Music Moments in Film
http://www.empireonline.com/features/cameron-crowe-greatest-music-moment...

As a thing of the period, i would like to mention 'Wise Up' Magnolia (1999) too.

I know that Crowe couldn't really have chosen this (what with the fact that he directed it and all) but I really like two musical moments in Vanilla Sky. The one at the start with Radiohead's 'everything in the right place' and the one at the end with the Beach Boys 'good vibrations'. In fact, ever since I saw that film 'good vibrations' has always sounded really sinister to me, it creeps me the fuck out.

yeah. the entire soundtrack to Vanilla Sky was fantastic.

The first thing that comes to mind for me is Johnny Greenwood's score for There Will Be Blood. When I heard he was on board I was very curious how it would mesh with the time period. The moment that always sticks out as profoundly intense is the piece accompanying the oil well fire scene.

As far as television is concerned, Weeds has a niche for heightening it's cliffhanger episodes with perfectly suited songs.

mikandrewz

many thanks

The talk in a certain place. He says "The one at the start with Radiohead's 'everything in the right place' and the one at the end with the Beach Boys 'good vibrations'. film 'good vibrations' has always sounded really sinister to me".

I am hearing it now, drinking the beer of supper.

It is your image(ohnny Greenwood's score) of Vanilla Sky?

uuuum.. difficult.

As far as "Vanilla Sky", i have also this image.

Incidentally, my favorite order of the works in which Tom Cruise appeared is [Minority Report] [Magnolia] [Vanilla Sky].... the worst [Valkyrie].

I am also not so disagreeable as everybody says [Vanilla Sky].

I don't know about you guys but this shit is lyrical! Rimbaud and Shakespeare could write for a million years on a million typewriters and still would'nt be able to convey the plight of man's struggles and the mundaneness of moderninity like this single line. While some just see it as a digital message on an internet message board, some see revolution! We are all "hearing it now" Mr. Pygmyee drinking our own beers of supper. I salute you!

Can't say anything except that I love that part.
