Just wondering. . .
According to Wikipedia, "Much of Palahniuk’s research on Choke was conducted with total strangers at the gym and sexual addiction groups."
Anyone know how he managed to get into a sex addiction meeting without actually being a sex addict?
I've never heard of any that were open to the public.
Or maybe that statement is incorrect?
I don't have to try it for people watching purposes as I fall into the 'a.' category.
At least where I live(smaller city), we screen people who call us(meeting location is not listed). But I suppose anyone could lie.
It doesn't seem like many other non-addcits would particularly want to visit. But what do I know.
Hi Im Chuck Palahniuk the famous author can I come into your meeting to get ideas for a new book I'm writing.
Sure come in.
That would work.
Perhaps your group take yourselves too serious and would refuse to let him in, yeah right.
There are no pacts between lions and men.
Ever since Fight Club, I've always wanted to go to a support group meeting. "Incest survivors anonymous" seems like a delightful family romp.
if palahniuk went in to observe a sex meeting, im wondering which one of the members had the gallon of cum in their stomach ha

Anyone can go to one of those support meetings whenever they want to. They just have to find one and a: actually be a sex addict or b: have a good story. Considering that he writes novels for a living, as well as which novels he has written, inventing a good story would not have been impossible for Chuck. Try it sometime - it makes for good people watching.
