It was mine. It certainly caught peoples attention. Sadly not enough people worth buying though. I would like to have seen it top the NY Times bestseller list.Sad

Hmmm well i could tell you my favorite. But as far as catching ppls eyes, well i dont really know.

I dont really read books when im out and about. Im one who likes to read at home.

I only read invisible monsters outside the house. It only caught one persons eye, and he was a CP fan Smile

Ps> i couldnt really care about bestseller list. As long as i like it, who gives a dam Smile

My favortie would have to be Choke the US hardcover version. At a signing a few mouths back I had the UK pb version with me, and Chuck told me that that was his favorite. It's the one with a plate of food. A steak, tomatoes, green peas and french fries. He said this after he said that he wasn't pleased with Lullabys' cover, and even less pleased with the UK Lullaby cover. The one with the blue and pink teddy bears. That one, he said, is his least favorite.

No way! Lullaby's US cover kicks ass. Just a dead bird. Nothin else. Enough said. If I hadn't known of CP before, Lullaby's cover would've definitely sparked my interest.

The simplicity of Lullaby's hardcover is effective but the neon yellow ruins it for me. Sure, it catches the eye but so would a rainbow which, as Im sure most of you would agree, would have been completely innapropriate. To me, the cover is very similar to a work of the pop art movement and that does not fit with Palahniuk's unorthodox style.

Hey everyone,

This is a no contest question. Without a doubt, the best Palahniuk cover is the UK version of Survivor (his best book). While I don't have this older, slightly, different version listed on out site, here it is in all it's glory:

The UK Invisible Monsters and the Italy Monsters give it a run for its money too.

Yeah, the UK Survivor is best. But I just noticed the French version
of Choke is really cool.

I like that cover of Survivor. Especially since I think the whole book was Tender lying.

Hey,

The first print hardcover for Fight Club wasn't a man's face. It was the green soap bar laid on a table shot in a close-up.

The cover you're referring to was the first edition of the trade paperback that followed soon after.

Yeah, you damn skippy, JDrabble... one of my jobs is at a book store, and most of the people I work with are old women and it seriously fucked with them, fliping it turning it, etc... same thing when I bought survivor and the cashier was trying to flip through it while we talked, and she got all fucked-up because the pages were numbered backwards, front being highest, or was it the chapters, hell I forget, but that shit is funny. I think about Chuck P's constantly and not only are they satisfying as fiction, but they satisfy at fucking with people... my kind of book...

I couldn't agree more Dennis. That is one hell of a cover... the guy is just standing cool and collected while his pants are on fire.

Now about all this talk over the Lullaby cover, I love the bright yellow, you don't see that much....... also, the best part is on the Harcover when you take the protective sleeve/jacket off, and the yellow outlined house and smoke (that reads "sticks and stones...") on the black looks freaking sweet!

I can't pick one so I'm listing my favortite three:

1) the Italian Invisble Monsters
2) the German Fight Club
3) the UK hardcover Choke

they just all seem the most indicative of what's inside to me.

of the US covers though, i'm a bit surprised to find myself saying Invisible Monsters, since I originally hated the cover. I don't know... it's grown on me.

I don't own the german hardcover of Fight Club, is that the one with the buildings and then at the bottom there's two guys fighting, ones on top of the other one? And what does the Italin IM look like? I've never even seen that. Also I didn't know that Choke had a HC release in the UK. The two that I have are paperback one has the plate of foos on it, and one is red with a silver fork and knife. have you seen the French cover of Choke? It's like florescent pink with a shadow of a person and in the persons mouth there is like a fish an octopus and all this other weird shit.

I like the US Invisible Monsters the best, the girl looks neat w/ her hair and all. Also the UK Survivor is really great....I wish I had it.

Lullaby is okay..I like the simpleness...but the yellow. Ick. I hate yellow.

Well the UK Survivor cover is really great! But I really don't like the German cover. You can see it at www.amazon.de searching for the book "Flug 2039" (that's how the book is called in Germany, meaning flight 2039).

Lullaby is quite ok though there is a big difference between this cover and the other ones.

i agree, the UK survivor, is one of the best. but i also like the US invisible monsters one, with the colors all backwards and such....
but lullaby was quite good too. whenever someone saw the book, or postcard, or pin (street team rocks) they would always turn it upside down first, then turn it right side up again, and ask me why the bird was upside down. the simple, flourescent yellow thing has a nice effect too. when i was one the subway on my way home from chucks reading, i had the book in this plastic bag. and so did a few other people on my train... you could see right through the bag. it was kinda cool. you know that thing in fight club where two guys in the club pass each other on the street, and recognize the bruises, but they can't say anything, so they just kinda nod? thats what it was like - that little nod, as i got off at my stop.
yes, i am fully aware of the fact that that little story has absolutely nthing to do with anything.
just though i'd share.
and i you dont want to read it, then dont, nobody's holding a gun to your head.
