Invisible Monsters

A fan favorite. It reads like a road memoir of pills, betrayal, dreams and plastic surgery.

We're doing some late Summer renovations at The Cult and one of the sections we would like to improve upon is our Book sections. We never had a great Quotes addition to each book section. Rather, I had to do outside links to other read more »

What does EVSF UYYB IUH mean?

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone could understand those jumble parts of text the protagonist would say. I'd like to believe there is some deducing needed, but I'd also like to believe I'm not supposed to understand what she's saying. I'm so confuddled. HELP ME PLEASE!

Hail Satan.

E-book

Anyone know where I can find a good e-book for Invisible Monsters? Barnes and noble has one for everyone of Chuck's books besides IM which I don't understand.

Thanks

How I heard about Invisible Monsters ---- the most amazing book ever.

I recently bought "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out" by Panic! at the Disco, and I heard the song "Time to Dance". And it struck me how odd the song sounded. So, I "Wiki"-ed it and it said it was based off of a book called Invisible Monsters. So, I figured since I liked the song, I'll like the book. And, I was right. It's the best book I think I've ever read. And, right now, as I type, I'm only about forty pages away from finishing Haunted. And, when I'm done with that, I'm going out and I'm going to buy Choke.

Chuck is an amazing writer and I've written a ton of short stories because he's inspired me so much. I can't wait for Invisible Monsters to be made into a movie.

Brandy Alexander in love with Shannon?

Hi...and yes, I'm a noob.
I loved IM, but one question about the book continues to pester me. Near the end we realize that Shane/Brandy knew the whole time that Shannon was his sister. What I keep coming back to is the revelation Brandy made earlier, that she loves Shannon, she wants to be a family and says,"This wouldn't be a sister thing...I still have all my original equipment." (p.257)
So, if Brandy knew Shannon was his/her sister, do you think it was a test to see if Shannon would reveal her true connection to Brandy? Or was it a sincere request to consummate their relationship?
Maybe I missed something. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I just finished IM

To be honest it took me a while to get into it because the characters were so empty and hateful. But as it went on it was like a celebration of the cold and shallowness people can exhibit when they have little else going for them other than their looks.

The ending is by far one of the best twists I've ever read and I went away from the book with a change of heart and an even greater respect for Chuck and his writings.

I still like Haunted the best though. Devil Grin

Is There A Connection?

I was just wondering. I heard the song before I read the book, so I was like "Hey, I've heard that..."

I guess it's an alcoholic drink, so I was just curious if it was just a coincidence or no? Or if anyone knew!

Invisible Monsters Trailer Project

I have a language arts project where I need to film a 1-2 minute trailers for Invisible Monsters. My group and I were wondering if there are any scenes/dialogue/ideas that you guys feel that we MUST include. Thanks!
