The Book Choke
I just have one question i have read Fight Club, Survivor, Invisible Monster, Choke, and i am half way through Lullaby and does anyone else think that the book Choke sucked at was just way to long and pointless?
You like it better then Fight Club?
I did.
I liked it, but there's a bunch of people on here that say they didn't. what kills me is when they say how Rant or Haunted were better than it. that's just nuts!
No, but I liked it better than Lullaby.
I like Monsters best, then Survivor, FC, Choke, Rant, Lullaby. I didn't like Diary. Haven't read Snuff.
Do any of you have kids?
Cause i just had a son and i think that is why i like Lullaby more then Choke.
Lullabye was about about kids dying. i'd think that would be a turn off to people with kids. especially if they just had one.
No not really a turn off cause it makes me feel more for the people and i just want to know what happens next
Lullaby was eh, Diary was mega eh...
Fight Club and Haunted were glory, then Choke and Survivor, yay.
Choke may not have been epic, but that's not to say it wasn't climactic.
Also, originality points for the thread title.

5 points.
I definitely enjoyed Choke somewhat more than Survivor... Victor was, for me, a more relatable character for better or worse. I thought it was a well written story, didn't grab me like Fight Club or Invisible Monsters did, but when I got to the chapter about Paige Marshall's wristband I was happily floored.
Jumping right into Lullaby fresh out of The Contortionist's Handbook may have ruined my first take on Lul, though.
Choke is one of my favorite books. I identify with Victor almost as much as i identify with Holden Caulfield.
If it weren't for physics there would be no stopping me.
Hmm...I LOVE HOLDEN CAULFIELD and I liked Victor but I didn't care for CHOKE. I still consider myself a Chuck newbie. So far it's been FIGHT CLUB, SURVIVOR and CHOKE. I started to read HAUNTED a few years ago but stopped reading it. Not cos I was bored. Something probably distracted me. Anyway, I didn't find much insight to CHOKE even though some of the quotes were pretty funny and Denny was pretty cool too. Other than that, it's like a flat soda pop.
Choke is also my favorite.

I feel like Choke didn't have much of a point
Sure, it was funny, but I feel like the point was lost somewhere
A "point"?

Moral's not the right word, but it's the first that comes to mind
Choke lacked a moral...
Oh... kay.
Quick. What's the moral of Invisible Monsters? Don't turn yourself into your sister and then blow your face off?

Moral's really not the right word,
But it was that the only way you can really get everything life is to break down your identity wallsand become the opposite of what you want.
Idk, I described that awfully but I'm tired lol

It's one of my favorites, actually. I liked all the characters and I thought it was both poignant and funny.
