Survivor movie finally gets greenlight!

Hey guys,

In our latest news update here Chuck drops the awesome news during his Chicago Book Fair reading that Survivor is back on the slate for production.

It seems the

Request for favorite quotes!

Hey everyone,

We're doing some late Summer renovations at The Cult and one of the sections we would like to improve upon is our Book sections. We never had a great Quotes addition to each book section. Rather, I had to do outside links to other

Michael Jackson as Tender Branson

There seems to be many parallels between Tender Branson and Michael Jackson (even their names are similar!). The sexual hangups, perscription drug abuse, plastic surgeries, staged weddings, and then the sad ending. The similarities go on and on. Was Tender Branson loosely based on Michael Jackson? Is Chuck a psychic or just very observant of our culture?

My first

Ok all of you regulars know that I am not involved with anything here really except for maybe Zoth, but I just wanted to tell everyone that I finally read my first Chuck Palahniuk book. I just finished Survivor and loved it. I am curious to know what everyone else thought of it and what your first Palahnuik books were and what it was that got you hooked on his writing?

Survivor Movie...Interview?

http://www.collider.com/entertainment/interviews/article.asp/aid/8835/tc...

there is no way I'm the first to find this.
Sorry, if this is a waste of a thread.

I remember hearing the news behind this interview, but never reading the actual interview itself.

Comic adaptation possible?

Hello everyone, thanks for reading this.

I'm a comics writer/illustrator based in Cleveland, Ohio interested in doing an adaptation of Survivor into comic/graphic novel format. Ideally I'd like to submit this into the contest at DC Comics' Zuda.com site. They've had professional comics illustrators and writers in the competition already but never an adaptation of a novelist's work.

I know that I cannot do this without permission but honestly don't have a clue how to go about it.

Can anyone help? Is this a hopeless venture? Please, any and all information is greatly appreciated. Thanks - Nathan

I am now the proud owner of one very soggy hardback copy of Survivor

I checked it out, at the library.

Along with quite a few other books, some stuff on figure drawing; human annatomy, mosaic making, human phychology, physics, humorous poetry, Go Dog Go... etc.

And it was time to return. And I put them all in my bag. And I put them in the van, on the floor in the front passenger seat. And I completly flaked out. And I did not return them.

Then, the next day, I decided to return them... because I am very resposible like that, and I love my library privaliges much, and would not forsake them for anything.

I lugged my big blue canvas bag from the van to the drop slot, I was a champ about it.

And as I was all haphazardly, absentmidedly, yet gently I swear, dropping them in the drop box I happened to notice, around the twelveth book to go down or so (the pychology textbook if you must know) how completly swollen and damp it was... as it slipped from my fingers and dropped to oblivion before I could react.

bad copy?

I looked through some of the posts and tried to find something similar to this but I couldn’t, and I’m at school so I don’t have all the time in the world to sift through the forum. So I’m sorry if this was already posted 

I think my friend may have a bad copy of Survivor? I would see if mine is the same but I don’t have my copy with me today.

In her book, it starts with like, chapter 47 and the last page number. And counts down, and when you open the back of the book, there is chapter one.

She doesn’t know whether you’re supposed to actually start with chapter 47… or go to the back and start with 1 and just read her book backwards. It’s chuck, you really can’t know what to expect. Haha.

So I figured I’d help her out by asking this hereeee, and just in case my copy is the same way

Yeah.
how is this supposed to work? Haha 

Differences between french and english edition ?

Hi everyone,

I'm french, so I read all Chuck's books in my own language, including Survivor, a long time ago. It should be my prefer noval, so I always said to myself : I should read it again.

This summer my girl friend offered it to me : an english edition (Vintage Books, London). I was not ready to read it, because of my english, but since I read a lot of american screenplays for my work, and I thought I was ready.

Well surprise !

In the french edition, the pages and chapters are countdown. You read page 280, then 279, then 278... The book is published that way, but you keep reading it like a normal book, from left to right.

In the english edition, the pages and chapter are in the right order, so if you read it like a normal book, it wont make sens. I have to start to the end of the book, and read pages from right to left, like a manga book.

is there really a secret ending in the back of the hard cover of this book.

hi all iam new to this site and iam new to he writings of Chuck palahniuk. Survivor happens to be the first book I read and the ending was a bit difficult to understand but I came here and figured it out but I see in the fourms people are saying there is a secret ending n the back of the hard cover version I this book and was wondeing if this is true or is it a prank to get people to mess up their books?
