Book money! How big was the book?
oh, cool! I wish I hadn't sold my PS2 for book money. What a nerd I am.
Hey Levi, you're no nerd. If I thought I could get money enough for books by selling my PS2 I'd be in there. As it stands I gave it to my boyfriend and said do what you want with it.
From the looks of that picture, it seems like it's GRAND THEFT AUTO: JIHAD.
What's the accent of the guy?
And they added the statue of Liberty to Liberty City...

I'm dissapointed it's not a London based one.
You're BRAAAAAAAAHN BREAD!!
I'm cream crackered, me.
When I was on study leave for my GCSEs I just used to play GTA:London all day and phone my friends and they'd be like, "Um...we're having a study-date for Geography" and I'd be like "Ha ha ha, mission failed!!"
I never got anything done during those study dates. They hinder rather than help. All playing Smackdown and such. Sure, I suplexed a guy through a giant steel cage, but what's mannifest destiny???

There's a big arguing about it on one French video games website. They say it's slavic, from balkans, croat or arabic. And they are really to kill each other.
The fact is that English is not their mother tongue, and I don't think they really can identify an accent in another language. That's why I'm asking here, because I'm really not able to do it.

holy shit, that's a little eerie.
i couldn't tell what the accent was. not really arabic, and i've heard a lot of arabic accents in the last seven months.
maybe closer to russian. i can't believe how realistic the city looks in that demo, but i wonder how much of that is actually video from the game, it looked more like an introduction video, not gameplay. of course, with how real some of the games coming out these days look...
gta:sa was a major disappointment to me, i hope this one is better.
and i hope on the console version they get rid of all the yellow, or orange, or whatever. on a non-hd tv, sa had my color-retarded (read: colorblind) ass all mixed up. everything looked blurry. after driving full speed into an "alley" between two buildings which turned out to be an actual middle part of a wall between the left and right parts of the wall i gave up. on the pc i was able to tweak the colors some, and they looked better, but then i gave up anyway because it was boring.
vice city is still the best.

This trailer wasn't all that good. And why did they set it in new york? Christ im sick of new york. Spider man 2. Parallel lines. True crime. London would have ruled. The getaway is the only thing stopping them.

i guess i'm behind the times on graphic capabilities. i've never even played a 360 before and my new laptop, while nice, is NOT a gaming machine. i saw some clips of that Oblivion RPG from xbox 360 and it was amazingly impressive stuff. maybe i should consider trying out another console for a while....
well what games showes now it's just 40% of what can be done on the consoles,
When I saw MotorStorm it looked nice but I think I stoped getting so excited on graphic side because it don't move me as in the past. And GTA never had amazing graphic bacause it was too big game to look like God of War or stuff like that. Same is now.

Now I don't care either way but I bet there will be some people angered over the fact they play as a character from the middle east. I for one can not wait for this game to launch. The GTA, MGS, and Half-life serious are pretty much the only games I follow and this one is going to be incredible.

