blogging
The thing I've never been able to accomplish is figure out how to get people to visit your blog in the first place.
Step back. Evaluate. Recognize.
Oh bloggers and their endless quest for "mad hits"!
OK, since you asked -- here's what you do.
Think up things that interest you, stuff that you are opinioned about, have feel strongly for -- like, what, I don't know, anything: favourite books or movies you've recently seen or Zizek's interpretation of Lacanian psychotherapy...anything at all so long as you can write about it in a way that makes it relatedable to people (those bringers of the elusive MAD HITS) -- your aim should always be to illicit that "shock of recognition" in the reader, but if, when you fall short, that's OK too.
Then you get down to business and write a few clear, succinct paragraphs (digressions are fine but keep the discussion moving along, directed at the topic at hand, etc.) on some aspect of your chosen subject in an honest, interesting way and that rises above the "Dear diary, today I..." stuff that bores most readers to tears and gets them clicking the close button in a hurry. Blogger suicide, as it were.
Do that, and before long you'll start racking up the hits.
Good luck.
