there's sort of a way around that without disabling the blocker...
I ran into that jam at school today, where they restrict everything, but
it's sort of odd;
If you received an email from someone without a gmail acount, and they reply, then at the bottom of their message, there will be an action link next to "reply" and "foward." It will read "invite ___________(person's email) to gmail." Click that and it should work. Window will open. Fill-in the info to the person you want the gmail invite sent to.
Basically, if you got invites, which your gmail will state at the left-hand side, then tell your buddy to email your gmail. Then reply..and there should be that action link that should bypass the pop-up blocker....
or you can always ask peeps who know what they're doing *ahem*
or you can use good old fashion mail because we all know that mail is P.I.M.P.

I have to manually go to [url]http://gmail.google.com/gmail?view=invite[/url] . none of the gmail invites work unless I go to the invite page through the address. This works fine though. I'd rather do this than have popups

i've noticed occasionally gmail links don't work, and you can't click on a damned thing, email messages included. i close out altogether and re-sign in, and it's usually fine. it's young, i'll forgive for now. otherwise, i love the lack of hotmail tackiness and general thread format. i'd recommend, so far. i've been using it for a while.

I've had troubles with getting to the actual email screen, sometimes you have to try a couple of times. But, aside from that, I like it.
