Ocarina of Time rated Best Game Ever

I have to agree. I remember I was eleven or twelve when it came out and I was going through puberty and crying about everything, so I might have been crying about something else on the inside but I remember sniveling and whining and tears on the run and thinking, Damnit, why can't I have this game!? And then I got it and I was so happy, but I never did finish it anyway. I preferred to just roam around Hyrule on my horse and play my ocarina and venture, you know. My favorite place to go was that little underground stone basement thing in the desert. There was nothing down there but some pots to smash and a torch to light, if I remember correctly, but it was an awesome place nonetheless. You ever miss a place that exists in a video game? If you have, there has to be something in Zelda you miss.
The only thing I didn't like was that annoying fucking fairy that follows you around going HEY, HEY, HEY!
Favorite weapon: Slingshot
Favorite castle: Fire castle
Favorite Ocarina song: Song of Storms
But seriously, was anyone arguing against this?
And if so, do they WANT to be shanked in the gut? Because seriously, Best Game Ever is right. I'd give up fine dining and re-creational role-play pornography if Hey-soose came down and told me to, in return for not destroying this game.
Or something. Favorite weapon? Fire arrows. Favorite song? Song of Time/Serenade of Water. Favorite dungeon? Zelda's cun - I mean, Desert Collossus.
And all that Jazz. *Sigh* I'm gonna go make out with my life-sized poster of Malon now.
Very good game. I'd say it's right up there with God of War. Man, I would love to hear those little diddys again!!! I had a fave too, just can't remember it.
My favorite, and first videogame. I remember getting it when I was 12, along with the N64. Don't remember going outside for a few months, though. Probably not healthy.
I've never played any of the Zelda games. I remember it on the old NES and thinking how dumb it was to have some long ass game like that that you'd have to start over every time you turned it off. By the time they came out with memory cards I was on passed it.
Anyways, you fans should send him a dollar or two or something,he could use your help nowadays.
Oh, he's just like that in between games...

You could save your game on the original Zelda for NES.
You could save your game on the original Zelda for NES.
This is true.
I am disregarding this survery, mainly because it was probably done in poll form and is thus susceptible to the corrupting power of idiocy. If we're talking about the best games ever, we should include such games as Chess, Risk, Trivial Pursuit, and beyond board-games, Texas Hold'em, hell, even stuff like LaserQuest, if you have that in the US, and Paintballing. If we're solely talking about console games, then originality in both controls and gameplay, story and immersivity should be involved. We should include how far the game progressed other games of it's genre. For instance, think how much influence Command and Conquer: Red Alert had on all RTS-Battle games. What about the massive leap in RPG that came with FFVII, or the pure out-and-out fear and fun of games like Silent Hill and the original Resident Evil. Instead, people have filled this out with trendy answers and let me tell you all something, Final Fantasy XII is a great game, and definately deserves to be eigth on this list for furthering still just how immersive, fun, and strategic an RPG can be. But ahead of it deserves to be Final Fantasy VII, and that's not just because of popular opinion. Realistically, it's impossible to write a list of Top-Ten Gams ever. But if it's a list of 30 Games That Shaped Console-Playing Today, then maybe, disregarding numbers, some of these games do in fact belong on a list.
1. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina
2. Resident Evil 4
3. Super Mario 64
4. Half Life 2
5. Super Mario World
6. Zelda: A Link to the Past
7. Halo: Combat Evolved
8. Final Fantasy XII
9. Tetris
10. Super Metroid
I'm hurt that you left God of War off. I'm suprised you left Grand Theft Auto off. And I think you meant FFVII. I'm a huge FFII and FFIII and personally think that that's where it started.
It's complete BS that the list would include Half Life 2 and Halo but not Goldeneye. Are these console games only? GoldenEye was the first worthwhile multiplayer FPS on a console. Even the single player missions were good. I still have my N64, Goldeneye, and four controllers just in case people get nostalgic sometime. I wonder what it looks like on a widescreen TV...
I'm guessing games based on sports were all-out disqualified. I never liked the Madden games or even Tecmo bowl, but I'm sure one of those football games belongs on there. Hockey too. EA hockey games have always rocked.
Ocarina of Time deserves its place though. I don't like that kind of game much, but I played it through to the end. I didn't even need to cheat or look anything up. It was so well balanced that you could pretty much figure everything out given enough time. That, and the combat system was absolutely divine.
I still have my 64, and I play it proudly. It's simply the best console ever.
And I think the list is based purely on entertainment value. Sure, if you wanna get intricate, there are a LOT of things you have to consider. But simple, down to the core entertainment? This list is pretty dead on.

N64 was the best ever for action/adventure. SNES still holds a special place in my heart for all of my real RPG needs though. I miss the days where video games actually had story.
I love Ocarina of Time. I play it on my Gamecube every once in a while. It's definitely a classic.
Mario Cart, Golden Eye, Counter Strike: Source, Half Life, GTAIII... I could go on for hours about games better than Ocarina. There are so many other revolutionary games.
I'm not saying Ocarina wasn't great. It just wasn't tops.
Devouring mountains and shitting boulders since 1978.
