Sexual struggle linked to Fight Club again....
Meh, it's no suprise as many people have made the connection and I can't say there isn't some element. Interesting read, but really nothing that hasn't been said already, Check it out.
I think this is somewhat true, actually--though it's not the be-all end-all theme of the story, it is an element. Fight Club is about finding identity in general, and sexuality is part of identity, so I guess whoever brought this up has a point.
I can definitely see the sexual elements in Fight Club, but they're not the main focus--they're more a subset of a bigger theme.

only if you're gay
true and after seeing the movie many times in many different states....the biggest conclusion i could come to as that whole reason for the story.....is a man had done everything he was told for his whole life and like falling down snapped.....except the cause was his fear of commitment....which his father gave him....and the whole elaborate story that is fight club is merely "jacks" attempts to face the inevitable truth and his desire to be with marla but feeling that it is such a big change from his college grad lifestyle and all the things he was use to growing up.....hence why he shipped her off on the bus when he realized that he was worried for her.....he wanted her gone forever....like his father

He put her on a bus because Project Mayhem was gonna kill her, cuntbrains.
Why can't you write properly?
your right, however who gave the orders.......him, the split characters, to me anyway...merely represent being torn....one side resented her, the other needed her....but the brilliance to it was that the side that was always fucking her, was the side that hated her...and the side that resented her was the one that needed her......project mayhem trying to kill him was his fault....
Show me a dollar, i'll show you no heart
Show me a heart, i'll show you my eyes
..............................
It also seems to have christ references to me....
"every night i died, every night i was reborn"
Tyler was a legend to many people, who followed him, did shit ton of horrible things in his name, and even when he tried to correct them when they fucked up, they wouldnt listen to him....
gods unwanted children
Marla is a whore who appears a few times at the beginning of the movie, and when project mayhem is in full swing he tries to get rid of her.....she was there when he "died", in a sense that he discovered he was tyler, they were on the phone while he was at the hotel.....and his rebirth, unltimate rebirth....after Tyler blows his other halfs, brains out....she is there on the roof top....much like mary witnessing the return of christ on the third day.....
Also Tyler denouncing guided meditation and stating that "this" is the only thing thats real...i.e. In Tyler we Trust, no one else....
and the fact that they show the 2 sides of god that we thought only existed to man in the medieval century, as portrayed in art.....being either, loving, and guiding and compassionate and meek.....to being, hostile, unpredictable, deadly and pursuasive....
or you could compare the 2 sides and being good vs. evil
these are spuratic ideas.....if you have any others....feel free to add
Show me a dollar, i'll show you no heart
Show me a heart, i'll show you my eyes
(edit: wrong post)
What with Chuck being gay it's possible that these undertones were put in there subliminally... he may not have sat down and planned to put them in there.
Or perhaps now that Chuck's sexuality is more well-known it could be that people are looking for these sort of undertones and finding them whether they're there or not.
I never noticed it until it was pointed out. So it could be that you see what you think is there rather than what is actually there. If you scratch around hard enough in the dirt you can probably find homosexual undertones in Gone With The Wind, or The Hungry Caterpillar - if you really want to.

When you do something subliminally, you are aware that you are doing it. It is to your audience that whatever you've done has a subliminal effect.
Also, let's not make such a big deal about all the hidden meaning in Fight Club. It's cool that we can all talk about this stuff, but reading too much into it will just distract you from the holistic appeal of the book/movie.

if it's nothing new, why bother bringing it up again?
