Absolutely STOKED!!!
Dude you left out Slipknot.
# In Flames - "Take This Life"
That oughta be a fun one.
Has the game improved? I never played GH II. Does it actually teach technique (at least right hand?), or is it just mindless button mashing? I almost gave a neckpunch to this guy who was all bragging about how great he was at the game, how he could totally shred a guitar, etc. I asked him about drop-tuning on a song, and he looked at me like I was from Mars. He only knows his little fake plastic guitar...
They need to make a Drum Hero. And it should just hook up to my actual drumset.
BAND PRACTICE TOMORROW WOOO!!!
They are making a game called Rock Band.

It looks awesome! It is said that if you can play the drum parts on the hardest settings, you are actually playing the drums, note for note (?stomp for smack?) for that song!
Reason enough for me to buy a PS3.
No one has the right to teach us stuff we don't want to learn. That's what our Bill of Constitution's all about.
haha!
My Name is Jonas!
Knights of Cydonia!
Looking forward to it.
I'm surprised some of those songs didn't make the cut for either of the first two games.

Lot of songs out there dude. I was suprised with some of the selections on the first one. Especially 'Stellar'. That song has the weirdest tempo.
I love that song. Incubus is so good...
Except for "Drive."
Can't stand that song. MTV ruined it for me. MTV RUINS LIVES!!!
Their new album is pretty damn awesome. Brandon Boyd is one of the three guys in the world who I have a man-crush on.
An ex girlfriend got me into Incubus. I was never really a fan, but she made me take her to their concerts and in exchange she cheated on me.

Johnny Depp and Link from the Legend of Zelda game series (but that's mostly a joke... mostly.) Runner ups would include Jude law and Cillian Murphy, but I can live without them.
That sucks, Frank. Name and SS #, and you'll never hear a whisper of her name again. *Polishes sniper rifle barrel*
No need. I haven't heard from her in a few years. Thats how I like it. I stopped listening to Incubus because of her though.

Used to be a big fan until they went all Sugar Ray on me for Morning View, then their awesome bass player left and I lost all interest.
The thing I'm the most confused about is how you're supposed to play the guitar solo for Bulls on Parade on the Guitar Hero guitar. My band covers that song and solo has absolutely nothing to do with strumming or fretting; the way you play it is really a lot like scratching a record, you rub your hand up and down the strings while turning on and off the pickups with the pickup switch.

Yeah - could someone explain a little more about the guitars? I'm intrigued. Are there "strings" or is it just pressing those coloured buttons? Can you actually learn to be any better at the guitar, or is it just for "rocking out"?
If you're horrible at rhythm, I could see it helping with your right hand technique...provided you hold the "pick" the right way. As for your left hand it might help strengthen your pinky and ring finger.
Think for yourself. Question Authority.
Is Guitar Hero just for the Playstation, or can you get it for you PC as well? I would love to play it but I don't have a PS. Well I have a PS One, but you know.

okie dokies.
enter the nerd
you have 5 buttons LH.
easy / med / hard varies the use of buttons
you have a sort-of-would-be-set-of-strings RH.
this is actually a button you just press when you'd really strum
This game could in no way teach anyone how to shred.
But it is addictively fun

Play the 360 demo right now by burning http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5OX44D2U this onto a CD or DVD.
It will open up the GH3 demo in the demo section of the dashboard.
The songs in the demo are
Hit Me With Your Best Shot - Pat Benatar

Nice! Thanks!

I just bought it, and am about to start playing

oh my god, that was the greatest ending for the game

Sadly, I will have to wait until mid Nov for my birthday for the game....

this game RULESSOBAD!

The Kid: "uh, I got minus one like two times."
I wonder, did that kid meet the Devil at a Mississippi crossroads to be able to do that?
I can't believe how much fun this game is. There's a bar in town that has a Wednesday night Guitar Hero competition. Side bets are allowed, and people that suck (like me) lose cash. Pool is sooo over.
Ok, Official and all that: I just joined RedOctane India!
I had to move cities and have moved to Chennai (which is like South India)
(Oh and also played my first Guitar Hero 1 & 2 sessions! The game's more freak than I thought! It's the closest game there can be to actual air guitaring!)

Dragonforce on there? Wow.
