I am new to Chucks work, and I have fallen madly in love with every word on every page I have read so far. I am curious, however, to know if anyone understands the symbolism behind Marla Singer's mysterious phantom phone calls in Fight Club. It's not often mentioned in the book and it isn't mentioned at all in the movie, but it keeps me up at night because I cannot seem to figure it out. Sorry if this question has been posted before, but I'd really appreciate some feedback. Thanks a million.

maybe they're just phone calls. nothing symbolic about 'em.
