the movie doesn't do the book justice
I just read the book and I have to say, Fincher didn't do all that great on the adaptation. I watched the cut movie on Spike TV (they had to cut like an hours worth of content out of it) and thought the movie was pretty hardcore. Then I saw the uncut movie on DVD and thought the movie was really hardcore. Then I read the book and thought OMG! This guy is effing insane!! I gotta tell ya, the book is my favorite. Sorry Dave.
instead of comparing the book and movie, i usually compare the movie to other movies from book adaptations. based on that, the movie is a masterpiece.
i look at the book and movie as complimentary pieces. i think the movie does some things better than the book and the book does something better than the movie, mostly because its a book and can say a lot more. but i look at them as two pieces that put together make a better fight club than either one individually. i guess i say this because i thought the movie made the book better.
There's a book?

Well personaly brother ken I thought the film did the book justice, I thought bthe pairing of pitt and norton was a master stroke.
You want to talk injustice, wuthering hieghts has been in my top three books since I was sixteen and the fuckin movies that this masterpiece has inspired are both numerous and shite. Why can't somebody do this tragic tale of lust, love, hate, frustration, class difference and raging passions justice.
Mind you broken if you read this book you'd probly go out and try to have a doomed relationship, beat up your love rival and beat your head against a tree whilst howlin at the moon.
There are no pacts between lions and men.
Nate, well said.
Barca Boy, best said.

The film and the book are two different entities...unless the writer was intending to make the book into a screenplay during the writing process then one is going to be better than the other. But what it comes down to is...So What?
both were entertaining and thats all that matters.
I like the ending to the book better, really. The ending to the movie was alright, though.
And I agree, both were entertaining.

I liked the movie better.
