So I have an image that I want to use to make a t-shirt for my secret santa. How do I do this. Does anyone know? I think some of you make your own shirts.

This is easy:

Buy in Wally world, or wherever, Iron-on paper. They come in dark or white. If it's going onto a white shirt, obviously it does not need to press white ink onto the shirt, but it does have a thin layer of whiteness so grey-ish shirts come out right.

For dark shirts, it prints white onto the shirt, so where you don't want white, you have to cut out of the design.

I made a "Flags Down For James Brown" t-shirt onto white, and a Dawn of the Dead logo guy sweatshirt onto black.

With the paper you buy, there is info on software to dload so the image is formatted correctly for your printer. You set it up with the software, print, and peel this thing off, if I remember correctly. Then you iron it onto the shirt for like 3 mins, keeping heavy pressure on it. Then you're done.

It recommends washing the shirt inside out to keep it from fading, and washing once before use. My shirts are still holding up, and I wear the Dawn sweatshirt all the time, or I did last winter. I wish I had it now, Florida be freezing!

Screen printing you can find info fo online, and a friend once showed me and it was easy, but I never did it.

EDIT:

This is what I used:

You can also find print shops that do it for you, some are reasonably priced or you can even bring your own shirt. Just make sure the image you have is print sized, meaning that it has to be 300dpi. Usually images online are 72dpi. But you can search Google images and select 'large images'. Some of them will be rather large and will come out well if you print them. If you go the print shop route, be sure to check with them if the image you have is printable.
