I've seen the CAPalert site a couple times - is this just one guy who goes out to see all these movies he hates?
It would be so awesome to follow around the guy who reviews all the movies for a day. The level of anger and sexual repression pouring out of this guy must be incredible. It's like an entire nursing home of angry bitter old people was concentrated and used to form this guy who sits in movie theaters and counts how many times they say the word "fuck".
I'll bet this guy is writing down the license plate numbers of people with those "Calvin peeing" decals for his future shooting rampage.
actually he's pretty much got the movie dead on. not that i agree that it shouldn't be seen, but rather seen by age-appropriate viewers.

Focus On The Family owns the town i live in, so we're made to feel guilty about every movie we ever see.
especially when one of my own family members works for them....
i'm accustomed to coming home from a movie and being told how evil and satanic (!!) and corrupting it is; at least i was, until i moved the fuck out on my house many years ago.

Focus On The Family. It's, uh... the third or fourth biggest Christian organization in America. Ever hear of James Dobson? He runs it, he's also written a thousand Christian books.
They are responsible for the shutting down of about three strip clubs in town, and also they are constantly on the look-out for inappropriate (sp?) billboards placed too close to schools. They're pretty anal, and although they have a few projects that i have to admit are pretty honorable, for the most part they're just so damn conservative it's made them blind.

I did a little searching on this site, found one of the big things on blasphemy was comparring Buddha or Alah or whoever to God. Strange, I always thought they were well-known to be GODs, just not the Christian God. Talk aboot close-mindedness.

I don't know what it's like over in the US. But in Aus our R rating means that it's illegal to see the movie if you are under the age of 18, so it sort of kills the danger of kids watching this stuff and the point in reviewing a movie from the aspect of what effect it could have on your children. I mean, why isn't this guy reviewing porn movies? Oh wait. That's it. They're aimed at adults.
I have to say that I agree with trypdwyre, although a large part of my dislike of kids watching adult movies is that I hate it when I go to see what is clearly an adult movie and some stupid parent brings their kid and they start crying right in the middle of it.
Having said that, I saw Fight CLub when I was 15 and it certainly wasn't the most violent thing I'd ever been a part of. Incidently that's also about the time I settled down and stopped getting in fights....

about kids watching stuff, well i am very against censorship, but if i had a, say 10 year old kid who wanted to see Fight Club, i would tell him/her that he/she is not old enough to see it. not because of the violence but because i remember when i was a mere ten year old, i didn't fully understand all of the movies i saw... and had i seen Fight Club then it would have been sorta ruined. so i would wait til my kid was mmm... maybe 17 cause that's how old i was.
i wouldn't censor my kids like that on other movies though, cuz everyone's different. my mom didn't want me to see movies like Copycat and such when i was a kid, just cause she didn't want to see them. and i missed a lot of good stuff as a kid cause she thought i couldn't handle it cause she couldn't.
so yeah, i wouldn't let my kid see something reeallly sick until they're at least 15. but i'd be much more leniant than my mom.

i saw fight club when i was like elevn (im thirteen now) and i loved and understood it, maby not as much as u, being 17 did, or whatever, but evrytime i watch it, i get it and love it more. to me, its the bible, and it wasmt ruined at all.
plus, if u tell ur kid not to watch something, they will, just because u said he shouldn't, u cant watch them 24-7, so its best to tell them why they shouldnt watch it and then let them make the decition. i think.
