Favorite Blog? Tumblr, Wordpress, etc....
Just curious what blog-people prefer to use for their word spewing? I've seen pro and con arguments for both Tumblr and Wordpress mostly... but then other names randomly pop up as well.
Why do you use one over the other? What could you/would you change about either one? If you were starting a new blog now, where would it be... and why?
Any info would be appreciated. Thanks all.

I've used blogger, wordpress, tumblr, even livejournal.
It depends on what you are looking for in a blog. Personally, I think wordpress is the best all around. I used it for my writing (http://writewithblood.wordpress.com/). It's a little hard to learn at first but once you learn how it's easier to use than other blogging platforms. It doesn't offer as much ability to customize the way your blog looks. But I think you get more readers off the bat when you choose wordpress, it seems to give you more publicity. It also comes with it's own stat counter so if you want to know how many people are reading it's already built in.
Blogger is really easy to use. Offers a lot of options to customize the look. Though new blogs on blogger have a harder time getting readers.
Tumblr is great if you want to look at pictures that people have reblogged. As for a tumblr's devoted to writing...they are harder to come by.
And livejournal is great if you are looking for communities. People are more apt to build relationships and friendships on livejournal. You really get to know your readers and vice-versa. But watch out for the overwhelming number of kids whining about how bad their life sucks.
Bottomline: I would recommend either blogger or wordpress. Maybe sign up for both, explore what they have to offer & then pick the one that suit you bets.

Are you looking to host your own blog? If so, Wordpress is OK, if you can deal with the constant security holes. Just make sure you keep frequent backups and stay on top of patches.
Literally every person I know who hosts Wordpress has had it hacked/exploited at least once.
I use blogger, because it seemed to offer more in terms of being able to customise the template than wordpress. they don't have a stat counter, but there are plenty of free ones around
I use (self-hosted) WordPress for years. Both for my own sites and for my clients. It's nice and clean, well supported by extensions and info and easy to customize.
I used to use Drupal as well. it offers a lot of possibilities but it's too heavy for most of the sites. It makes sense only for large and complex communities.
I recommend wordpress. In my opinion, the blog created from wordpress appears more professional, compared to others. The control panel is very user friendly and it's really easy to customize.

I'll add to the self-hosted wordpress love. Literally thousands of free theme templates, an endless selection of plugins, and easy access to CSS and other behind-the-scenes stuff, if you want it.
That's wordpress.org, for the self-hosting software.
Wordpress.com is if you aren't hosting the site yourself. There are many more restrictions on templates and overall customization going that route.

Wordpress. It's professional and I've no experience with anything else.
