Pro Evolution Soccer
Anybody else on here a fan of the series and fancy chatting about it?
Not sure if it's the type of game people on here would dig, but for me every installment is a masterpiece and i geek over it in the way real games geeks get exciting about Final Fantasy and Halo etc.
Final Fantasy? What the hell am i on about, this isnt the freakin' 90's and i'm not still at school. Sometimes i forget how fast my life is slipping by, maybe i should stop playing Pro Evolution Soccer and make more efficient use of my time. Anyways, i digress...
I switched from FIFA to Pro Evo a few years ago and I love it. Right now Im playing doubles with a friend of mine, much better than single games. Of course I always pick Barca!
Fifa is pretty good this year. Its better than the new PES imo.

Im playing Pro Evo 08 on the PS2, I would check out FIFA but it would take me a while to get the hang of the controls.

I haven't played the latest version of either, but Pro Evo has been miles better than any FIFA I've ever played, so that's surprising and disappointing. What's the problem with the new Pro Evo?
Barca Boy - in the new Pro Evo i find Barca to be amazing attacking (obviously) but they leak far too many goals. It's a pretty big shame really as it spoils them for two player in my opinion.
It's all games where you have to score four or five to win! Man Utd are, as ever, my team of choice.
You are right Simon- just like in real life they are great going forward but dodgy at the back. Our two player games are always fairly highscoring games, I dont think we ever had a 0-0 draw. I will be playing lots of this before the fight tonight.
You mean the Hatton v Mayweather fight or the Amir Kahn fight?
I'd love to see both, but sadly only seeing the Kahn fight. About £15 to watch Hatton v Mayweather on pay per view? No thanks. Shame though, it'll be great.
Amir Kahn was ferocious tonight. He's genuinely fantastic, not just another over hyped talent talked up by media such as the BBC (see Audley Harrison).
As for Pro Evo... i agree with you. I often go Barca even though i know i'll leak goals because it makes for a fun game. If i want to make for a tight game i go for AC Milan.
Can't beat Man Utd for striking that perfect balance though.
I bloody love it - but I don't own a games console (partly because I'd spend way too much time on things like Pro Evo).
I did, however, have a PE session at the weekend at a mate's house. I think it was the '05 edition. Our team, The Freelancers F.C., have got to that stage where we've bought loads of random new young players with the same names as retired greats. A 19yr old Zola, a teenage Les Ferdinand....etc etc
Do you remember ISS Soccer on the N64? That was a frickin classic. The player creator was one of the most addictively pointless things in existence...
