is chuck a vegetarian?
just curious, after all the references in lullaby, not to mention the slaughterhouse and grotesque description of the turkey in IM, and also the quote in fight club "... like expecting a bull not to run into you because you're a vegetarian". i'm just curious if anyone has heard anything.
i heard he's a cannibal.
and that he only sleeps 20 minutes a night.
but yea, like bdw, i've heard he used to be a hardcore vegan, which is different than a softcore vegan in that they only show a little nipple.
Something like "I was vegan for awhile, because I was so opposed to the idea of unnecessary killing". That's not a direct quote...
on another thread under authors someone else asked essentially my same question... someone said he only recently became a vegan, like sometime after fight club...
No.
I think vegetarianism is crazy, and veganism is pure insanity...that would account for the clothes he wears too...'non-leather' 'non-wool cotton' which would mean that he should look something like a velcro man.

I think eating chicken embryos and puss filled bovine milk is crazy and eating the bloody flesh of dead animals is pure insanity.

Are you calling Chuck insane???
I like this one for cheese " rancid mammary gland secretions"
chuck said he "was vegan". what, was that "temporary insanity"?
He's not a vegetarian. He was a vegan for a short time after his father was murdered. He's a great writer and he eats meat. So what?
so nothing. i just find it amusing how some meatheads couldn't stand the thought of him being a vegetarian is all.
i find it amusing that you have yet to talk about anything other than the veg vs meat argument yet pip.
you should diversify

Huh? Are we on the same thread? Which "meatheads" are you talking about? It looks to me like you asked a question and a few people did the courtesy of answering. I happen to be right and you seem to have taken umbrage to that. I'm not invested in Chuck being a vegetarian or not. I just aswered your question.
i got nothing against vegetarianism, but im not a vegetarian either. i disagree with how animal are treated an dhow theyre killed to feed us and all, but i still eat meat. its jsut a preference, i personally cant see how vgetarians can go on without meat.
"so nothing. i just find it amusing how some meatheads couldn't stand the thought of him being a vegetarian is all."
are you trying to win over friends here or something? what do you have agianst people who eat meat? i dont even rememebr a single post that would justify that comment in any way
why did you assume I'm talking about you? i don't have any problem with your answer, it's framer that jumped in with all the veganism is insanity drek.
i have posted on other threads tryp, what are you talking about?
"veganism is insanity" doesn't justify my comment? oh my bad.
ok, I get the Framer drek. Here. I'm posting a comment that was made in response to your asking if Chuck is a vegan on another thread.

Who are you talking to now? Thats the beauty of quoting
i have posted on other threads tryp, what are you talking about?
all of us "meatheads", you know people who enjoy a tasty dead animal for dinner, believe you're talking about us. not a single person has said that they couldn't believe that chuck used to be a vegetarian. it seems that you have a problem accepting that he no longer is. you have a problem with people who embrace their omnivoric side, and you've made that more than clear.
yes, you have posted on a few other threads. oddly enough your posts all tend to carry a central theme, the 'im a vegetarian, so you all can go fuck off' type idea. you need to get over yourself and your preferences and realize, no one cares what your preferences are.
i rememebr me and my bud labella, would talk about all the meals that included meat and how good they were and how you could miz and match and add different thigns, in fornt of our vegetarian friend lindsay.
Hey, I just got lullaby today and i'm about almost half done with it..its a really good book,it makesyou see things you wouldnt ordinarily look at. I alsogot Survivor, I've read Choke..could someone please get in touch with me and give me ur intake on that book.
I have nothing against your posts mirkah sorry if i wrongfully offended you, seriously. actually, i replied quickly so i didn't realize you weren't tbe same person as frame.
. as for tryp, why do you read my threads if they bother you so much? the argument that i talk about one issue "too much" just doesn't cut it. the simple fact is, i like debating. why would i want to argue about something that virtually everyone on the forum already agrees on? I make my arguments, full well knowing most people don't agree with them, in the hopes that maybe, just maybe someone will actually think about the issue and decide on their own instead of going along with whatever mommy and daddy told them. and no, i'm not implying that is true of all meateaters, but there are some people i've met in real life and online who say basically, i was raised that way so how can I not eat meat? so if my posts have a "theme", it is think for yourself.
what's so funny about you, tryp, is you love to jump to the conclusion that I am just one of those militant vegans who thinks i'm better than everyone else because i argue my views. it's easy to condemn the condemner, but when you argue in favor of meat you're just "embracing your omnivoric side". how about you get over yourself. you need to ask yourself why my posts upset you so much?
oh yes and i suppose it's perfectly ok for knoxville to brag about how he/she used to blab about eating meat in front of vegetarians. it doesn't really affect me personally. so you're an asshole so what? but seriously, if you don't want to read stuff about vegetarianism, stop reading vegetarian / animal rights threads. or just let me express my opinion and you do the same.
i read what i please. i am allowed to read something full well knowing it will piss me off. you like debating, i like debating. i argue back with you. are you really dense enough to believe you're the only person on threads that argues just for the shits and giggles of it?
i don't "jump to conclusions" that you are "one of those militant vegans". i infer from your posts, most of which are about vegetarianism, that you are a strong minded vegetarian. you put yourself off in your posts to be fully against omnivorism (in specific the intake of meat products). so if you think i'm jumping to conclusions, ask yourself what you've been posting, and what it makes you seem like. as for knox's bragging, i've come to just let it go, i understand that he is either kidding or saying it to be an ass, and that's fine by me.
but when you start arguing with other posters when all they have done is said "yea, he used to be, but no, he's not anymore", fuck if i should join the argument. you're arguments are silly and biased.
oh, and your theme, "think for yourself", i do, and many, if not most of the posters on here also do. you're not stimulating anyone, you're just serving the same purpose as all the other posts on this forum do for most people, entertainment. i do not get upset, i do not get angry, i vent my frustrations, and reap entertainment from doing so. if that bothers you, good on ya'. if it doesn't, i still don't care.
now sir, if i may quote you "how about you get over yourself."
Bicker, bicker. Perhaps he realizes the ills of contributing to an endless cycle of immoral animal treatment but realizes the futility of giving a shit.
I see dead people...
This is why we can't have nice things.

i've read in interviews that he was a vegan for a little while.
"The elite ruling class wants us asleep so we'll remain a docile, apathetic herd of passive consumers, and non-participants in the true agenda of our governments - which is to keep us separate, and present an image of a world filled with irresolvable problems, that they, and only they, might one day, somewhere in the never-arriving future, be able to solve. Just stay asleep, America, keep watching TV." - Bill Hicks
