Modern Warfare 2
So anyone pre-ordering?
Well just drop yo shit and expectations on the follow up to 2007 best game.
imma see you online and eat you upside and down.

I work at a Gamestop and they actually sent us a countdown stand to put up in our store. Imagine the shit that is coming to work everyday and have to see the countdown to this game's release. It's gonna be awesome and I can't wait but I don't want a damn countdown!
Or will it all end in a big bankiss orgy?
This is going to be epic.
I've seen the countdown stands also. My mouth waters everytime I pass them.
The storyline in Modern Warfare was brilliant, I'm glad it follows on but with a few years inbetween.
There is no proper way to cope, no everlasting grace.
Just a flame on a river floating away.
I have one of the fancy new MW2 xboxs preordered with release day delivery from Amazon.
I hate you.
"It is true, that which I have revealed to you; there is no God, no universe, no human race, no earthly life, no heaven, no hell. It is all a dream - a grotesque and foolish dream. Nothing exists but you. And you are but a thought - a vagrant thought, a useless thought, a homeless thought, wandering forlorn among the empty eternities."
Yeah, I figured it was finally time to say goodbye to me 20GB hard drive.
I hate you.
Ditto. We should burn him.
Just been viewing the trailer on youtube again.
Can't wait.

I'm gonna preorder it later today. Is it too late to do that?

It came out last week here. Haven't had the cash to pick it up yet though. Fancy that.
Holy shitballs!
Is that the International Space Station?
This game makes me regret that I never liked First person shooters. It makes me regret not having a PS3. It makes me regret not playing Modern Warfare 1.
It looks so fucking awesome.
It's never too late to solve any of those issues.
I would have to give up some facet of my free time, and at the moment, I refuse to do that. currently, I fill my free time with things I find productive and enjoyable, whereas that is only enjoyable, so I'd feel like it was a waste.
Even though its not
Sounds like you're answering your own questions, Chris. You just need to be tipped over the edge, don't you?
DO IT! JUMP! Buy one of the new slim ps3' s and modern warfare 2! You won't regret it.
NO! Buy a 360! It's way better. And then we can own Live together!

are you all console fags? Imma just go ahead and tell you it's not skill when you got a controller

BAM!

I'm gonna get this later. I just got the PS3 this morning, so it'll take some time to get good at fps. And I'll get MWF 1
If best buy has any copies later I will pick one up on my way home.

GOT IT!
I just played with a guy who was already level 60. This was actually like 6 hours ago, at a time when the game had been out for all of 13 hours. Yes, he was American.

Holy shit. I got my copy from amazon, jumped online immediately.
Players already PRESTIGE 50, and a SLEW of them had been playing for two days, twelve hours. I was hoping to get in on the ground floor.
Also, anyone played the single player campaign yet?
I'm four missions in. I can't believe the airport level got published. "This is going to take away parts of you." It was beautiful and horrifying, and I'm glad it's there. I wonder if the press or concerned parents will notice and take issue.
I know there's a toggle at the start to skip it, but still. Seems like something Walmart would demand a 'clean' version of to sell.
Great game thus far. See you guys online... i really need to add all your gamertags to my friend list.
I've only started playing the campaign. I sort of laughed it off when they asked at the beginning if I want to skip parts, but I seriously had a wtf going on in my head during the airport level.

This game is awesome! Working at a game store I've had to look at that freaking countdown clock for over a month now.
Last night we had a huge midnight launch that of course I had to work and couldn't even get online until 3 in the morning.
I'm just now on the level after to airport (which is crazy) and I have to say this is living up to all of the hype.
Or will it all end in a big bankiss orgy?
I'm pretty far into the campaign and it is amazazazaing. During some parts, I'm just staring at the screen with my mouth hanging open. There are parts that have very powerful imagery. And, yeah, the airport scene was pretty intense. Is it wrong that I liked it?

i just replayed the airport a second time.
my first go i thought i'd stay behind my crew, fire into the air over people's heads, and managed to survive the level at veteran diff. without killing anyone. thought i might be able to keep his trust that way...
second go i shot everything in sight to see if it might have a different ending.
unrelated...
i LOVE the heartbeat sensor on my sniper rifle in multiplayer. im not leveled up far yet, but i heard a guy chattering about how he'd mounted one to the side of his rp90. if that's actually possible i know what my main goal is gonna be
I've only played multiplayer so far, and loved it. Can't wait to get into the campaign.
I'm level 10 right now. If you're in the 360 gamer group, feel free to look me up. I mostly play hardcore modes.
I usually play team deathmatch with my roommates on the 360, but I'm always up for multiplayer. My gamertag is Zerstorungsorge (its German for "orgy of destruction")for anybody who wants to add me and play sometime.
Or will it all end in a big bankiss orgy?
anyone else notice that having a riot shield, even if you're using another weapon and just have it strapped to your back, seems to lend a lot of protection from behind? i picked one up off a corpse and switched to my primary smg, started getting damage indicator from behind but it wasn't nearly the amount it would normally have hit for.
if only there were a way to carry a sniper rifle, riot shield on the back, and a pistol/light machine gun for close quarters. nigh unstoppable, i'd be.
I won't be getting it. The campaign is even shorter than COD4. If i wanted to play the MP, i can just fire up COD4 for that. The only thing i am interested in is Co-op but doesn't seem enough of a reason to shell $60.
So...We are still going to die. Right?
I'm sort of annoyed that I didn't pick this up instead of either Fallout or Ratchet and Clank, but the it'll probably be next on my list.

