*SPOILERS* WTF mate!
i've just finished reading "Diary", which was great. i have no issues with the book, its just that at the end of the book there was a letter written to St. Palahniuk which praised his work ( which is how one should address his holiness ) and describes an enclosed manuscript about a girl who has incredible talent, then grows up to be cursed by that talent. whats the deal? p.s. if anyone has any of Sir chuck Palahnuik"s glorious hair or dead skin, drop me a line
When was Palahniuk Knighted?
Please post SPOILERS in your thread title if you are discussing a key point in the book. Especially the ending.
this has been asked before. i could search for the link but really, i can't be bothered this time of night.
suffice to say... there was no decisive conclusion reached.
The woman writing said letter is actually the main character. It's meant to be meta, or whatever. Maybe meta isn't quite the proper term. Basically, blurring the line between fiction and reality is the goal with that final 'letter'. It's been a while since I read it, so that's about as specific as I can be.
The point was to give you that erie feeling like, "Whoa did this really happen?"
But Chuck's a professional writer, so it's his duty to make shit up to make you think like he's not making it up so you can't make out the difference between what he makes up and makes you think he just makes up.
