Raymond K. Hessel: A reference to Kafka?

I've just finished reading Fight Club, and at school I'm doing the play Words, Words, Words. In WWW, there are three characters who represent three authors, one of them is Kafka, who was known for using character names and abbreviating them to just K. So, in WWW they make the joke that Kafka can only type K. K. K. K. etc.

So, when I read the section on page 152-155 involving Raymond, I thought of this because he gets referred to as "Raymond K. K. K. K. K. K. Hessel" etc.

Do you think it's a reference to Kafka, or simply a choice Palahniuk made?

Probably not a reference to Kafka, though I have nothing to back that up with.

I think it was actually poking fun at his fear-induced stuttering, but I could be wrong. I don't remember that part in the book specifically( I read it a while ago and have since lent it out), but I saw that part of the movie a couple weeks ago and that was my impression.
