diary movie?

Diary would be a good movie, I think. I just finished it last night and I really enjoyed it. I find that when I read, I try to picture who would play the lead charachter, Misty. This role totally belongs to Kate Hudson (the young Misty) and Goldie Hawn (the 41 year old Misty). As for the others, I'm not sure.

hmm, i was thinking maybe juliette lewis?

Juliette Lewis is good, but who would play the older woman?

they could always just ugly up a pretty actress ala Charleze Theron in [i]Monster[/i]

Quite easy to cast, if you ask me.

Misty - Mary McDonnell
Peter - Tom Cruise
Angel - Stephen Fry
Grace - Hmm... Mollie Sugden.
Tabbi - Daveigh Chase. Duh.

I really don't think this would be a good movie at all. The pace of the story wouldn't work in a movie without messing it up. I like Chuck's books, but they don't all need to be made into movies.

i think it should be jessica lange (in heavy Makeup) kathy bates always seems a bit samey to me.

I still like Goldie Hawn in a fat suit and Kate Hudson as the younger Misty. Who do you think would play the comatose hubby? I'm thinking Will Farell! :^) That's a perfect role for him. Just think of it.....Frank the Tank wearing a nappy sweater and ugly jewelry all the time. "we're going streaking!!"

Diary would be one of the most depressing movies ever. That's one thing I didn't like about this book. All of Chuck's books are dark and depressing, but they are usually really funny too. They have lots of comic relief to break up the mind-numbing morbidness of it all. This book sad, sad, sad, and never comes up for air.

I don't know if making Diary into a movie is a good idea.
The fact that the book is written like a diary is hard to get around
if you really want to get to the real essence of the book.

up until about five or 6 'chapters' in it was just depressing, and then she started painting and it became an upper for a moment.

I think Danielle Fishel (Boy Meets World) woud be good for the part. She could play both Misty's as she is young and attractive, but also is rather stalky and can be put into an older mask just from mind set.

I think that was a different, similarly-named film that people got confused with.

I hope so.

I'm surprised to see so many people saying that someone skinny and pretty should play misty. Shes always overweight - even when shes younger. And shes never realy attractive - the kind of person that hollywood doesn't let become a film star.

And Daviegh Chase as Tabbie- Priceless. Give her a year or two and she'd be perfect.

i think diary would make an awful movie, there's no eye candy. who wants to watch some overweight drunk and a coma patient for 2 hours. plus there is not very much dialouge, how do you act out pages of a diary.
what i think would be a great movie is choke, all the fucked up charecters and sex would be a great to watch on the silver screen.
