Laptop help
Hey there. What laptop, strictly for gaming, should I get? I've lost most knowledge what's the shit, really. I want it to be awesome for two years, and good for the following 4. It should last for 6 years (spec-wise) sort of, all in all...
It should be like 10,000 SEK (approx. $1500). I don't need any stuff besides the computer.

Why are you getting a laptop rather than a desk top?
!
you can get an amazing desktop for 1500 or a decent laptop for 1500. desktops are a lot smaller these days if it's portability you want.
A gaming laptop that can last 6 years. Not gonna happen, bro.
Get a decent desktop and a cheap laptop. You end up breaking even and have a lot more.
I have a cheap laptop, I don't have the space for a desktop, Also, I'd need a new display.. I have an old crt-screen..
Make it like, $1900. Then is it pssible, or is it still impossible?

okay, I see your point. I have no grasp of time unless hit in the face by it.. Don't mind the six year suggestion. Just a kickass laptop, or a really small desktop, with a 19" wide-screen.

If you're serious about using it for gaming, figure out a way to make a desktop work and get an LCD.
you can get something like an hp laptop with the new core i7 processor for about $1K. get at least 1GB discrete graphics memory and if you can add in a blu-ray drive then you should be good for about 3 years.
also, you can't upgrade the video card on most laptops without paying almost as much as a new computer anyway so you'll be replacing the laptop in a few years if you want to keep gaming. i still say go desktop. they're cheap and smaller than an xbox these days.

Are any of these any good? For rates www.xe.com. The currency is SEK. 1 USD is about 6 SEK...

I want the views being so well rendered you'd want to have sex with it. Make it last for three years. is it possible in that price range then? Or is desktop the option I should get to work?

I say desktop. With a flat screen it won't take up much space, and for a grand and a half you should be able to get a kick ass system.
!
Not going to happen man.
I'm with everyone else, buy a desktop, but even if you do a buy a desktop it will be out of date in about a month. Hardware development runs in overdrive for PC parts, which means you'll always be behind no matter how good the stuff you buy right now is.
I say get a PS3 'cause it has a blu-ray player, 250gb hard drive and it's guaranteed for the next 6 years to play new games. Cause with $1900 you could get a ps3 and a bad ass tv. Oh and you said you had no space so just wall mount the TV.

Plus, in three years, you can do a cheap processor/video card switch and RAM upgrade and be golden for a couple more years...
Okay... I'm getting convinced. http://www.komplett.se/k/cl.aspx?bn=10627 Here's some bundle ones (desktops, yay!) you can modify them (by clicking "konfigurera själv") fiddle all you want, but the grand sum shouldn't exceed 13,000 kr. (No keyboard or mouse or anything like that required. Only a screen)

The difference is, you can toss a $150 video card in your computer once a year and be at the cutting edge of what games actually require. And hardware dev isn't really in overdrive on PCs anymore. You can easily dump 32GB of ram into most motherboards, the i5's and i7's run fast as hell.
And the PS4 will be out in 3 more years, not 6, assuming they follow the precedent of the industry.
Come on, this is the best opportunity evar to learn some Swedish. I need the help.

Most of the stuff is in English though [Stuff you want in your pc].
EDIT_
I'd love to help out, but I'm afraid I don't know much about this stuff.
I tried looking at it and couldn't figure out why they don't have any core i7's.
I think they have in the next price range.
http://www.komplett.se/k/cl.aspx?bn=11033 here they are. But they are kinda expensive. Like $2400..

Wow, either these guys charge a lot for computers or computers are expensive in Sweden. Looks like they have i7's starting at 17.500 http://www.komplett.se/k/ci.aspx?sku=10386
The 4890 in there is a good graphics card too, and it supports crossfire, so when they get cheaper you can toss an additional card in there at a later date.
Yeah, it's kinda expensive, but if you build it yourself on the site, pick all pieces out yourself, I think it may get a little cheaper. How 'bout the first one on that price-range page? If you toss a i7 in? You can change components if you press "Konfiurera själv" (Configure yourself)

Even if you do that, it's still more expensive. Plus you want to make additional changes. The i7's run best on triple-channel ram, so you want 3 sticks in there, not 2. So ideally, 6GB...
I dunno, this shit is expensive, if the exchange rate calc I used was correct, these are like $2,500 USD, which is insane. Of course that might just be because it is Sweden.
I built a killer i7 machine like 3 months ago for $1,200... USA! USA!

the word for treasure and taxes are the same in Swedish. We all want to die.
