Have you ''given up/Let go''?
In the movie Tyler told ''jack'' how he has to give up during the chemical burn scene. He tells him he cant fear death. Then in the car scene he tells him to let go and stop controlling everything.
Have you let go of all fear and gave up your fear of death or all fear in general?

That's a feeling I get when I'm dirt jumping on my bike. Especially when I throw tricks like a no-hander. No pun intended, but when I'm 8 ft in the air, I push though the fear to a level of acceptance. I know it is possible if I stop thinking about it and let it happen. Sometimes it is an incredibly frustrating internal battle especially if I haven't ridden in a while. But at that moment If all is proper I feel time slow down and become hyper alert, friends I ride with agree with this. And as I let go of the grips and stretch my arms behind me, nothing else matters.
Of course I'm also the guy who can compare a regular night at the skatepark to a fight club. Each week many of the same people ride, if you are new you are dismissed until you prove yourself. We see each other in moments of hard struggle and glory, like when someone works hard for a trick then finally gets it. And we watch each other in breathtaking moments of painful failure.
I'm sure people have compared lots of Fight Club to lots of activities but I think it really only counts if you have a couple key ingredients like:1 A crowd. These are witness's, participents, comrades, a mob mentality, even subconcsiously you are performing for them or against them.
2. Actual physical pain associated with failure, sure illegal streetcar racers, gamers, whoever, they feel the adrenaline, they feel victory and defeat. But nothing leaves an impact on your soul like a 6ft drop to your shoulder or hip on hard concrete. or slipping your pedals and gouging furrows of blood up your shins while you take your back tire to the nuts. It hurts, it makes people think" this is stupid" and quit. But when you come back and try it again, you gain a strength that most of modern society never feels.

sure.
