Bros. 3
1. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

5? thats not enough! oh well
1. GTA3/GTA:ViceCity
2. Soul Calibur series
3. Manhunt - Have many played this?...not the flashlight game you ass.
4. Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec
5. Silent Hill series
Others: Metal Gear series, Tekken series,Virtua Fighter 4: Evo, Tetris, Goldeneye 007, Super Mario, Onimusha series, Metroid, DOOM and Unreal/Unreal Tournament.
...Plus some of the Resident Evil games, Silent Hill shits on most of them though.
I havnt played Halo yet, on XBOX or PC. Jesus im lame...
I'd like you to tell me that you are a false prophet and that God is a superstition.
kidrage27, i don't mean to come across as a dick or nuthin', but you probably shouldn't come to this site, touting in your signature a quote from a story you wrote that's obviously ripping off a line from Fight Club. just wanted to point that out.
btw, have you checked out the writer's workshop yet?
5. max payne (xbox)
4. zelda: ocarina of time (64)
3. GTA vice city *
2. Need for speed underground (xbox)
1. halo and wen halo 2 comes out
* i noticed people were putting this down for ps2...i have it for x box, is any different for the ps2?
p.s. im gunna add a pc game...star wars: jedi academy
all we are, is shadows on the wall
3. GTA vice city *

Yeah, it has better graphics and custom soundtrack.
In no order
Splinter Cell
Onimusha
Fatal Frame
Mario Party
Secret Of Mana
oh, mario party rocks. and the first couple mariokarts.
1. Chrono Trigger(snes)
2. Final Fantasy VIII; way better than VII in terms of graphics, music, plot...everything
3. Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past(SNES)
4. Silent Hill 2
5. Mario Kart 64
In the end, we all get lobotomies. - K
Now I'm all alone. Kept the pain inside.
Wanna torch the world, cuz I'm breathing fire.
oh, mario party rocks. and the first couple mariokarts.
yah i love that DoubleDash
1. secret of monkey island
2. battlefield 1942
3. panza kickboxing (amiga)
4. battlefield vietnam
5. great giana sisters (c64)
Final Fantasy Tactics
Super Mario Kart
Silent Hill 3
Super Smash Bros Melee
Zelda: Ocarina Of Time
...and if you tell anyone that, that bush is there, i will come to your house, and i will cut you...
hmmm...
1.)Ninja Gaiden(XBOX)-I was going to say the original, then I remember that the original TRILOGY can actually be played in its entirity on the XBOX version.
2.)stryder(NES)
3.)Tony Hawk 3(PS2)
4.)Half-Life(PC)
5.)FABLE(XBOX)-WILL be the best game ever
honorable mention goes to X-men(SEGA) for having the most brilliant riddle. those who know what I'm talking about know what I mean.
I forgot to mention
Super Mario RPG
Mario Bros. 3
Killer Instinct
Mortal Kombat 2
I give you all a century, just a century. Things are gonna get rough..
Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64)
Contra: Alien Wars (SNES)
Donkey Kong Country 1 and 2 (SNES)
Mario Kart (SNES)
Super Mario Bros. (NES)
honorable mentions:
Halo (Xbox)
Golden Eye 007 (N64)
Super Mario Land (SNES)
Yoshi's Island (SNES)
Marble Madness (NES)
Metroid (NES)
The Karate Kid (NES)
I always thought that Mario Kart for N64 sucked ass. Screen/Camera rotation was always way too slow. Also, I can't wait for the new Zelda game on the GameCube. Not the cell-shaded one, the new one featured at E3.
Way Out West
5. Hitman 2 (Xbox)- Stealing costumes and killing people with fiber wire was never so cool.
4. Thrill Kill (PSOne)- You get to fight as a redneck in a diaper who uses a severed arm as a weapon.
3. Halo (Xbox)- Will probably get knocked off the list when Halo 2 comes out. Still fun to play this until then.
2. Ninja Gaiden (Xbox)/The Sims (pc)- A tie between these two for me. I just rented Ninja Gaiden Friday and it is fawesome. Then it's fawesome times two when you get ahold of the nunchuks. The Sims took so much time away from me. I even became attached to certain Sims.
1. GTA: Double Pack (Xbox)- Two great games in one. Custom Soundtrack. Being able to listen to the Natural Born Killers soundtrack while causing havoc is heaven to me.
I've done much thinking and I'd to say that Thrill Kill shouldn't be number four on my list. It should really be Donkey Kong Country on the SNES. It had some pretty advanced graphics in it's day.
5? thats not enough! oh well

you liked manhunt that much?
it was something new at least, but I didn't find it that riveting.
Let guy spot you
let guy chase you
hide in shadow
guy walks away
follow guy and kill him with shopping bag
this was like the gist of the whole game
except for being chased by a giant naked pig with a chainsaw, that was deliciously fucked up

