"guts" pass out toll reaches 8... Diary Tour
yea, so, unofficially the pass out toll has reached 8, 5 priors with 1 knocked down on 9/6 in San Francisco, and 2 'floor smackers' tonight at Cody's Books in Berkeley...
in case your curious, one girl, one guy, no more then 3 seconds of eachother and seperated about 15 feet apart...
2 others left shortly after and they didnt look to hot...
simply disturbing...
long live chuck, good times.

No kidding. Are we sure he's not using a culling poem?
Maybe they are just pretending.
Palahniuk and Miike.
GODS!
You think Chuck set them up to do it? *That* would be funny.
(I think _I'll_ faint at the appropriate moment, too...
)
Do people that faint get first aid from Chuck? Because in that case I would hit the floor faster than you can say "Guts"...

nope.
saturday, the girl was way near the back of the room. he stopped reading and asked if she was okay, but he was too far away to do much more than that.
(if i thought he'd do any first-aid type stuff, i might have faked it myself...i was right in front of him so it would have been easy
)
debacle is a verb
Fine. Then I'm not going to any readings.
*breaks down and sobs because she can't go to the readings anyway*

Shit, Chucks one cold-hearted mother; just standing there with a smirk on his face as people literally faint from the impact of his words!
aww...he was concerned, but he was also kind of into it at the same time.
it's amazing the power that words can have if we let them.
debacle is a verb
Like Stendahl Syndrome!!! OMFG!!! *wink*
*wink* yourself.
you're never on aim anymore.
*pout*
debacle is a verb
Naah... Sticks and stones can break my bones, but words can never hurt me.

they don't hurt me, either - but that's because i don't let them.
not everyone's that smart.
debacle is a verb
Heheh, that's because we have the shield spell to protect us...
Ok, I should stop mixing my books...

actually, right after it happend, he sort of stopped, in limbo, then took a head count, "how many is that, one, two?"
later went on to say how tonight wasnt a record breaker, ahh well...
but its one of those things that he didnt expect to have happen after this reading, it just started happening, so rather then tell people before and have the whole crowd tense and thinking about it, and most likley more pass outs, he just reads the sucker... and lets nature 'bammo' take its course...
it was really disturbing, I saw one teenage boy almost in tears durring the read.
I heard that 5 had passed out in his audio blog before I went, but I thought it might be hype... I'd say 99% chance there was no body in on this, planted pass out mole, it was real, the real effect of words, content, and delivery...

hey mogger,
yea, it has its halarious moments, but its only temporary relief to the horrid reality going on... once you start to really feel whats happening, its easy to realize how you can get so engulfed in his reading, feeling woozy and light headed...
I fear I have said to much...

It was great. I'd heard about the pass-outs, but I didn't really believe it. But it's true. I saw him in KC yesturday and that story tares you up! I don't know know if it was the guts factor, or the fact the I was laughing my lungs out, but I got kind of light headed. The chick sitting next to me had to leave the room. The count is now up to 19! I can't wait for that book to come out. It'll be great!
I'm a see Chuck in DC next week. Perhaps if I sham a loss of consciousness, Chuck will support me with sympathy checks, Mancini-style.
Why sham a faint? How could you look anything but sheepish and foolish?

i heard there were no faints in boston.

Wow. This little thread got CRAZY. People telling me to abuse my girlfriend, people showing an alarming lack of respect for women as a whole, people questioning my masculinity in some kind of bizarre machoistic pissing-contest. Hell, I even got called stuffy.
Saw CP in DC tonight....
Now I know what all the fainting is about....
Don't think I've ever experienced anything like that.
Kind of like the first time you watch Pink Flamengo.
Ultimately, the guy's a renegade genius. KILL YOUR TV!!
Anyone know when Gut's will be in Playboy?

How fucking sensitive are people these days? I guarantee that no matter how graphic the story is, it wouldn't really penetrate me to the point of physical discomfort....not at this point in my life.
YOU FUCKED THE WORST, NOW FIGHT THE BEST!
