Hello, all. Right now, I am in the midst of re-reading 'Survivor' for the purpose of writing my English thesis paper on it. However, I am not sure how I could talk about any one facet of the book for 17 pages and have not found many sources of analysis of 'Survivor' to consult. I am posting here to ask for everyone's help with links to articles (or, at least, where to find them and their titles and authors' names) as well as your own input.

Obviously, a large part of 'Survivor' deals with religion and Tender's recognition of its banality ('work without end," etc.) so that may be a focus of mine. Also, I finally read the Palahniuk interview in Philly Edge where he's quoted saying that 'Survivor' is a commentary on the education system in America. Though I'm not as attracted to that focus as much as I am to discussing religion, I'm leaving myself open to pursue that angle as well.

Any help you can offer would be great. Thanks!

Everyone whines and bitches about religion nowadays. I'd say go for the education route. At least, it'd be more original.

YEah you can also focus on religion as a form of education and then compare cult-life religious education with the modern North American system of education based more on media and culture than on the typical 'at school' education system.