I guess I may be the only one still interested? oh well, ill still put up new info anyway...
* According to the magazine, GTA IV is currently 66% complete.
* When Niko pulls out a pistol, a crosshair with a simple black cross within a circle shows up on the screen. This could be an indication of manual aiming being available in the game.
* Rockstar's humorous take on the number 69 makes an appearance yet again in GTA IV, the editors of the magazine saw a sign for a "69th Street Diner". Another building called "Twitchins", the GTA version of Brooklyn's Domino's Sugar Factory, is in the game.
* Niko will be able to climb and descend exterior fire escapes and some meetings will take place high in the office buildings of skyscrapers. It's said that from on top of them you'll be able to throw people off.
* Hand to hand combat is also being reworked on for GTA IV, and will feel "much more natural" than before.
* One of the radio stations includes an "Eastern European-sounding" dancing station.
* Players will be able to change their camera views whilst in a car according to their needs. This however is said to still being experimented on, and that Rockstar want to give better control and "immediacy" to players.
* For confirmation, boats will be making a return and the handling is "really nice".
* When selecting your mobile phone, a zoomed-in version of the mobile screen pops up in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, where you can use its address book to pitch for "jobs" with gang contacts among other things.
* One of the things that makes it easier for Rockstar setting GTA in a fictional New York is that they sometimes get a call from the developers at Rockstar North in Scotland, wanting to know more about a specific building or traffic flow in a certain area, for instance, and using their in-house researchers in NYC they can easily assist the guys back at R* North.
* Dan Houser is quoted saying that the Liberty City in GTA IV is bigger than any single city they've done before, giving a more clear indication of the physical size of the game. He continues saying that the "detail" of the game is the big thing.
* He also confirms Central Park to be in the game, though it's fictional name is still unknown to us.
* Dan says that they're "certainly evolving the way the radio works". He says the same for police behaviour and their reaction to crimes. Nothing further is said about this...
* "Fun ridiculous" weapons is said to be in the game, because R* is not going too "naturalistic".
# During the demo, Niko was seen approaching a bus stop. When he reached it, an icon appeared on-screen that enabled him to control the bus schedule. Is it possible to use the bus service similar to how you can with trains?
# When Niko pulls out a weapon, the camera positions itself above his shoulder, and a view-finder appears at the centre of the screen. It's possible to lock a target and move laterally to avoid incoming shots.
# Stealing a car can no longer be done simply by opening the door and driving off. Now it involves Niko approaching the car sneakily, breaking the glass with his elbow, using the injection cables to start the car, and only then can he use it.
# Niko can freely climb wherever possible (telephone poles, fire escapes etc.)
# Philip Glass, the author of the Grand Theft Auto 4 trailer music, will be involved in the production of GTA IV's soundtrack.
# The graphical improvements are clearly evident when walking over a grating on the sidewalk. You can see what is underneath it, and the light trickles realistically around the iron bars.
* During the demo, when Niko passed an ATM machine a message appeared on the screen indicating a button to press in order to access his funds. Nothing more official is discussed about this, though it would appear that you'll likely be able to deposit and withdraw money from the various ATM machines across the game.
* As part of GTA IV's new physics, you'll be able to hear/feel the base of vehicles passing by with their radio turned on.
* Rockstar says that the usual GTA driving controls have been tremendously tweaked and enhanced.
* When selecting a contact on your mobile phone, a list of several commands are made available to the player, such as "meet me here" etc.
* Playing the single player game through co-operative mode is not possible, however there will be a co-op mode in addition to all the other unknown multiplayer modes.
* According to Dan Houser, VP of Creative for Rockstar Games, they haven't yet figured out if GTA IV is going to spark off another set of GTA games connected to it, and they're currently just focusing on this single game. He does say he "would have a certain confidence" setting GTA outside the United States, such as England in the future.
* When asked about a San Andreas Stories for the PSP, he replies saying that they don't have any plans for that at the moment, suggesting that they likely haven't started at all on another GTA PSP title.
I'd like you to tell me that you are a false prophet and that God is a superstition.
* According to Rockstar, less realistic elements will be omitted from the game. This would include arrows and markers that would assist the player. There is speculation however that the mobile phone would essentially help the player out with the inclusion of a GPS-like system.
* An idea floating around the development process is adding street names that appear on-screen when you enter the designated street. It has yet to be decided on.
* People's reactions will vary depending on Niko's actions. For example, pulling out a gun would leave pedestrians in a panic.
* Later on in the game, Niko will use an apartment with a wardrobe. It's suggested that changing clothes won't be an option at the start.
* Dan Houser said there would NOT be any significant differences between the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game. (Fanboys can go hang themselves now.)
* On the subject of downloads, Houser claimed that they weren't exactly sure what the content would be. He added that maybe certain items will be free, but others offered at a price. He later added, "By all means we'll only do things [through downloads] that really serve the game. Simply pulling 5 dollars out of someone's pocket - that's too cheesy for me."

