Borderlands

I will be picking it up on my lunch break and will be playing tonight. I've been following this since before they changed all the graphics and am excited.

I've played a little today and I'm enjoying it quite a bit. I've gotten into one or two xbox live games but the people weren't responsive. This game must be great with a good group of people. So many guns!!!

hows the "looting" aspect? i'm really into that, like with fallout and oblivion. are there lots of paths in the storyline?

I don't think the story really branches at all. It isn't designed as a moral choice RPG, as far as I've seen.

The looting is insane. By level 7 I've had 4 different SMG's and they were all totally different, not just repaints. I'm loving the "Lady Finger", a pistol with a sniper scope on it. I've also got a gun that has a chance to catch dudes on fire.

Unlike Fallout 3, this is a shooter with an RPG skill system laid on top of it. Which is more appealing to my play style.

Yes the looting in this game is crazy. I am though a little confused since I thought all the weapons you can pick up are randomly generated yet I have a lady finger as well and I bet many people have the clipper. Are there some guns that are dropped no matter what and are all the other guns created by the ai?

Yes, there are some guns that are manually built, to make sure that you dont get a string of guns that suck. Also, all the stuff you get as quest rewards or boss loot will likely be unique, for instance the clipper.

I played till nearly level 13 tonight in co-op with one other person and man that makes this game even so much more fun. We got some really cool loot and had some great fights. can't wait for more.

Yep it's a blast. The best game i have purchased recently. I am on regularly. I am on level 25 Berserker but i may play my level 6 siren more.

I'm thinking about rerolling as a hunter because I'm currently playing a siren and have found that I love sniper rifles in this game. And if you look at the hunter skill tree, he gets such awesome sniper bonuses, like the ability to completely bypass an enemies shield.

I was playing for a good 4 hours yesterday with 3 other people. It was a blast! I just hate having to drop weapons to make space in my inventory! I'll have to fix up more claptraps. I hope someone posts a youtube video soon showing the claptrap and repair kit locations.

I want this but I think I'll wait until around Christmas to get it.

Revolver that shoots lightning is the best thing I've ever had in a game...

Oh, I hear there is a shotgun that shoots out rockets.

The guns in this game are so fucking insane it is a riot to play, especially with other people.

The shotgun that shoots rockets wasn't that good for me. It was very slow till the rocket got there and it depends a lot on the sight.

I don't know if there's one that shoots one or more rockets at the same time, that would be cool.

Wait for the Boomstick. You get it after one of the bosses. It's what i have been using, but it burns on your ammo. You need to play with someone with a regenerating ammo trait.

Anyone thought the character "Chuck Durden" as a Chuck reference? He is a generic character, but he is the one that gives you some Arena challenges. I don't know it seems to me gladiator fights = Fight Club, and the name Chuck Durden was too much of a coincidence.

The game is so full of pop-culture references, it wouldn't surprise me at all.

Almost done with the second playthrough and got all the achievements. This game is so addictive. My trigger finger hurts.

Wow! How many orange weapons have you found so far?

Orange isn't even the best. There are pearlescent colored weapons that are the total shit.

Clayton and I played a few hours today, about to turn 22. Once you hit 18-19 the game really opens up. You start getting seriously badass weapons, and you get to start getting class mods and all sort of rad shit.

I got a great explosive SMG, that as Lilith allows me to tear shit up. I'm about to get my skill that has a chance to stun guys when hit with bullets. Combined with an SMG it should rock.

Actually i found a lot early in the game which i sold because i thought they were yellow weapons, not orange. Imagine my surprise when i found out that there were no yellow weapons!

However i did sell them because in specs they weren't superior to some of the purple weapons i found, In fact i went through almost all the second playthrough with the unique weapons the bosses give you on the first playthrough. I only have one badass rocket launcher that shoots 500x3 with x4 fire damage. I kill almost everything with it, basically leveled up all my rocket proficiency with that weapon alone.

I keep two orange weapons, i mainly keep them because they are orange, not because they are any good.