Yeah, the riot shield provides protection even when on your back, that is one of the bonuses. Also, the bullets that hit it can ricochet and kill people.
I saw a video of a guy throwing a knife, and it bounced off the wall and hit his target in the neck. That was awesome.
What is cool about the knife is that you can pick it back up. So unlike grenades, you can keep using it.
That is awesome. This game is sounding better by the second.
heres the video
Finished single player and I'm not 100% sold on it. Never really knew what was going on with the story besides someone started a war and it was my job to kill him. Beyond that I died quite a bit. There's just so much going on in the levels, and enemies coming from all sides, that I had a hard time keeping a solid front-line with my AI teammates. Some pretty epic levels though- the capital, airport, suburbia, snow-covered base and The End were all excellent. And it was always amazing to call in an AC130.
With that said, Multi-player is 100% where it's at. As with CoD4, too much of my spare time will be devoured by this game.
I found the singleplayer to be made for the fans, because it rewards the players who experianced MW1 in a totally different way.
Just the fact that they created a character called "Ghost" played by the same voice actor as the "Gaz" character, whom died in the first game.
That the leader for the Americans is called Foley, which also was the name of the leader of the AMerican forces in CoD 2.
I agree that the story was coming at you at a way too high speed, at times I was completly unaware of who was friend and who was foe... I just shot what came into sight during the mission, not sure why.
Multiplayer is the franchise's stronghold, hands down, no doubt. For PC we're hoping for some sorta patch to make it possible for us to play matches against other teams. Since they removed dedicated servers, but time will only tell.
Game is still the most amazing realease this year, 10 out of 10.

im five missions into campaign mode thus far, and im not sure it's shaping up to be a better campaign than MW1's. i'll have to see how it plays out, but it feels a lot more over the top blockbuster action movie-esque than the realistic, stories torn from everyday news.
i REALLY enjoyed that they brought back Soap, the character you played in the first, and that now he's your captain. somethin' about the echo'd calling of idiots muppets...
Soap is the man.
That is because they intentionally have changed the focus of the game to make it more action-movie like. But really, when you think about the first one, it's about as realistic and believable as True Lies.
Finished it on Veteran and i can't see the whole "Action Packed" thing. Since they removed the endless enemy respawns i just took my time finished the missions without much trouble. Definitely the easiest Veteran of them all.
I still think the presentation and missions were better in COD4. MW2 just felt like they were trying too much to beat the first one, and it just didn't felt genuine.
I wasn't going to buy it, but i am glad i did.
Will play it for a while at least until the Borderlands DLC hits.
Also is going to suck for those not on the 360 when the exclusive map packs hit.
So...We are still going to die. Right?
MW3
On my second play through of the campaign, I caught a Red Dawn reference. The mission in the suburbs, when the Russians invade is title "Wolverines!"
Some of you guys probably caught this, but I thought it should be shared.
"A celibate clergy is an especially good idea, because it tends to suppress any hereditary propensity toward fanaticism." -Carl Sagan
"Am I cruel? Probably. Is she an idiot? Yes." -jane s.
Yes, and one of the achievements you get is even called "Red Dawn".
campaign mode gave me my first jaw-drop moment thus far yesterday.
WOW.
I made it all the way to the 16th level before I got to a point that I can't pass on Veteran difficulty
It's total bullshit, in fact, I can't get past it on regular difficulty. I feel like there should be a trick to it, but there doesn't seem to be.
It's total bullshit, in fact, I can't get past it on regular difficulty. I feel like there should be a trick to it, but there doesn't seem to be.
What part are you getting stuck at?
I'm lying.
When you have to make it to the evac helicopter on the Estate level. Basically, on Veteran, I take several bullets as soon as I spawn. Since there is no cover at all, the screen gets covered with jelly and you can't see a fucking thing. As I try to make it down the hill, I am nailed with a mortar nearly every single time.
I eventually lowered it to Regular difficulty, and am still not having any luck. I'm not taking nearly as much bullet damage, but every time I get about half way down the hill, a mortar nails me.
I literally tried like 50+ times yesterday. I'm thinking part of the problem is the dudes who are supposed to be helping me, seem to have not kept up with me, so I have to shuffle around for 30 seconds or so until they show up. However, I think that it is scripted to keep pushing you forward with mortars, so if I try to hang back and wait for them, I get hammered with mortars.
I wish there was a way I could go back 2 checkpoints. Hell I'd even be happy restarting the level.
You can't restart the level?

Not that I'm aware of. Maybe I'm wrong.
If you go to mission select you should be able to.
"A celibate clergy is an especially good idea, because it tends to suppress any hereditary propensity toward fanaticism." -Carl Sagan
"Am I cruel? Probably. Is she an idiot? Yes." -jane s.
Will that continue onto the next mission if I do that? I always assumed that going in through mission select will only run you through that mission.

Yep this game will be great. I'm just tired of wasting my money on videogames. Oh well another 60 bucks out of my pocket won't make me broke.