- We find out that McReary's first name is Francis, and that he knows about a felony Niko committed. McReary has a moustache confirming that he is this guy.
- The weapons on offer by Little Jacob included a 9mm, a shotgun, an SMG, and a micro SMG. As you buy weapons, new weapons will be unlocked.
- Before Niko submitted his cv/résumé to the Goldberg, Ligner & Shyster website, OXM got a quick glimpse of his work history and qualifications. It notes that Niko was on the "Balkan Peace Force". He is also proficient in swimming, shooting and boxing.
- Niko steals a black Comet before heading to the Humboldt River Viewpoint, to kill the man who stole Francis McReary's memory stick.
- GTA IV will include a pool mini-game, and many other mini-games. "You'll play at least some of these while hanging out with NPCs like Little Jacob." You can see a pool table in this screenshot.
- Neither the 9/11 terrorist attacks nor Ground Zero will be referenced in any way in the game. Ground Zero will take up too much space and 9/11 is too controversial.
- The receptionist from Goldberg, Ligner & Shyster, who calls Niko to inform him about his interview, is called Karen.
- At TW@ cafe, using a "pretty convincing" looking web browser, Niko visits the Goldberg, Ligner & Shyster website and uploads his CV at there.
- You'll be able to reach the Statue of Happiness. You can go over there by swimming or by a boat.
- If you ride in a cab as a way to get to wherever you're going, it switches to first person view.
-The A.I. of the pedestrians are much, much more life like. for example, if you stare at someone for to long, they'll ask you what you're looking at, in a not so very nice way.
I'd like you to tell me that you are a false prophet and that God is a superstition.
I just got saint row for the 360, it looks like GTA, pretty fun
Just to let you know, it's not only NYC. They've created a huge, living environment just like the last game--but better. Much better.
Devouring mountains and shitting boulders since 1978.
That kind of looks like shit.
It's not fully polished yet. Just wait.

- The taxi driver will play a significant roll into the gameplay. If Niko wants to go to point B, from point A, on the map, he can take the ride with just a push of a button. This time around though, the taxi-driver will fulfill some special wishes. If Niko is hungry, the Yellow Cab will drive him to the next Food restaurant. If Niko is hurt, then the taxi-driver will drive to the hospital. So, each place is reachable by taxi in a few seconds. However, you can't catch a cab while police are after you.
- Police will appear on the map as 'dots', while they are on search for you.
- Niko Bellic uses his mobile phone and the Internet, on regular basis. Niko mobile phone is a phone, messenger, Organizer, photo camera and GPS - all in one. The map will have GPS, which shows you the best way (will be colored in Yellow) towards your target. If you’re in a mission, the map not only shows a symbol, but even a line with the best route.
- On the street of LC, the reporters saw - Ferrari, Volkswagen Jetta, BMWs, Mustangs, delivery vans, SUV's, garbage truck.
- They have improved the target system with different hitzones on the body.
- The girl, on the artwork with the Loly Pop, is named Lola and she is available for special hours. In other words, she's a hooker.
- There will be no Ammu Nation shops anymore.
- You can walk, jog or sprint. Latter will make you exhausted after a while.
- In the mission where you have to kill the Lawyer Mr. Goldberg there is a dialogue between him and Niko (after Niko pulled out his gun). Goldberg says: “I don’t fear guns. You know, guns don’t kill people - Videogames kill people.”
- The following shootout with the police is one of the best ever in a GTA-game according to the magazine. You have to cover and shoot while things fly through the room from the bullets. One policeman even fell down the escalator when they shoot him in the knee.
I'd like you to tell me that you are a false prophet and that God is a superstition.

The company's shares slid 8 percent in extended trade following the announcement.
The game, which had been scheduled for release in October, is now planned for release in the fiscal second quarter of 2008, Take-Two said.
In a statement, Take-Two Chairman Strauss Zelnick said "certain elements of development proved to be more time-intensive than expected."
The company said that for the fiscal year ending October 31, it expects revenue of $950 million to $1 billion. It also forecast a loss of $1.25 per share to $1.35 per share, excluding one-time items.
In June, Take-Two said it expected revenue of $1.2 billion to $1.25 billion for the year, with break-even results before one-time items.
