I find that great works are able to become subconious, working its style its thoughts into your everyday. Tell me about the great works that flow subconciously into your words thoughts or dreams. I'll start:

I was discussing my thoughts on political belief and used a refernce to choke in my reply couldn't recall of hand where it came from at first only after i sent out the reply did i discover it was a quote often used in choke. I was happy to think this work which i only read weeks ago has already become a subconious extension of my thoughts.

The sequence in the subject but with a political belief that i felt came the closes to describing my affliation, but still not quite right hope that makes sense.

It's great that you felt this way, and brought it up, to boot. It seems that on some level, our minds are mere sponges, however what gets absorbed into our minds filtered through our schema of emotions.

As for great works flowing into my thoughts... It happens so often. One spectacular occasion, however, would be while reading the book "Only Revolutions" by Mark Danielewski. I began seeing the colors green and gold everywhere. Noticing them constantly to the point that I was thinking about them so much that it drove me to send Mr. Danielewski a message detailing my interpretation of his book.

That was a good time...

Happens to me all the time with all of chuck's books. I can't tell you how many research papers I've submitted that cited quotes from his books. I even referenced him in my essay for the GRE. Don't be angry, I've properly attributed him every time, and it's ironic that this whole conversation takes me back to the recurring theme in lullaby that as the ancient greeks believed, our thoughts are not our own.