Obviously, at least eighty percent of the viewers of this site became interested in Chuck Palahlaniuk because of Fight Club and its enormous popularity. Now, when you say I shouldn't come to the site directly because I ripped off Fight Club, you come across more as more obvious than 'dick'-like. I know it's like Fight Club. Maybe you should have read the story and understood I was bending the genres of FC and A clockwork orange (which, by the way, a reader immediately noticed).
I don't know if I should be ashamed for paying homage to my favorite writer and for taking a general idea of his and appropriating it into my own style. Maybe you just didn't understand how I tried taking the parts that associated with my younger generation from both movies/books and exaggerating them to the extent of my liking.
Maybe you just didn't read anything.
Let's not forget that I've already admitted I understand how "similar" and "copycat" it sounds when you read a quote that only relates to half the book. And I wouldn't use his names and personalities because I wouldn't want to stain them with my ideas.
btw, have you checked out the writer's workshop yet?
Yes, I have. And everybody hates the book for the above reasons.
And btw, I don't need for you to accept me. (see quote)
I don't need your sympathy, you won't get mine. (see quote)
And don't ever tell me what to do.
Fucking asshole.

3. Zelda A link to the past (snes)
4. Ice Climber (nes)

1. Grand Theft Auto 3/Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (ps2/Xbox)
2. Half Life (PC)
3. Conker's Bad Fur Day (N64)
4. Final Fantasy VII (ps)
5. Resident Evil/Resident Evil 2 (ps)
knock it off you guys, quit taking this thread off topic.
Not in any particular order (coz its pretty difficult)
-Zelda Ocarina of Time
-Final Fantasy 7
-Mario 64
-GTA Vice City
-Perfect Dark

5- Grand Theft Auto: Double Pack (Xbox) Jsut never gets tiresome. Pixies + Extreme Violence = Heaven
4- Super Smash Brothers (N64)- Pure, gooey multiplayer goodness.
3- Tony Hawk's 2 (Playstation)- An amazing game, the only reason I ever played on my PSOne.
2- Ninja Gaiden (Xbox)- Simply, the best single player game I have ever played. And it gets better next Monday! (Now, if I can only find that last Scarab.)
1- Halo (Xbox)- I don't know why. It's just inexplicably great, isn't it? Though the single player has faded a little recently, I still play multiplayer one and a half years on.
1. Grand Theft Auto 3
2. Gran Turismo 3
That's all I've got so far.
Whoops, I almost forgot to say all are for PlayStation 2.
PS2
1. GTA series
2. Devil May Cry (1 and 2)
3. Getaway
4. True Crimes
5. The Suffering, Resident Evil Outbreak, Primal all tie for last
Computer
1. Fallout (1 and 2)
2. Baldurs Gate 2
3. Vampire Redemption but I am sure Bloodlines will be better
4. Diablo 2
5. Hitman
That Alice game was cool too.
Oh and Morrow Wind: Elder Scrolls is the Best!
1 - super Metroid - The single greatest action game ever made. The ability to gain so many powerful moves and take on huge bosses is a sorely missed aspect of videogames. Most new games focus on killing as many things as possible, not the big bosses. The fact that this could be completed in under 3 hours means nothing as it can be played so many times and never becoming stale.
2 - Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - The first game I ever owned was the original LoZ and this was the most epic of them all.
3 - Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past - This entire series is great!
4 - Goldeneye - My friends stopped playing this game with me because I learned how to kill them before they could even start. Since you must stand up from a crouching position when you re"spawn" a proximity mine will detect you and blow the living shit out of you before you fully stand up. I simply memorized the areas where you start and voila!
5 - Mega Man 2 - Not the first game I owned but an eternal favorite as it was the first to show me how great a game can be. Great music too!
Yes, I am an old-school gamer, and for only being eighteen, I dread the eventual collapse of all that I loved when Nintendo and Sega collapse as they will eventually do.
Shit, I totally forgot about the Fallout games, especially Fallout Tactics. Basically anything that has Zelda, Metroid, Kid Icarus, or F-Zero in the title is going to be good.
Also, it seems to me that the lists that are comprised of old games have Goldeneye on them and newer XBOX and PS2 heavy lists have Halo. There is definitely a divide between old-school and new-school gamers.
Lastly, you can like Final Fantasy and Madden games at the same time if I am any sort of example. They're both thinking games, but in different ways. In Madden it's about the players and plays of the game while in FF it's about juggling your magic and equipment, that's all.
It's not worth making a new thread for, so what do you believe to be the greatest video game franchise ever?
I would instantly put Mega Man, but I haven't played msot of the newest releases, but the originals will always be timeless.
So I'm going to have to go with The Legend of Zelda games.

You have been deprived.
1) Final Fantasy VII (PS1, 100+ hours played)
2) EarthBound (Snes)
3) Mortal kombat (Genesis)
Goldeneye - My friends stopped playing this game with me because I learned how to kill them before they could even start.
I forgot to mention Dynasty Warriors (3 & 4 counting in Xtreme Legends as well)
I think that still only brings your count to three including the BBS game. Your a muse with poor math skills.
