the missing songs of the FC soundtrack
i know the pixies are one of the excluded songs, even tho they have the most noticable song in the movie,, but what are the others? i know there is a song that is playing as tyler walks in to use lou's basement for the first time, what is it? are there any others?
I'm waiting for you. With butterflies.
Is that the one playing when they walk into Lou's and it's really distorted?
thats the one i was asking about, are there any others? i've not seen the movie for a few months
I'm waiting for you. With butterflies.
Yep, that's the one. Funny thing is, it's not that distorted. Waits is awesome. I was watching FC with a friend and he said, "I'm surprised Tom Waits isn't on this soundtrack," or something along those lines shortly before that scene in the bar. And then he shouts, "Hey, that's him! That's Tom Waits, it's gotta be." Sure enough... Before then, I'd never even really heard of him.
The Tom Waits song first appeared on his "Bone Machine" album from, like, 1992 or thereabouts.
And, yes, that's how his voice sounds all the time.
That and the Pixies are the only two non-Dusties tracks I remember from the movie.
i downloaded the tom waits song, it doesnt sound as good as it does in the movie
I'm waiting for you. With butterflies.
where is my mind?
And when you’re looking for truth on the cover of a magazine...
How does it feel
When you find out what you’re not gonna be?

You need to play it REALLYFUCKINGLOUD.
Are we sure it's 'Earth Died Screaming', btw? I haven't listened to that album in a long time (got stolen) & I remember it as a different track, but, as I said, It's been like ten years...
I love Tom Waits. Especcially his newer/recent stuff. It makes me smile.

Newer stuff? Have you listened to his older stuff?
'Heart Attack And Vine' and 'Blue Valentines' are on your shopping list for the week, XChuck. Give those a listen and get back to me.
Also, if you don't already own 'Swordfishtrombones', drop and give me... infinity.
I have those albums too. Well, my dad has those albums. And I would listen to them, but I am hooked on RadioHead fever at the moment.

XChuck! You are not your father's record collection! Stop listening to that Flavor-of-the-minute crap (Radiohead, bah. It's real pretty and then gone from your head as soon as the music stops - cotton candy fluff. bah!) and seek out something of substance!
Go listen to a Mingus record instead.
music has substance to the individual. i know people who still listen to the hives and the vines. we think "who the fuc..." and they live and breath it. im not a radio head fan, but i dont knock the band for those that like them... that creep song is pretty good sometimes.
and im pretty sure i have the right song, i'll play it really loud and see if it makes a difference
I'm waiting for you. With butterflies.
The song isnt "Earth Died Screaming", its "goin' out west"
what is the song that is playing when the two guys step out of the bar and the camera makes a ground breaking pan to jack and tyler fighting, for the second time. within this song, a little montage begins, and in one scene of the montage you see jack pissing with his boss, and his eye is all bruised? what song is playing? it seems like something from the dust brothers, but it seems to be not on the soundtrack. someone, anywhere, help
Larry Anderson
oh come on, does anyone know?
Larry Anderson
Where is my mind? is the best song ever to grace the earth... i was sooo disappointed when i bought the soundtrack and it wasn't there... i love all the Dust Brothers music too but it would have been so fine to have the Pix song on the same album. well, i have it downloaded now... but it's just not the same thing. =/
The sandy haired son of Hollywood
Lost his faith in all that's good
Closed the curtain, unplugged the clock
Hung his clothes on the shower rod
But he didn't get undressed
And no, he didn't seem depressed
in mourning of Jonathan Brandis~
its not in the movie cuz it was written a year after the movie came out (mabey it was inspired by it)
but you all have to check out the song papa roach - between angels and insects
all we are, is shadows on the wall

Oh, wait, I think I just got it! Some poor sentence structure obscured the meaning:
"It's not in the movie, but you all have to check out the Papa Roach song "Between Angels and Insects".
Is that more or less what you were going for, Zen?
haha yea, sorry for the confusion ::shame::...but check it out
all we are, is shadows on the wall

"Earth Died Screaming" by Tom Waits with Les Claypool on bass. You can get it off of Waits' album Beautiful Maladies. Don't know any others.
